She is very poised and graceful in the way she sings. This music does not call for much physical expression. Mozart wanted to show off Costanza's voice when he wrote this so he was out to in his opinion write the most beautiful piece of music of all time. And I won't argue against it. This music needs nothing more than to simply be sung, and sung well. In my opinion Sumi did just that. Gorgeous performance.

I thought Sylvia McNair was pretty much unbeatable until I heard Barbara Bonney with the same force. I disagree 180° with "technically correct but without soul and life": imperfect is her asian timbre; perfect is her technics (pitch, tempo, power and variation); *beyond perfect* is how well she understands and renders the emotion in the sacred phrases (see my "2007-0905.1239"); she certainly understands far better than the one who writes "de spirito facto"! My spine chills at her soul and vibrant life, more than at her technics! Tue 25 Mar 2008 00:15 GMT

Mozart, Offenbach ,Bizet, Delebes etc. She can do it all. She is wonderful!! I don,t want to argue with anyone, but Sumi does it for me.
I love this piece and Sumi Jo, as usual, sings it perfectly and beautifully. She is a talent of gigantic size.
1700 views and not a single reply, criminal. Mozart would be proud to hear this and her voice is just amazing...
This really is glorious singing. It’s too bad the orchestra doesn’t match up-either under-rehearsed or just third rate.

주님께서 말씀하셨다
[욥기as of 13.07.2023]
I disagree 180° with "technically correct but without soul and life": imperfect is her asian timbre; perfect is her technics (pitch, tempo, power and variation); *beyond perfect* is how well she understands and renders the emotion in the sacred phrases (see my "2007-0905.1239"); she certainly understands far better than the one who writes "de spirito facto"! My spine chills at her soul and vibrant life, more than at her technics!

It's a bit too fast...
I agree
Et incarnatus est de Spiritu Sancto ex Maria Virgine et homo factus est."
