C’est une Vraie Diva qui est inégalée actuellement et sa tessiture de voix est plus claire que Maria Callas. C’est une Cantatrice extraordinaire et géniale ! I recognized she was 48 years old back then in 2009 when perfoming this and it is not her 1st try, but actually she had ever performed this role at La Scala in Milan in 1992. She proved herself she is still shining through even after 17 years. Outstanding!❤❤❤

The aria is often sung in Italian as "Non temete milord " . It was originally from Auber's opera Le Serment (1832) and was later inserted in Fra Diavolo instead of a shorter (less brillant) aria. Both arias have the same introduction but then differ. @@kiraanna7526 It will probably be difficult enough just to find the text, because the printed libretti in French contain the original easier aria, which is usually sung in opera performances except by star singers like Sumi Jo. She maybe dug up the text in some musical library somewhere.
I absolutely adore Sumi Jo..but her fashion sense is just awful. However, no one can sing this aria like Joan Sutherland. Every not is articulated perfectly...Sumi Jo does an okay job here. Listen to the Sutherland..it is a world of difference.
