    A fine work. I'm surprised by the Benedictus fugue, very unusual structure.

    A hidden gem previously missed from my journey with Wolfgang.
    Unsurprisingly a masterpiece, technically how can this genius be wrong when it comes to praising God.

    I love K. 337 :)
    I've often paired it with the Kyrie fragment, K. 323 (Anhang 15), splicing in that Kyrie before the Gloria - it's rather convincing and, given the documented Credo fragment that comes with this mass, it makes me wonder...

    Many have not heard this Mass and there is a good reason. It was discovered hidden in a wall around 1960. A marvelous work. I have a feeling Mozart hid it near the end of his short life as he was not overly fond of the Church at the time.

      Not sure that’s correct, it was published by Breitkopf und Härtel in the 19th century.

      @@simonkawasaki4229yes, but the full Credo was completed only after 1989, due to the alternative version in the autograph

      Thank you! We've seen this portrait frequently; it is quite unlike any other of Mozart. Sussmayer should be pictured with Mozart on the Requiem since without Mozart's student we might not ever hear this sublime work.

    Fantastic! But the music is in B not In C

    • @VV_PaVria
      @VV_PaVria 7 лет назад +5

      It is indeed in C major, but it sounds like B major because this is a "Historically-Informed Performance", using instruments and tuning that existed (or might've existed) during Mozart's time. As a result, pieces performed this way would usually sound a half-step lower than they would be in today's tuning.

    Nawet ktoś tak kłótliwy i zrzędliwy jak Mozart (a miał do tego dobry powód- swoją głuchotę), który mocował się z Bogiem przez całe życie, też napisał wspaniałą mszę i przyjął księdza leżąc na łożu śmierci.
    Szkoda, że dziś nie tworzy się takiej muzyki :( a jeszcze większa szkoda, że w kościołach jej już się nie gra :(
    Even someone as ill-tempered and grumpy as Mozart (and he had the good reason- his deafness), who wrestled with God all his life, also wrote a wonderful Mass and took the priest on his deathbed.
    It is a pity that today there is created a kind of music :( even greater pity that the church is no longer the game :(

      MrsMagdalenaKamila Mozart was never deaf. Perhaps you mean Beethoven?
