Yeah, smoking did feel good, but overtime you sometimes have to sit there wondering how fucked are you for the next 15 years when all of this shit comes back at you. You look at it and you just realize how much damage you've done to yourself overtime. When I started reading philosophy on self-improvement and whatnot, I slowly realized how much shit human beings have to go through each passing day, and the cost of your choices aren't easily apparent overtime. When you live a life a suffering, you tend to find comfort in that suffering. That's why when you're met with anguish, you smoke. Fight fire with fire. And you realize you've been doing it wrong. The worst you can get when you are into smoking is the sinking feeling of never getting out of it when you think you need to desperately need to get out of it. The first 2-3 years, you kinda get why smoking feels so good. Come 5 years or more, you start to loathe the fact that you need to smoke just to get things out of your system. Addiction is an abyss everyone thinks they can get out of, that is until you can't find your way out.
That's an amazing story that you've shared here, and I feel you on this quite a bit. I myself used to be a social smoker and vaper. The first few times I tried it out was out of pure curiousness and before I knew it I was hooked and had bought my own device. And the statement made in the case of addiction is really deep because it takes a lot of willpower and determination to stop. I started smoking and vaping from around the 1st quarter of 2022 and was hooked till 2024 but around the mid point of 2024 me and my close friend were dealing with immense workload and stress which led us to vaping more and surely enough we just had a revelation, in the sense that what we were doing was not a good thing for our bodies, I became even more irritable whereas my friend got sick more often. And with our national service right around the corner we had to make a choice. I've luckily managed to stop vaping and smoking altogether for about 2-3 months now and the beginning was quite hard because I was quite restless and felt the urge of borrowing someone's device. I still want to continue the clean streak till I get older since I've seen the consequences of it, especially with my uncle recently having a stroke and being sent to the hospital. And I'm not implying that people who are currently smoking or vaping are stupid or idiotic to continue because I've been in their shoes myself, and I understand the general reason as to why people do these to themselves. It's easy to say things like "There's other alternatives to smoking or vaping" or "You need to quit because it's bad for your health" but it only goes a long way to prevent a relapse or even a crash. It was nice to hear of your story and it compelled me to share mine. I hope you are able to quit vaping in the near future because even if it is a better substitute, it can still cause complications in the future. I hope you have a good day, cheers from Singapore.
It was cut out for this compilation, but I like what they pointed out for the clip shown at 7:55. They reminded her that she's the only one teaching art appreciation and history, so she doesn't have to worry about uniqueness. ...You know, I think if anyone gets to define "Hololive-like", it should be Cover. So until Cover decides they don't belong...
But still, her debut is definitely one of a kind amongst all other corpo vtuber I know. I mean, there's rumor about her being not only girl failure but also (close to) human failure at debut as she was close to penniless and being addicted to 3 great vice. And then there's that small raden in white background for her debut is too out of the box.
Despite that image, it turned out that her house is pretty clean and tidy according to the other ReGLOSS members. I don't know if that was the start of it, but it's around that time that her image transformed into the "voice of reason" of ReGLOSS in spite of her vices so it definitely contributed to the reversal of her image. JP Twitter users definitely memed about her being penniless though, since in the early days she reported exactly how much money was left in her purse on Twitter.

Quiting smoke is just like you quit use any other drugs. Its hard and people who overcome this level of addiction should've praised for strong will to quit. Sometimes the environment play crucial role too. I remember when kiara said "jokingly" raden stink tobacco on Minecraft collab
Seriously all jokes aside quitting smoking is probably the best for her It can totally affect her singing Because regloss is full blown music group after all
I'm sure those were intended as playful jabs. Not every holomem knows all the others well so they have to make do with what they know, and with her it's the one thing (well, one of three things) that *everybody* knows so it's the easy joke. The low-hanging fruit, if you will.

I quit 2 years ago. I wanted to start a Bolt Action army and get some paint for the models and realized i was spending 200$ a month on cigarettes that would be better used on more models... So yeah, 2 years later i got a massive DAK army (about 150 men, dozen tanks, bikes, artillery/AT guns, various transport vehicules, even some 20 Gebirgsjägers with donkeys...), a fairly big Western Desert Italian army, a 40 man Fallshirmjaeger army with a few vehicles and about 20 Luftwaffe field division members and a 30 man early-war Blitzkrieg army with a couple vehicles and tanks... At least THAT addiction ain't too bad for my health i guess :P
I've done a little volunteer work in addiction recovery services, and for whatever reason smoking/nicotine seems to get its hooks in people deeper than almost anything else in terms of how hard it is to quit. The shame that can often come with smoking, either because of the smell or people nagging you about your health makes it even harder. It's easy to internalize that shame and put yourself down, especially after trying to stop and relapsing. Her trying to get clean is a massive show of personal strength and character. I want her to keep clean, but I also want this community to be nothing but supportive and encouraging even if she relapses. She calls herself "trashy" but quitting an addiction is something most people never do. I hope she knows how strong she is.
I lost my maternal grandmother to lung cancer that had spread to her brain when i was 7 years old, and it devastated my mom and me. She was the only grandparent i was close with (both grandfathers died before i was born, and my paternal grandmother is an abusive narcissist that i disowned) and it didn't really register what happened until years later, likely due to childhood innocence as well as not being able to grasp abstract concepts well due to being autistic. My mom used to smoke but quit decades before she had me. Same with my dad. I hate smoking, I've never tried any tobacco products or similar, and i absolutely despise the smell of tobacco. But I'm very much aware that it's an addiction. I've battled gacha addictions, and i know it takes persistence, and i am SO proud of her.
You got this man, I quit smoking and vaping too, 6 years clean now. I started smoking at 16, then vaping at 18, then after moving out and getting into college, I quit to live a healthier life. You got this, for sure! 💪
Find someone you trust, who can hold you accountable, who you can call daily or whenever you have strong cravings. That helps a lot. But really one has to really want to not smoke every day to keep it going. Difficult part is allowing to be frustrated and just processing it naturally, when all you have been doing for X years was use a crutch like smoking or any other drugs. Find a plan and have someone else follow with you with that plan, what worked for me. It is wayyyyy too easy to just psyche yourself into thinking it isnt the right time yet and postponing quitting, but if you do quit, there are many blessings you wont even imagine.
A relative of mine died due to being a heavy smoker, lungs were destroyed and throat with a hole. So watching this made me so happy for Raden, even the fact that when she smoked she never did it in front of her gen mates makes me admire her greatly (my relative used to smoke when my brother and I were near back when we were 8 and 4 respectively so...). She is truly a source of inspiration

I'm 41 years old... When I was younger I smoked but it was very little... less than 1 cigarette a day... But when I moved alone to a new city... there was a time when I stayed I was very lonely... I didn't have many friends and outside of work I was alone... I ended up smoking a lot more... I think it was to deal with the loneliness a little!! My luck was that I managed to return to my hometown and it's been over 12 years since I've smoked a cigarette or even felt the urge to smoke!! It was the best decision of my life!!
Today I learned about DEV_IS lol, kept seeing some of them in videos with Hololive members but didn't get which group they're from. *Thanks for the informative summary. It seems like her motivation for smoking wasn't very intrinsic so she could be talked out of it which is great, it's hard to tell when it's something you should talk to someone about or if it's a thing they're driven to do and will just get angry if you suggest they stop.

i love that raden can break everyone pov of how idol should be and make me intrested in her just because she was introduce herself as a smoker person but iam glad she trying to stop smoking
I quit smoking a little over four years ago. It's hard but you can do it. First you need to want to quit; if your heart isn't in it the difficulty will be a lot higher. Then you just need to stop. Try quitting for two weeks. Whenever you feel the urge to smoke, remember that the urge will pass. Tell yourself that if you want to, you can always take up smoking again tomorrow but that you won't do it right now. And if at any point between now and tomorrow you are happy that you didn't smoke, remember that the next time an urge comes. The urges will fade. When two weeks is up, if you want to, start again. But if you feel glad and proud that you made it to two weeks, keep going. Stay quit for another two weeks or even a month. Everytime you feel the urge focus on defeating the urge. Outlast it. And if you ever do lose to the urge, don't despise yourself. Focus on all the times you succeeded, not on the time that the urge won. Start over as soon as you are ready. Take pride in every small victory. And know too that it's gonna feel awful for the first week and a bit because your lungs are waking back up and starting to expel all the bad stuff that has accumulated. And never forget what it was like to be a smoker. Remember the times it interrupted your life. The coughing in the morning. The odors. Feeling out of breath. All the awful things that make you want to stop. Because after you've quit for a while, the urge might come back again and it's easy to forget all those bad things. Those awful feelings are your defense against nostalgia. Write them down and carry them with you I'd you think it'll help. Good luck.
hey! props for quitting and staying away from it! I got addicted to vaping for 3 years and now clean for 2 months. What motivated me is the chest pain im feeling and my will to live

Honestly, I got into Raden cause anime characters smoking is hot to me, but at the same time I think that's more of a fictional fantasy, similar to how people like monster girls. In reality, smoking is dangerous and can kill and I'm glad she quit, that's not an easy thing to do.
First time watching her I thought that smoking was only her persona and that it was too risky to reveal if it was real. Bold move from the management but I also respect it. I like her because she's very cultured. Love her even more because of that determination to quit smoking, it's very hard and requires a lot of willpower.
I'm really happy she ditched smoking. I'm okay with drinking with moderation but I've seen too many friends and family die because of smoking. And I want to spend more time with Raden-chan and everyone in ReGloss.
There is a study with rats where when they where offered with water that has an addictive substance( i forgot what it was) all of them got addicted, but when they added a "rat park" where they can socialize and play, the rats had less of the addicting substance if not at all. So doing something that you love really helps fight against addiction, i guess it just shows how much she loves her work.

The first 2-3 years, you kinda get why smoking feels so good. Come 5 years or more, you start to loathe the fact that you need to smoke just to get things out of your system. Addiction is an abyss everyone thinks they can get out of, that is until you can't find your way out.
Excellently put. Same with other mental issues.
That’s amazing, I’m so happy for her!
It’s not just for her long term health and idol image but also her ability to sing!
So glad this company has helped her a lot
It was cut out for this compilation, but I like what they pointed out for the clip shown at 7:55. They reminded her that she's the only one teaching art appreciation and history, so she doesn't have to worry about uniqueness.
...You know, I think if anyone gets to define "Hololive-like", it should be Cover. So until Cover decides they don't belong...
I hope watching hololive cure depression! Also her laugh is kinda like Pekora
Chain-smoker here, and I'll confess: quitting is tough, yes. But the toughest part about quitting is the fact that smokers actually ENJOY smoking.
Yep. I'm clean for a year and I still feel that urge once or so a week, but I know it's just passing urge. Smoking will never give me the enjoyment I crave, only dull me to it into a habit.
@@HydrengeaEdelweiss congrats on quitting, been a smoker for 10 years. Always have a hard time when I want to quit, specially if I hangout with my friend and most of them smoking in front of me. It's really hard to resist the urge of not smoking in front of them. Funny thing is, if I alone I can managed to not smoke for days. As long as I'm alone, it seems like smoking helps me communicating with other people.
@@HydrengeaEdelweiss that filling will never go away, it will get dormant but if something scares you or makes you angry that urge will come back to bite you just gotta fight it
I've never smoked but i have battled a gacha addiction and i can kinda relate. I started prioritizing saving money for specific things. I've been focusing on preferring to use my money on games without gacha. I've also become very picky about what gacha games i play and whether i can get by fairly without being a p2w player.
Addiction is hard to kick
@NicoNicoNessieSub there's the genshin impact pull simulator. Limit yourself to a certain amount each day. See if you get lucky, resist the urge to pull more.
just an idea
Quiting smoke is just like you quit use any other drugs. Its hard and people who overcome this level of addiction should've praised for strong will to quit.
Sometimes the environment play crucial role too. I remember when kiara said "jokingly" raden stink tobacco on Minecraft collab
Hell of a job with the editing here. This was a lovely piece.
I really appreciate the character development 🔥
Seriously all jokes aside quitting smoking is probably the best for her
It can totally affect her singing
Because regloss is full blown music group after all
Its the pressure from her senpais especially Aki Rose. Every time she collabing, one of the question is always about her smoking
I'm sure those were intended as playful jabs. Not every holomem knows all the others well so they have to make do with what they know, and with her it's the one thing (well, one of three things) that *everybody* knows so it's the easy joke. The low-hanging fruit, if you will.
*Care, not pressure.
She gets to be insanely charming for longer now. Everyone who matters wins!
Hololive not only recruit a smoker in Idol group but also help them quit smoking, truly CHAD moment
2:05.. NANI?! Pekora?
Her oshi is aki
And Aki despises tobacco smoke.
Raden being heavy smoker and reduce it slowly. RESPECT!
I know it's hard for smoker to quit in such short time, some might took years to fully quit smoking.
I love Raden just being Raden. She can do what she wants, but I hope she take care of health, I hope more good things happen to her.
I hope my dad quit smoke too
I quit 2 years ago.
The fact that Aki's words play a part in her quitting is something I really like
IIRC, many of her viewers, which are also smokers, quit smoking too because of her confession in marine and fubuki stream
Well, if Raden quit smoking, maybe there's a chanse for me..?
Always 💪🏼
If she can you can
You got this man, I quit smoking and vaping too, 6 years clean now.

Props to Raden to quit smoking for her oshi. Not easy thing to do
What a "We can fix her" moment 😭😭
That is so admirable and impressive. Smoking is no easy thing to quit. Im very happy for Raden so have found such a supportive environment.
I'm very happy for Raden, surely it must have been a difficult vice to surpass. Glad she also decided to stick with Hololive for longer, hopefully she's really feeling positively about it.
I can't believe that YAGOO converted his circus into a rehab facility, I'm crying and shaking rn
I was interested firstly on her unconventional behavior, but I am intriged to see how far she can go, and she is definitvely one of my favorites!
I was honestly really happy to hear this when I first saw the news. It was something I was hoping for since she debuted actually. I'm glad she's taking care of herself.
Singing and dance at the same time quite exhausted, so no have choice to stop smoking & drinking
"A gem cannot be polished without friction."
This just made Egg-san into *Hard-boiled* Egg-san.
i love that raden can break everyone pov of how idol should be and make me intrested in her just because she was introduce herself as a smoker person but iam glad she trying to stop smoking
glad she quit.
it'll be difficult to do hololive activities especially like dancing if she's still smoking.
What the heck 730K ?
I feel like its only yesterday where I congratulated her for her 700K's subs.
They needed her quit smoking because it will affect her performance. She will get easily tired from the smoke. Hardly breath. Good thing she quit
if she can, so do i ! ! !
Man...I wish I understood Japanese better...I really wanna watch her, since I love art stuff but her vocabulary is too vast, unlike like pekora or miko.
What Yagoo envisioned actually wrecked and refortified again and again. Congrats Raden-han
Honestly, I got into Raden cause anime characters smoking is hot to me, but at the same time I think that's more of a fictional fantasy, similar to how people like monster girls.
In reality, smoking is dangerous and can kill and I'm glad she quit, that's not an easy thing to do.
Hololive is one of the 7 wonders of the world if you ask me
congratulations. it's never easy to beat an addiction.
First time watching her I thought that smoking was only her persona and that it was too risky to reveal if it was real. Bold move from the management but I also respect it. I like her because she's very cultured. Love her even more because of that determination to quit smoking, it's very hard and requires a lot of willpower.
akirose : i like someone who doesnt smoke
raden : yes my queen as you wish
I don't watch her much, but Raden is one of my favorite idols whom I respect a lot.
Hololive really went "I can fix her."
AND THEN ACTULLY FUCKING DID IT!
I'm so happy for her bros! :D
Raden is such a fascinating person and her determination to quit smoking should be an inspiration to us all.
This is heartwarming and wholesome to know, thanks to all the hololive members and fans supporting her.
if Hololive can help Raden quit smoking; they can help the ones in chat that smoke.
This is really cool! I hope people get inspired by this too :)
It's always great to see someone change right before your eyes. I wish all of them the best of luck.
I'm really happy she ditched smoking. I'm okay with drinking with moderation but I've seen too many friends and family die because of smoking. And I want to spend more time with Raden-chan and everyone in ReGloss.
Going cold turkey is insane.
愛のある素晴らしいまとめをありがとうございます!
I'm surprised and extremely happy to see Raden leading in subs! I had no idea, so thanks for adding that at the end. I would have guessed Bancho had the most subs. I don't now what struggles she has faced or what made her want to quit, but I hope her sub count helps her believe that she has plenty to offer that people want to see.
Japanese teenagers are smoking when they turn 20 meanwhile in Europe we have 14 year old Chainsmokers.
meanwhile in Indonesia, we used to have a chainsmoker toddler (glad he able to quit smoking tho)
@@sumertaagus2935 I know, he went viral a few years ago.
Such powerful and inspiring story, thank you for this egg san
It takes a lot of strength to kick bad habits and addiction, it makes me feel oddly proud of her for quitting. Go Raden!!
Went and subscribed to her ❤ Best of luck to her journey 😊
Also props to Hololive for still choosing her despite knowing she will receive backlash and still allowing her to be who she is
My kamioshi is the best. She's amazing. I love her.
Didn't realize this was the story behind the Maitake sensation! Very glad I watched this video.
Off topic, but she does laugh like Pekora
The first thing I noticed lol
She’s both very brave and incredibly strong willed. I hope to be more like her!
1:36 Man, that description of ReGLOSS is such vague corpospeak 😅 I enjoy the personalities in it but Cover really loves those almost meaninglessly vague terms and claims, don't they? Super glad they (and the audience) managed to convince Raden to stop smoking though 😌
I'm glad someone else feels the same way
@@yodawgzgaming4416 cringe bs 🤡🤡💩💩😂🤣
8:41 You tell her, Marine!
Hololive helped me continue smoking 🙏
So proud of her. Really hate those people who says that they're not hololive like. Regloss actually blend in with others Really well, they already pass as being funny. Glad raden didn't quit
and a Seneca quote at the end, my guy!
Im glad that Raden quit before it was to late My uncle didn't survive it but he still got saved before he passed.
My uncle was a big smoker since he was 15 (yeah) but he took me in when very young and decided to quit smoking, he always told me it was extremely hard and it felt like something so normal and usual for himself, like a part of his day that he needed to have it be good, but he never wanted to expose me to the habit, i do smoke like once every year (funny enough, in his birthday) i respect people who are able to quit, ive seen how hard it can be
I also hope The Hololive girls stop drinking since it's also dangerous, especially after what happened to Mio-sha... That's really scared me.
Let's just pray that All Hololive Members, staff and families will always be healthy and all the fans and their families also will always be healthy.
Debut Raden be like
"look vices got hands so don't underestimate them or you will get smoked (pun intended)"
Yata!!! So proud of her.
That ston s product seems real solid. It seems to be what vapes were originally promising to be, an actually healthy way of quitting smoking. Just straight up water vapor and some flavoring. Just sent it over to a couple friends that are addicted to vaping. Hopefully they look into it, because I’d really like to see them with more energy and just more lively. Hate seeing them in this constant state of needing a vape that interrupts their lives.
Raden: *quits smoking
also Raden: hmm coffee
And because she didn't quit, now we have 3 shorts that'll make our brains rot for a month or so cuz I know this'll be famous like those TikTok shiz
I've tried many times. Good for her. ❤
I hope she can keep going. I want to see how far she can go.
I love regloss, hard to pick a favorite
her laugh … 🥹🥹🥹🧡🧡
I quit nicotine on my 18th birthday after vaping 55mg juice for about a year (Red's Apple Original, iykyk). It's been just over 5 years now and while there are definitely days I miss it, knowing my clean streak is increasing helps with the cravings. My point is, it's hard to quit and I'm super proud of her for making this change in her life. Well done Raden!
have heard raden smoke before like when the topic still around, now i see this vid, might stop smoking too
funnily enough, in the time for her to quit smoking, I started smoking. Life has been rough man, and I don't think I can thug it out anymore.
