- I had an old pair of redwings Iron Ranger Boots sitting around. I got it in my head about making a new pair, well i was consumed with the thought of making it so i finally ordered the leather, adjusted a pair of lasts to my foot size and made a pair of IRON RANGERS. I'm so happy I did it finally. Now I'm sure i made some mistakes because I'm not a boot maker by trade, so I did the best i could. Now these are considered "waxed Flesh out" single stitched down construction.

These boots have always been special to me. My father was a longshoreman for 35 years after he came back from Vietnam. The steel-toe Iron Ranger was his work boot of choice for his entire career…up to his retirement. You did an amazing job on these and brought back so many memories! Thanks Steve!

Your Dad would be proud of this pair as I"m sure you made him when he was here. I also worked with my father and even though I retired some years back still seek his approval in my mind, he made me the craftsman and man that I am today. Great video and work but missed your commentary❤

Pops be smiling' right now and sayin': 'Das m'boy right 'dere!!" Nicely done Steve. I bet I know what your spawn get for Christmas when their hooves are done growing. The break-in begins getting that footbed just right. Try slathering a load of Bick4 all over the inside. It made break-in of all my AEs a lot quicker with that leather softened up a tad.
