i once watched a shoemaker draw the pattern, he drew the model exactly on the last and then the shoe was beautifully proportioned exactly as it should be and as he wanted it to be. He told me that you can never work accurately with such a shoemaker's circle because the proportions are not exact. I actually think your finished shoes should be set lower in the derby because then the shoe looks nicer. what do you think of my criticism?
I think that there are many ways to do it. I feel more comfortable doing it this way. But I will give it of course another try because I change the pattern every time. There's no standart.

Dude, you need a sharper japanese skiving knife. That one's a safety hazard. I noticed your stropping angle at the beginning was way too steep, it should follow the angle of the blade which is preferably 10-15 degrees. If you're looking for a new one, ask a blacksmith or a knifemaker to make one out of RWL-34 or similar (powdered stainless steel). It will be worth it, trust me.
