  • See the whole process of making bespoke boots. I show you how I made the pattern for the boot upper, sewing the upper and how I handwelted all leatherparts together.
    Also I made the thread for welting from Ramie by hand.
    Furthermore you can see me handlasting, making the heelstiffeners from vegtan leather and the toepuff.
    The leather comes from the tannery Kobel in northern Germany
    The insole leather comes from the tannery Martin, black forest Germany
    The last comes from lastmaker Spenlé in Germany
    If you also want an handmade, bespoke boot you can write me an email on for more information.

    I am amazed that any real craftsman can earn a living these days. You’d have to make $96/hr to cover a living. That's a pair of boots sold from start to finish every 7 hours. That's a pair of boots per day. OMH!!

    Benutzt du auch dasselbe Leder für Innensohle wie Außensohle, oder benutzt du da eine flexiblere Version oder Schulterleder und wie dick ist dein innensohlenleder?

    i once watched a shoemaker draw the pattern, he drew the model exactly on the last and then the shoe was beautifully proportioned exactly as it should be and as he wanted it to be. He told me that you can never work accurately with such a shoemaker's circle because the proportions are not exact. I actually think your finished shoes should be set lower in the derby because then the shoe looks nicer. what do you think of my criticism?

    • @kustomkraftworkshop8593
      @kustomkraftworkshop8593  5 месяцев назад +1

      I think that there are many ways to do it. I feel more comfortable doing it this way. But I will give it of course another try because I change the pattern every time. There's no standart.

    Dude, you need a sharper japanese skiving knife. That one's a safety hazard. I noticed your stropping angle at the beginning was way too steep, it should follow the angle of the blade which is preferably 10-15 degrees. If you're looking for a new one, ask a blacksmith or a knifemaker to make one out of RWL-34 or similar (powdered stainless steel). It will be worth it, trust me.
