What's the difference between town and city? I mean.. What's the benefit of the cities there? I want to put my HQ on city but some towns are more attractive. Because their location.
@@DBT1007 wiki.openttd.org/en/Manual/Towns#cities says this about it: "A city is a special form of town that will grow twice as fast as a regular town. A city is also larger to begin with. hate to be the party pooper, but a desert town only needs at least one delivery of food of water delivered every 50 days. So his hundred thousand pop city could grow just fine with as little as a single gallon.
@@XXLandorinXX sure thing, yet in the early years this can be very hard especially when the food facility is located far away from the town you want to grow and you only got steam trains who are quite slow. But yeah, due to the great randomness of the game, everyone experiences a different game
Imagine if we actually built and then leveled skyscrapers, to make room for a small house only to demo that small house a year later for another skyscraper.

Just as a tip: You can make cities grow faster by building roads for them. The way city growth works is that, from a central point in the city, usually the position where said city has its initial crossroads, every time the city hits a growth tick, an agent will go through all the roads connected to the city, and check if there is space next to any of them for building houses. If it fails to find a position, it will instead build a new road adjacent to an existing one. By building roads connected to the city, you can make sure all the growth checks go towards increasing the size of the city population.
Friggin awesome. I remember a friend of mine back in the day loved doing this. Me however, I was all about the Dollar signs. I could only focus on the most profitable ways of making money. Poor me. I only cared about the numbers lol. Wishing to be more like my friend from back in the day and actually enjoying things like that.
Good normal bot is actually good in the long run. To make u motivated to advance forward. Creating new routes. Plus, if u enable buying share, u can buy that big company bot. AdmiralAI is always the best. and actually those weak bots are actually bad. they spamming roads and rails and some stuff.. such a pain. not beauty/aesthetic..
I love OpenTTD, i played this game from 1995 till now 2022. And love to play Trained and railway track. It's awesome and chalenge my brain for effective and effieciency with lots of train (200 train my record with 10 city and 10 track station) and no traffic jam.
How did you make your city grow so much? I have been in mine for 45 years and I literally have a population of 1,500 in each one, and if I create more transportation, some are empty because of the few people and I lose money. I wouldn't be understanding how the game works. Help! :c
Hello, M Banini, in opened version, there are an option in game you would choose the town road layout in game. if my memory is collected, there are 2 x 2, 3 x 3 and original ttd or random. After you picked, the tower will follow that rules to build road when it’s glow. In my video, I did build some road for my vehicles but mostly it’s built by the town ☺️
@dmprax, Click on the town name, than press "Location" once, your screen will move to center of town, do this every year in game, finish the time lapse :D
There is an opportunity to invest in the city’s infrastructure as a means to support growth and increase local authority rating. Doing this will also cause the city to upgrade its streets for one year.
It does, but I was also fund new building every fews month, it grow itself normally but in the video, that grow faster than normal as it affected by my funding
@@PerkasaRahmadani Any questions about the game are welcome, everyone starts at the same spot and learn from each other. btw, the roads (houses also) in tower requests you have some business to grow (delivery passages/goods or factory belongs to the tower), otherwise, it grow super slow or not growing at all
Now remove all of your business and watch it turn into detroit

Leave the trains so you can ship the jobs out of the city, just like Cleveland.

Impressive, especially on a Desert Map. I don't wanna know how many gallons of water and tons of food we're needed for this haha
