A24 movies never had Charles Bronson machine gun’n and blowing away mfs on a full city scale.
Cannon films had some of the greatest fun action films of my youth!!! I'll always love them.

Cannon Films was better than A24 Pictures.

I'd go cannon and art over A24.
I like fun escapism films full of action an I can enjoy creative an artistic films that are thought provoking an intriguing when they are done well as long as they are not pretentious.
I also like it when the 2 mix an work well together in a film.

The Cannon Group FTW!! Fantastic job on another "Vs" video A24 didn't stand a chance at all IMHO.
I actually watched the Canon documentary a few nights ago (not perfect but informative and enjoyable) and I have to say that I would rather rot my brain and be happy with Canon than be educated and depressed with whatever crap A24 puts out.
Plus Canon has Chuck Norris and our lord and savior Charles Bronson. That’s an instant win.
Wow, this is more like "Cannon: movies made to entertain you and help you escape from bad moments in life" vs "A24: piece of garbage, trying to be better/more elite than you movies"
Cannon is for a normal person just wanting fun.
A24 is for a person who thinks they are better than the average person and wants to be seen as upperclass and above the rest.
P.s. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Part 2 is a better horror movie than Hereditary and Midsommar COMBINED! and I love saying it.

Number One with a Bullet is a Cannon film that doesn't get talked about as much. I watched that on Tubi in my opinion a decent buddy cop movie.

For me, I obviously prefer Canon. I don't understand nor even believe the fandom over A24. For starters the fact that I know it by name and know what to expect, in this day and age is saying something. How often do we know what to expect by little studio names nowadays? Maybe after the fact, after we realize what something was looking back, similar to Canon. But we didn't automatically know back then. When I see the A24 logo or the Neon logo, it may as well be the Netflix logo. It's just a current fad right now. And the people that love those movies don't seem to be into other movies. They are all part of that new generation that act like watching a movie that's more than 2 years or old, or even worse, a movie that isn't being talked about on social media, is totally unheard of. They cling to one actor or actress, who's most likely known from some other niche teen show or movie and now it's the best studio ever. Same drawn out, vague crap Netflix does. Like this new word that's everywhere "atmospheric". This horror is atmospheric, a new atmospheric tale...just a cheap excuse to explain to the view that you are about to watch a movie that has nothing in it but maybe 2 scenes. This is a concept that never existed. It's just drawn out movies with no content, and more "Style" than substance. Not just horror either, everything. Because the art of making these movies is gone and the studios want more output than better quality. Sorry for the big comment lol.

Cannon all day yet A24 is good when not doing horror
Not all Cannon was schlock. They produced great movies like Love Streams and Runaway Train.
More people watched those Cannon films. The A24 stuff came along in the streaming era where everything is so fragmented and video stores were long gone. Lots of people also watched those Cannon films on cable tv which A24 doest have since cable is basically dead.
How about Iron Claw and Civil War?
Im gonna see longlegs in a few days and I really hope to god that isnt an a24 type movie cause I hate 99.9% of their films.
I need to be reminded on what movies cannon films had however cause I forgot.

Cannon is the one for me. A24 feels like the slightly more pretentious cousin of Blumhouse.

Escapism is exactly what's missing in films today. Whenever I watch 80's flicks like Commando, Rocky 3 and 4, Shocker, Nightmare on rlm street 3, they leave me with a smile on my face. And Cannon did exactly that withDeath Wish 3, Over the top, Cobra. If I want political shit I will turn on the news... Except I will never do that. Life is short, and you shouldn't waste it getting irritated by BS spoken by some pretentious uptight dipshits.
What do you think of iron claw?
I really enjoyed it. The fact that they omitted one of the brothers is really shitty, and the movie could be a little longer, but I thought it was well acted, had a great message to it about a father trying to accomplish his dreams through his sons, and unknowingly ruining their lives in the process. Really good film overall, my second favourite of last year ( my fave is Godzilla minus one).

No brainer. Cannon Films easily wins. A24 horror films are overrated as hell. But when they don't do horror, The Iron Claw, Uncut Gems Everything and Everywhere, are good.
I even enjoy Free Fire even though Brie Larson is in that film.
And I still respectfully disagree with you matt on your main criticisms of the lighthouse and midsommar so dont try to take it personal please cause otherwise I agree so many a24 films are garbage.

@@Johnlindsey289 I mean I saw ex machina, lamb , into the forest, killing of sacred deer, macbeth and green knight and they werent horror and I thought they were very boring.
