I don't. Tommy has his life, he can't just drop everything for Joel's project. And yet, it would benefit the world so maybe just a hair of blame on him
Yes because he did not let his brother know he was okay. That was the entire plot driver. If he had messaged Joel none of the rest of this would have happened. Tess would still be alive for starters.
The movie is "The Goodbye Girl" - a story about an unlikely father figure that has to leave but ultimately promises to return :) very fitting to the plot
Song at the end was a cover of Never Let Me Down Again by Depeche Mode. Not sure who the girl was that was singing but it's a good, slowed down rendition of the original
I have actually never thought about that point you made about hot summers. In apocalypse situations they're always like oh no but it's so cold outside, but the heat would be so bad as well!
Cordyceps can be carried by multiple species but only affect one. The monkeys were infected meaning they won’t turn, but if they bite a person they will. That said, while the first episode shows us dogs can detect the infection, this dog was probably just a scare tactic. If that dog was ripping up infected it would be a carrier, risking any person it normally came into contact with. Also, this group has a similar dog in the game named Buckley. Apparently he can’t/doesn’t do much, but he’s good to have around.
How would the monkeys be infected? The only way that these monkeys could be infected if they could be infected by cordyceps which is not the case, would be by being bitten. We have seen that the infected don't bite animals. What we have seen such as with the bison in episode 4 the animals are actually thriving because the humans aren't around to cause them harm. Even if the infected wanted to as fast as they are they are no match for the speed, agility and intelligence of monkeys. Cordyceps aren't carried by multiple species. They can only spread through infecting a host and using it to infect another host. They cannot use another species as a carrier, they need a host that becomes a host through infection, they don't hitch rides on other species. Dogs can detect disease in humans through scent, they are shown to do that right now with many cancers. In Ellie's case the dog began growling at first because it detected something but was confused by her strange scent signature. In the first episode the dog Mercy reacted to the scent of the early stage of infection in the grandmother like dogs detecting early stages of cancer that don't show up in other ways yet. The dog checking out Joel and Ellie was not a bluff, if it scented infection and had been trained to attack it would have and it would not become infected by doing so.
@@kkjhn41 Not sure why you wrote so much when you don’t know what you’re talking about. I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt that you’re new to the series. 1) Biting is not the only way to cause infection. Transfer of body fluids and ingestion work too. These monkeys were either injected with infected blood or fed cordyceps contaminated food. 2) The infected do attack animals sometimes. It’s an inconsistency that I don’t really like, but they do nonetheless. But these monkeys were not attacked by infected anyways. 3) The Fireflies were experimenting with infected monkeys at the university lab. When they left, they released the monkeys. Joel even mentions this. The researcher who released the monkeys got bit by one and shot himself before he turned. 4) Cordyceps in both the real world and The Last of Us can be carried by many species but only affect one. This is not news and is part of how the CBI Pandemic started. 5) Mercy detected the neighbour’s infection while it was still incubating. Ellie’s is finished incubating and still gets detected by scanners. There is no logical reason why a dog could recognize the neighbour’s infection but not Ellie’s. This may just be an oversight for added tension. 6) However, if the dog is Buckley, then that would explain everything. It appears to be Buckley, and Buckley is not an attack dog. If he was biting into infected, then he would be a carrier. Your comment is over explained and objectively wrong.
recommending "hoodwinked", "racing stripes", "flushed away", "the boxtrolls", "the dark crystal" (reboot series and film), "mowgli: legend of the jungle", "watership down" (reboot series), "the book of life" and "a monster in paris"
Fantastic episode. Like every episode so far. As far as I know, the Divacup was launched in 2003. So it's just in time for the series. Lucky. 😁 I think the reason why Henry is shown again at the beginning was for the fans, because that's exactly how the cut had been made in the game. One shot, then black, then dam. The reason why Joel doesn't teach Ellie much or let her do it things is that she wouldn't be cargo anymore. Such things create a mutual connection that Joel did not want until then. He doesn't want to give her the option to take care of him. Just like Sarah did back then. I mean she did the housekeeping, made sure he wore his shirt the right way around ect. In this episode, however, he unconsciously refers to her as family during dinner, because she is allowed to stay at the table while he expects Maria to leave. Fortunately, after the quarrel between the two, everything changed. The dog here has noticed that something is wrong with Ellie, but he has also noticed that there is no danger from her. Something Fedra's detectors can't detect. They only know black (red) and white (green), just like Fedra is. And of course, Ellie is infected, otherwise the detector would not have shown red. Who knows how many immunes have actually died from such a scanner. Dogs are the better scanners. Because of Joel's injury. I think that's done far more realistically here than in the game. I mean falling off the second floor, being impaled and then endless running to the horse without bleeding out. Piedro leaning on Bella, would certainly look funny with the difference in size. 😁 Maria to Ellie: "Be careful who you put your faith in. The only people who can betray us are the one we trust." Probably the most important sentence of this episode if not of the whole series. Maria knows people and she is no bullshit. Joel to Ellie: "Dream of sheep ranches on the moon." This sentence says so much. Joel already connects Ellie's dreams with his. But he does not see this so clearly at the time and still tries to prevent the inevitable. Ellie drank from Joel's liquor and it was "STILL gross". I think that was a callback to Ellie's flashback DLC. This episode was a feast for everyone who played Part 2. we met Dina (Ellie yelled at her as she dined), properly Jessie (cinema), Shimmer, Bison Bar, sheeps, kids playing snowball, Astronauts, Jackson see from the inside. Simply fantastic. The campfire scene was not in the game, but was originally supposed to be included. So far, only a concept art was left in the bonus material of the game. I think the scene would have been important in the game because it underlines once again that both Marlene and Joel are absolutly sure that it is possible to produce a cure.
😺Stella!!! 😺 Ya dissapoint! 😞 Ya don't know who Sally Ride is?!? BOO! She was America's Daughter back in the day! Notice how both animals "Love" Lady Mormont?!? lol The town is apparently a real town they took over.
Slight continuity error at 21.45. Ellie is sitting in the saddle but when you see then going through the gate, Joel is in the saddle and she is behind him - Ellie would have had to get off the horse again for Joel to get on first for this to happen without any acrobatics being involved.
Have you guys done Titanic? I don’t think you have but I could just missed the video or you saw the movie but didn’t record it. If you haven’t can you react to that? It’s a classic.
Hey White Noise Reacts, I have another movie you might enjoy, which is called Living. The movie includes Bill Nighy in it also. Who done the voice for Davy Jones from POTC and Rattlesnake Jake from Rango
I think Joel is mad at Tommy because while he went through hell to try to save him, Tommy was getting married and moving on with his life 😢 Pedro’s sheer terror during that scene he finally opened up to Tommy. Holy crap 😢. I felt that. I’m terrified to lose my loved ones too. 🐑🌕
Do you blame Tommy? Should he have gone with his brother Joel?
No i do not blame tommy.
I don't. Tommy has his life, he can't just drop everything for Joel's project. And yet, it would benefit the world so maybe just a hair of blame on him
Yes because he did not let his brother know he was okay. That was the entire plot driver. If he had messaged Joel none of the rest of this would have happened. Tess would still be alive for starters.
it's a very difficult situation, i love joel and ellie and i'm happy he changed his mind and keep traveling with her. They love each other
The movie is "The Goodbye Girl" - a story about an unlikely father figure that has to leave but ultimately promises to return :) very fitting to the plot
Pedro and Bella were superb in That Scene. Absolutely heartbreaking.
she would be more scared without joel (being alone) and joel would be more scared with her (losing her); the parallel and themes each episode OOOOF
I'm glad Joel got to heal. Damn can't even imagine having to carry these new feelings on top of the 20 years of bottled up ones.
Song at the end was a cover of Never Let Me Down Again by Depeche Mode. Not sure who the girl was that was singing but it's a good, slowed down rendition of the original
It's a cover by Jessica Mazin, Co-creator Craig's daughter.
And the original one was played at the end of episode one
21:11 THANK YOU!!!! I swear nobody else has said this but I really can’t think of a good reason Tommy can’t come besides stealth/one pair of tracks
I have actually never thought about that point you made about hot summers. In apocalypse situations they're always like oh no but it's so cold outside, but the heat would be so bad as well!
Yeah damn, cold is one thing, but imagine having to be alert for humans and infected with dehydration confusion symptoms and potential heat stroke
The song at the end being a slower, more solemn-sounding cover of the same song that ended episode one, how poetic. “80’s means trouble.”
The movie they watched in the theater was “The Goodbye Girl”

Can we just talk about how good the CGI monkeys were? I legit thought they were real for a sec 🤣
I love that Winchester hug Joel and Tommy had. If you've seen the series Supernatural you know what I'm talking about
It’s an HBO show called “The Last of Us”. Assuming any character has plot armour would be a mistake.
Thanks for the reaction girls!
That scene. So good. All the awards
This show continues to be a gutt punch every week.

Stella looks fresh. Great reaction
How come sometimes it syncs up great and sometimes there’s like four seconds delay?

Plot armor? Has any part of this story followed those kind of rules? They killed off a little deaf kid in the last episode.
