First of all thank you so much man .love your videos.i started triple jumping this year and my first jump was 12.20m and after one month i jumped 13.20m. my technique is very bad at this point. my phase 1,2,and 3 are not good.can i fix that in a month? Cause I got competition in less than a month i need to jump atleast 14m can I jump that by fixing technique?
Thank you so much once again, keep it up! I have a quick question, how many sets of bounding you think is healthy? Of course it depends on how much experience you have but I'm wondering because I can tend to overtrain pretty easily I think that's how I ended up with multiple injuries last year sadly.
Not sure how I missed this comment, but you basically answered the question. If you’re getting injured often, you need to go back to the basics of bounding with lots of barefoot and low intensity drills every week. I would go as far as saying they should replace your bounding for at least a few weeks to allow your body to recover while still gaining strength.
@@oolamigoke Ur good, u still replied, thank you! Another quick question tho: How about once I am healthy how often/how much should I be bounding? Basically an amount that doesn't feel excessive or is it more complicated than that? Also how many sets/reps of bounding do you do? just curious lol
@@djmath3w-7 All depends on where your are in your training season lol. For starters, I think bounding should be done at least twice per week. And yes, make sure you're able to fully recover between sessions. As for sets & reps, I usually do 4-6 sets of varying reps, both on the runway and on the field.
@@oolamigoke Appreciate it! Last question! How about if you already have good experience, would 3 or 4 times a week of bounding be aight with 4-6 sets (or does it really just depend on how fast u can recover personally, and I’m just overthinking it lol?) and I’m asking cuz there’s no jumps coach at my college 🤦🏾♂️ and so I have to compete unattached.
@@djmath3w-7 Lol definitely overthinking it, but you did answer your own question. Just listen to your body and remember quality over quantity is what matters most. You'll progress faster than you think with that approach.
I don't have any footage of me running cross country because it was 2006-07 and I didn't have a smartphone lol. But we used XC was for building general strength and work capacity, so there wasn't much overlap with speed mechanics until the end of the 5k, at least in the way I ran it.
Hey man, i was wondering if you could give me some advice, im a sophomore with a PR of 42ft, my 1st phase is 16ft, second is 10, 3rd is 16, any advice to bring that second phase closer to the other two?
I’m a sophomore and this is my first year of track, I’m currently jumping at 37’2 but I know I can get more but I’m having a mental block when I’m landing from the 36 board, I’m around 8 feet away from the board and I know I can land further than what I do. any tips on how to fix that?
Get more confident in your technique with jump drills and bounding, then just go for it. Mental blocks are resolved by attacking your weaknesses over time.
I personally only use protein powder, fish oil, a selection of vitamins, and some other natural supplements for general health. Nothing wrong with creatine if used wisely with proper training, and lots of water intake.
Been using a lot of what you have been teaching and just jumped 40' 6 my third meet jumping
Love to see it!! Keep it up
Big shoutout from Paris. I love your energy and your mindset. I really hope you the best in your goals and I’m still waiting for other videos 💪🏿💪🏿

💯could you give some examples of the rehab & prefab that you do?
Sure. Check the next few uploads 👌🏿
Could you please make a video on how to measure your triple jump run-up🙏?
Working on this one! Will be one of the next uploads.
Went from 12,37m to 12,50m in No time, without becoming better. I only switched from a single arm to Double arm swing

My pleasure ✊🏿
Could you list some of the small detail training please.
Needed this thank you
can you show us footage of your cross country mechanics? I kinda wanna see how well they match up with your speed mechanics personally. Cheers!

Btw I'm pretty sure its an issue of over rotation and jumping too high on my first phase
