If there's anything this video proves is that deep down inside The Arctic Monkeys are a class act. No matter what people say about Alex being an asshole, I like to think this video proves otherwise.
It's true though. Everyone I've seen on sites like Tumblr who's met him recently said he's very polite and nice. I think he comes off as an "asshole" because he's a bit shy and doesn't want to put himself out there outside of the concert environment, but he's perfectly willing to take a photo with someone if they ask him.
He's not an arsehole at all, people from across the globe quite often just don't get his banter but it's a Yorkshire and English thing. He has a very dead pan sense of humor but you can tell he's genuinely quite humble. Not to mention, I think anybody would find it hard not to be slightly cocky after having five No. 1 albums and being one of the biggest musical names on the planet...
Bigby Wolf exactly! im a quiet shy person myself and many people tell me that at first they thought im arrogant and cold - just after getting to know me they realise its just me beeing shy and trying to hide how awkward i feel meeting new folks.
The bit at the end when he says "I got the whole thing" excitedly was like he wasn't sure whether it was filming or not when he handed it over to turner. Then the relief when he gets it back and realises that it was recording lmao. Also did anyone see matt launch his drum sticks at the end of the song. Legend. I bet some lucky fan just got smacked in the head with a drumstick. And was like dafuq!!
Helders does that all the time, has like 5 pairs of drumsticks with him when he comes on so he can just randomly chuck them at points throughout the shows ahah
Am I the only one who thinks Matt looks so much cuddlier from up there? He's like "boom a boom a tssssh boom" and he kinda looks pleased with himself. It's like he's enjoying knowing where everything is, singing at his que and then goes "bom a bom a boom boom baroom tshshthhshhths"
Lewis Callaghan The View from Alex's hair The View from the Spearmint Rhino The View from Jamie's beard The View from the Toilet after last night's gig When D'you think we can expect these?
xLilPuddinTater its easier to play drums and do backing vocals here than sing amd play guitar..its rly fcked up for guitar cuz u also do 2 things at once and sing and you play more complex rhytm than drums here
so awesome. I love how you can hear his backup vocals everytime he looks to the left. I play the drums (obviously not as good as Matt) and this really puts it into perspective how hard it must be to play and sing at the same time
I've watched this video at least 200 times and i always get a laugh from the female voice that answers Alex's "...i have a couple of questions." with "a couple of questions???".And when Alex says the "robust enough to throw..." part, she goes "DO IT!".If it would have broken i can picture her saying "i didn't think you would actually throw it.".i want to party with her.0:25
My girlfriend, (now wife) bought us tickets to this show. Even though it felt like we we're standing in the same spot for 5 hours to get up 5 rows back, it was definitely one of our best concert experiences ever! Though Matt and Kim's 10th anniversary of Grand in Brooklyn is a very close second, I'll never forget this! Thanks for uploading!! The place went nuts!
Holy sh*t I was there tonight, and this is by far the coolest f*cking thing I've ever witnessed at any concert, the footage is incredible and the drums sound amazing.. props for uploading it right away. This absolutely has to be a first. Wouldnt be surprised to see a bunch of artists gopro-ing their performances.
This is surreal! I've always been a fan but lately I've been obsessed with Matt's playing and can't wait to learn how to play the drums. Lucky you for the video!
I strapped a GoPro to my head while I was drumming. Me and my mates got all the way though our concert and once we played it back we realized the audio didn't record.
Hearing Matts harmonies here more clearly than Alex’s singing makes them sound sort of funny and I can’t help thinking it’s what I sound like singing along to their tracks😂
Just realised that drummers literally hear fuck all on stage, realise now why headsets are really important, still impressive how they always keep that rhythm tho!
"The View From The Drummer's Head"
You sir, deserve more likes!
That's 'Matt Helders' to you
***** could also be referring to the "The view from..." Series that Matt used to do ;)
The drummers get the best view at any show... :D

The drums sound so cool. It's like a totally different song from this angle.
The expression on his face when he gets his camera back and realises its still recording.. totally worth the price of everything haha
Alex Turner takes a go pro camera from a fan onto the stage, every AM fan gets a go pro camera
Go pro sales 📈📈
i may be nine years late but your comment not has 505 likes.. the true golden number 🙏🙏

Exactly. I feel like calling Alex an asshole is such a n00b thing to do anyway.
+Bigby Wolf I agree, every shy person always gets called an "asshole" I do all the time for not really. Lol

This video really lets you appreciate the wonders of Matt's drumming, absolutely perfect.
So true
Listen to those fills. You can tell how much he loves playing.
chairmanmeow1973 those fills are legendary
chairmanmeow1973 what's a fill?
@@collegesir9685 playing the beat of the song and also improvising some parts
@@koredpliply8753 these fills aren’t improvised
i can hear Matt's falsettos so clearly here, it's awesome
maybe if i watch this enough times matt's talent will rub off on me
Bro I wish
It's been 7 years, did Matt's talent rub on you yet?

The camera kept shutting off throughout the concert for no reason. I was so relieved to find it recording (obviously) lol
Helders does that all the time, has like 5 pairs of drumsticks with him when he comes on so he can just randomly chuck them at points throughout the shows ahah
Most drummers do that after the last song in the set.
Henry14arsenal2007 Helders does it about 6 times a set though haha
SixSquaredFilms that's probably matt's blessing XD
0:40 *flips laptop upside down to see alex's face*
netflixer ..... netflixer i see you in mostly every AM video. You're a legend.
She is indeed
PS. Why do i think it's "she"?
Culei63 because I am a she lol
i feel attacked
3:47 u can hear matt's giggles omg
Lool you can hear Matt's falsetto parts so well it sounds weird hearing the song from this part of the stage
Justin Starr weird, but cool!
Matt Helders works that drum set like a mad scientist.
Matt: "How do we get it back?" :')

i get playing the guitar and singing, but seriously how can you SMASH the drums and sing falsetto at the same like wtf
xLilPuddinTater its easier to play drums and do backing vocals here than sing amd play guitar..its rly fcked up for guitar cuz u also do 2 things at once and sing and you play more complex rhytm than drums here
yeah drums is just a beat theres no conflicting melodies so its not as hard
yeah because its so easy to play drums, not!
Alex Turner sings and plays LEAD guitar tho, even harder. Try and sing the verses of "R U Mine?" playing the riffs...
Callum Price you need to know how to breathe and trust me keeping on time whilst doing drum fills is hard. take a look at don henley
hahaha, he has to turn his head to the left to sing. i love it
Sam Young I assume the mic was there and thats why ^-^
mhm, his mic is always on his left
so awesome. I love how you can hear his backup vocals everytime he looks to the left. I play the drums (obviously not as good as Matt) and this really puts it into perspective how hard it must be to play and sing at the same time
Love how you can hear him sing, such a class band!

I guess your GoPro was Matt's... Afternoon's Hat. (YEEEEEEEEEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH)
Of course he fucking catches it so goddamn casually.

Matt's definitely the best and this video is just crazy !!!
So THIS is what Matt sees when drumming on stage. I would simply pass away from stage fright
Epic. Was pointing you out to everyone earlier in the show. Sure beats all our camera phones.
It is such an honnor to see what our boy Matt sees when he plays
I think about this video everyday
This is an excellent POV
