This is Lions Rock in South Africa. They have received numerous rescued lions and other big cats already from all over the world. This is just a temporary camp to adjust. They will later on go to a bigger camp with trees, etc. They are very thin now, but will put on weight as they decompress from their previous life and settle down.
Wow they are considered thin! Nice to know they will go to a bigger nicer sanctuary with trees etc--- I was wondering 🤔 about it being very plain and boring there in that enclosure!
We should not be thankful for their rescue, instead we should ask that those who kept them in cage be jailed for abuse. That is why they keep doing it.
My parents never took us to the circus when we were young, when asked why they said they're not going to pay to watch grown men force animals to do acts that are not natural for wild animals, my friends thought my parents were crazy for not taking us but I'm so thankful our parents raised us to have compassion for animals, I never took my children to the circus and gave my kids the same explanation, my kids have rescue animals just like they did growing up,I am going to rescue two more dogs because shelters are overwhelmed with animals everywhere, I know I can't save them all but at least I can give them a loving home.
You're continuing a beautiful legacy. We do not go to the circus either. We went to Thailand last year and we didn't ride elephants for this same reason.

I was taken to a circus when I was little,I hated it and cried to leave. We did leave. No animal deserves to be treated that way,it's not entertaining,it's cruel,plus they are not treated with kindness. A big thank you to all involved in their trip to FREEDOM!!!
The boys bumping each other as they walk is endearing. My eldest sister does the same thing. Thank you for rescuing these beautiful animals and allowing them to grow old together with dignity. To have a semblance of freedom and to have the space to run and play is their birthright.
I agree that no animals should be subjected to horrific cruelty or held in captivity. I am an animal lover of all kinds but was living in ignorance until i made the connection with the farmed animals of this world. When i researched factory farming i transitioned to veganism. That was over 12 yrs ago and i have been more fit and healthy than i was before. Research veganism to find out how to transition if you really want to make a difference.
I noticed that one of the brothers has either arthritis or an old fracture that healed on its own on his right back leg. God bless you for rescuing and keeping them together!

They actually don’t appear too skinny. Generally the will be fed pretty decently. However, when they are cubs, often times their owners try to keep them small for as long as possible, just providing milk as a main substance whuch then leads to degenerative bone growth. You see the one lion his severely bow-legged. That’s most likely from malnutrition as a cub.
I see what you mean the one looked skinny I think he's older or maybe arthritis seems to walk bowlegged maybe anyway so glad their happy and free. And I get the circus or whatever place but there is no need to abuse any animal for anything.
So very glad that they have been rescued. Animals are not entertainment for humans and should not be trophies either! Hopefully they will fatten up and live long and happy lives as they should have been able to do in the first place! They need some enrichment toys to occupy them so they don't get bored imo. 👍🇬🇧🏴🌹

What a wonderful thing you did for them. I live about 60 miles from the elephant sanctuary in Tennessee. It's sad to hear of their history and abuse but it nice to see them free range.

It's not actually that uncommon. Even in the wild, brothers will often bond like this for life, taking over a pride together and defending it together. They might be ferocious to other males and of course to any prey, and quizzically tolerant of their cubs, but they display genuine affection for each other (notably the head-bumps they do on meeting).
Such a wonderful rescue, pure happiness seeing them run free together. No animal should be in a circus, no animals for shows like in Florida and ban these sea shows which are beyond cruel.
These animals were never put on this earth to be our entertainment. Thank God we are finally getting smart & ending this madness & giving these survivors the kind of life they so deserve. I hope they live many, many years to be able to know some form of freedom & be well taken care of & loved. 🙏❤️

It's not actually that uncommon. Even in the wild, brothers will often bond like this for life, taking over a pride together and defending it together. They might be ferocious to other males and of course to any prey, and quizzically tolerant of their cubs, but they display genuine affection for each other (notably the head-bumps they do on meeting).
Such a wonderful rescue, pure happiness seeing them run free together.
No animal should be in a circus, no animals for shows like in Florida and ban these sea shows which are beyond cruel.

These animals were never put on this earth to be our entertainment. Thank God we are finally getting smart & ending this madness & giving these survivors the kind of life they so deserve. I hope they live many, many years to be able to know some form of freedom & be well taken care of & loved. 🙏❤️
