It is amazing how calm these draft breeds are in a crisis. On another channel, a draft horse fell down into a well that nobody knew was there. Just a rotten board covering the hole up. The neighbor showed up with a bobcat and the owner went down into the well and made a sling out of logging straps. They pulled the horse up and over the lip of the well. The horse stood up and gave a big shake and walked off, like it was a normal days activity. So thankful this rescue was successful! I look forward to seeing everyone at the shoeing! Thanks for showing how its done!
My last horse was a draft cross. No fancy breeding, probably one of those PMU foals. But man, he was calm, smart, and loved his people. We got into some messes and he was like 'the humans are here, they'll figure this crap out'. I wouldn't of traded that horse for anything.
@cherylmillard2067 I think Jim Gordon was given a copy of the Budwiser Clyadales wreak at the San Antonio Texas Fat Stock show. Watch that, too. It was also amazing! They were trying to do this fancy turn, and one of the wheel horses got tangled in the harness and fell on his side. The entire team, 7 horses, stopped without being told to and stood perfectly still. They didn't even swish their tails! The grooms looked like ants and sprinted out there. They unhooked the standing horses and led them calmly away. They removed the harness from the fallen horse and then asked him to stand up, which he did. There was great cheering, and the horse marched out like he owned the place. These horses are so smart and sensible! I am still amazed at all of these rescues and thankful to the people who shared them!
😆Ya know it's the same thing with horses and dogs. The smaller they are, the more feisty and sassy they are, while the bigger and biggest ones always want to sit in your lap! You can take a Shetland pony, or a chihuahua and they act and think they are 10 ft. tall and billy bad a##, while a great big draft horse, a Great Dane, Mastiff, Akita, Shepard all think they can lay in your lap to cuddle!
Very impressive emergency rescue! Stressful doesn't even begin to describe these situations especially when its a horse you love. Y'all did an amazing job! And huge kudos to Big Joe for remaining calm the entire time.

@@feedyourownego I have owned horses for over 60 yrs and am still perplexed at how horses can hurt themselves in a very safe environment. Do you own horses? Do you own a large amount of land? Run herds? There are sink holes all over this country, especially on large parts of land. We had them on our 900 acre farm in Louisiana and even on our new 72 acre ranch in Oklahoma. If you knew horses sometimes they can get squirrelly even the most bomb proof ranch horses. Accidents happen. Horses can be accident prone. Horses can get hurt, cut in a pasture and for the life of you, you can’t figure out how or why. So don’t be so quick to judge these people until you have walked a mile in their boots. Have a awesome day💜🙏🏼
@@jjwideawake.9397well I am someone who has owned horses and been around horses my whole life and I can tell you that while I agree that horses can get into accidents, my horses never got into one while I was riding them. Fantastic job getting that big beautiful baby out of there without serious injury! Do not worry about the haters that know nothing about horses and how dangerous this rescue was, nor why time was crucial due to freezing water and mud crushing the legs and body of this horse, or why the nosey doggie getting too close was and could be an issue. I am so glad your horse is safe now! Those are the same people that think you're a mean person for wanting to kill tomato horn worms on your tomato plants.

Knowing how cold it was out there and seeing how quicky he was sinking deeper, they did a phenomenal job getting him out quickly!

I have owned horses for over 60 yrs and am still perplexed at how horses can hurt themselves in a very safe environment.
@Chalupa_Sue "When men get scared, they get angry" (added the comma). That was one of the few intelligent things written in the comments section. Most anger and hatred in this world comes from fear and anxiety. I wish more people understood that.
@ Anger is a secondary emotion. It usually originates from something like fear, shame, betrayal, etc, first. I wish more people understood this and instead of reacting from their anger immediately, would learn to sit with it for a moment and figure out where it’s really coming from.

Knowing how cold it was out there and seeing how quicky he was sinking deeper, they did a phenomenal job getting him out quickly! All these people making negative comments would have ended up losing the horse, standing around wringing their hands, guaranteed. Especially the ones whining about reporting them for animal abuse. They must live their lives in a sterile apartment--if they do have a dog I can guarantee it wouldn't obey them off a leash, because they clearly have no concept of animal behaviour... or of priorities in an emergency situation.
@HH-wq6se
Quicksand - is nothing to fool around with! If you move - you sink deeper faster!
