Yeah, Doom is one of those games that's more concerned with making you feel like a badass than having an understandable story. The basic synopsis is that you play the role of an ancient warrior who the demons call "The Doom Slayer," a figure who is unstoppable in his onslaught and desire to destroy all of Hell. The first entry of the Slayer's Testament from Doom 2016 sums him up best: "In the first age, in the first battle, when the shadows first lengthened, one stood. Burned by the embers of Armageddon, his soul blistered by the fires of Hell and tainted beyond ascension, he chose the path of perpetual torment. In his ravenous hatred he found no peace; and with boiling blood he scoured the Umbral Plains seeking vengeance against the dark lords who had wronged him. He wore the crown of the Night Sentinels, and those that tasted the bite of his sword named him... the Doom Slayer." The story of Doom Eternal is that the demons have come to Earth, and as the Doom Slayer, you have to fight them off single-handedly. In the words of the Doom character King Novik, "Rip and tear, until it is done."
@@Contemo There’s no confirmation that’s canon in the current timeline, we know that Doom Slayer is the same guy from the original games, but it’s unsure how many details made it into the reboot.

I played DOOM Eternal first and then 2016 (already knew the plot for both) and I can’t decide which one I like better honestly. Second one had overall better gameplay (in some ways) but 2016 felt more immersive and had a better feeling to it
The protagonist, Doomguy is an ancient warrior who fought and massacre the Demons for eons(billions of years), so much of it that the Demons themselves and even the higher-ups of the elite demons were so damn afraid of facing against Doomguy. 2 crazier things about Doomguy: -Doomguy was blessed by the Seraphim(the highest ranked male Angel), meaning that the more he kills, the stronger he gets. -Doomguy literally kills the 2km tall Demon, while naked. That was before he gets the praetor suit(the suit he wears that you already saw him on the trailers) Fun Fact: Doomguy had a an adorable pet rabbit named Daisy. In the classic Doom games, the whole reason why he committed Demon genocide in hell was because the Demons killed Doomguy's pet rabbit Daisy.

Been waiting for this one. This game should've won best soundtrack 2020. The lore for the slayer is different since the older games, but it's badass. You should also react to the launch trailer for the game.
I'm pretty sure the lore is the same, though it changes after the original Doom (or was it Doom 2? I forget when exactly) after you go into hell and purge it. Instead of coming back to Earth to find it under attack by the forces of hell, you're instead found wandering hell by the Sentinels, and from there the new Doom 2016 lore kicks in.
The brutality is over the top but honestly when you're playing you barely even notice it. There's rarely any health items to pick up, the most consistent way to get health back is to stun what you're fighting and then do a special melee on it that makes it drop health. Same with ammo, only to get that you have to use the chainsaw. The game is so fast paced and you have to play so aggressively that while you're killing the demons in front of you, you're already planning what you're going to do next. It's almost a game of chess. It's like "OK, I have to shoot that guy's shoulder mounted homing missile launcher off so he doesn't sit back and blast me, I'm going to leave that weaker guy alone so I can kill him quick for health or ammo if I need it, that guy is weak to the plasma rifle so after I pop that missile launcher I'm going after him so he doesn't get a chance to put his shield up and block my shots..." You get the idea. Oh and yeah, that is Earth in those trailers.Turns out that Hell invading the planet and swarming it with demons is really bad for the environment.
Probably already know about this, but this game went out the very same day as Animal Crossing (yes, that cute game of having an island, growin crops and do quiet and happy stuff). And both fandoms went wild. There is a lot of arts, animations, even songs crossing both universes. Most notable is the youtube song by Chalkeaters: "DOOM CROSSING: Eternal horizons". Ahh yes, good ol' Doom. Loved the original Doom 1 and 2 back when I was a young'un, skipped Doom 3 entirely, and then was absolutely ecstatic when Doom 2016 came out and blew away everything in the market that might have dared to compare itself to anything of the kind. 2016's "rebootquel" of the series was incredible, and featured one of the best metal/djent soundtracks of any game ever. And where Doom 2016 turned the carnage and action up to 11, Doom Eternal spun that dial up to 15 lol. Getting into the battle rhythm is almost a transcendent experience lol, where you just flow across the battlefield constantly moving and flirting with death as quickly as you deliver it. These games take all the ultra-violence and intensity of the later Mortal Kombat titles and compress it into the pressurized tank of a flamethrower so you can spray it all over the place in first-person-shooter form. LOVE these games. Dunno what it says about me that some of the most violent games in history are absolutely my jam, but what can I say? Wholesale murder of supremely evil monsters is FUN! XD

This is almost my exact experience - played the first two as a kid, skipped 3 due to not having a powerful enough PC at the time, then heard 2016 was great and picked it up, fell in love with it all over again. The heavy metal soundtrack helps fuel that battle rhythm you mention - it gets you pumped up while also playing a pulsing them where the hectic-looking battle is almost like an intricate dance of death and destruction set to the pulsing guitar riffs. Definitely one of the most impressive reboots of a franchise that I've ever seen!

This is the game your mom doesn't want you to play. But the years later after playing it, you have became gigachad. And you see your memories come back when your kid plays. So you take the controller and play again.
The doom slayer is a total badass, I love this game series. Quite possibly my favorite games to ever come to be. Now, just a little note, the giant demon you saw is known as the icon of sin, the final boss in doom eternal.
I played this game as a kid in the nineties, it's interesting watching these people watch the intro completely blank. For me, the nostalgia in this 60 seconds is enormous, the devs brought back the essence of DOOM! The reintroduction of the Archvile, Arachnotron and Pain Elemental was just awesome. Let alone the final fight with the Icon of Sin. And the orgiinal E1M1 midi soundtrack implemented in the intro. It was soooo good. And the soundtrack reinvented by Mick Gordon, it's unreal! And the chainsaw, followed by the suped-up chanigun - that is DOOM!! I love it!
"Against all the evil that Hell can conjure, all the wickedness that mankind can produce, we will send unto them...only you. Rip and tear. Until it is done." The Doomslayer was once a human, who after his first encounters with the demons of Hell got lost in their realm only to eventually end up on another world where it's people venerated combat and he was forged into a complete weapon. Now the Doomslayer stands as the one force in the universe both the Demons of Hell and Angels of Heaven are terrified of.
It's hard to overstate how exciting this reveal was for Doom fans. Seeing Doom 2's demons and settings fully realized, on top of all the wild new stuff... the hype was incredible. Thankfully it paid off in the game itself, which is amazing (if admittedly a bit cluttered at times).
For better context, the original Doom games is one of the main games that inspired the gameplay from Halo Combat Evolved (Halo 1), Doom is quite literally the Great Great Grandfather of what an FPS can be and it's the franchise that revolutionised the genre many times in the past, now with Doom Eternal it did the same exact thing by showing what an FPS should be like regardless of story (Mainly fun and enjoyable no matter what, instead of hyper "realistic" or grindy like Batlefield or Call Of Duty these days), there is quite a lot of lore in Doom and a lot of it is referenced because in a way, the game just gives you the entire world as a playground and the story is what you see, but you can dig deeper into it and find a lot of things about characters and even world building.
Music. The soundtrack in this game is incredible. I've never played Doom, but maybe I'll play it one day just because of the soundtrack. In the meantime, I use this music for any situation, from cooking to drawing or physical exercises. These sounds are always appropriate.

I would recommend the two of ya's read/listen to the codex of DOOM Eternal more specifically the story of the Knight Sentinels. It explains the three main tribes of the DOOM (aside from humans) the Knight Sentinels, the Maykr's, and the Demons without spoiling much, and how DOOM Guy became the DOOM Slayer.
Doom is one of the greatest games to come into existence. It's mere presence on this earth is a gift from a godly being. You feel godly in every game (besides doom 3) I love these games and I'd love to see more reactions of the doom franchise from you two
Every time I’m feeling like reaction videos, your guys’ content always shows up, you’re up there when it comes to my go-to’s! I’d love to see you two react to the Mortal Kombat 11 cinematic announcement trailer, very gory 😎
Dooms sound track is literally 10/10. Glad you guys got introduced ! I know Beth be putting herself through hell watching kills but maybe an idea could be reacting to some kill executions 🤣
Doom Eternal has the best gameplay loop ever, it's so much fun. Also a really hard game when you first start playing. So the "really hard to beat but really satisfying" is spot on. Funny thing is, the gameplay you see in these trailers looks so slow compared to how people play it today. If you watch someone who's good at the game now, it's just absolutely insane to watch. This is a single player game that came out in March 2020 and people - myself included - are still playing it. Best 100 % speedrun on the hardest difficulty without major glitches currently is 1h 53m (the campaign usually takes about 12-15 hours for a new player).
Oooh for the 2016 game, there's one trailer called "Doom: Fight Like Hell". That one is a live action trailer. Then there's the 2015 gameplay trailer, the campaign trailer, then the launch trailer. (These show the action but you already know what's it like just by watching Eternal's gameplay lol) This game is definitely metal and hardcore lol didn't expect you guys to do a reaction to this at all haha
The final trailer you watched is also the intro to the game amazing game so much fun there was hell to pay :) loved your reaction your eyes almost popped out of your head watching the second video lol doom has that effect lol
All it needs is Arnold Schwarzenegger from Total Recall saying “Get your A** to Mars” This reminds me a lot of Bulletstorm, You guys should check out the trailers to that
I’m sure it’s been suggested but if you’re looking for more doom another vid idea could be every glory kill from doom 2016 and every glory kill from doom eternal. There are a variety of demons in the doom games and there’s a mechanic where once you shoot a demon enough and it’s basically one shot away from dying you can melee it to get a brutal close quarter kill animation that gives you health, that’s what most of the moments in this trailer that look so brutal are.
Best part of the game is when one of the Slayers allies says "you can't just blow a hole in Mars?!" And then mission prompt pops up saying [blow a hole in Mars]
Doom(since 2016). One of the few franchises that is not criminal to mention with Warhammer. You guys should watch some cutscenes only compilation of the first new Doom from 2016 to get into the lore.
So for the guy who has the big red energy axe, they're called; Marauders which are a group of Night Sentinels that once fought alongside the Doom Slayer but were resurrected after death by demonic energy, corrupting them in the process. The axe they have is made of pure Argent/Hell energy "Against all the evil that Hell can conjure, all the wickedness that mankind can produce. We will send unto them... only you. Rip and tear, until it is done..."
Doomguy started killing demons in 1993, and is still doing it to this day. He is rage and brutality incarnate. Doom is Eternal. Great reaction by the way.
I’ve been a fan of ID software’s work since the beginning. I have an have played every version of Doom they made. The reboot of the series with Doom 2016 was down right incredible. Eternal is simply bliss, for a Doom fan, and the ending I never saw coming in the DLC’s. You need to check out the trailers for Doom 2016 to get the full picture. And the trailers for Doom Eternal DLC’s are just as good.
If you haven't played this yet, you should. It's a pretty fantastic game, and really shows how much fun a shooter can actually be when it concentrates almost entirely on its mechanics, the developers have called it "combat chess", and that really comes across in how you have to approach every fight if you want to come out alive. Every weapon has a specific use, every enemy is both an obstacle and potentially a means of survival, and mobility is king.
We want to check out some more from the game but not sure if we will be playing it because we aren’t that skilled and we heard it can be pretty tough 🤗
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames The game is surprisingly good at making you better at shooters gradually, I'd suggest playing on a lower difficulty if you're not used to shooters.

Rock on Doom Guy! 😎🤟😁
Doom might have the most focused combat in gaming. Every mechanic is designed to get you to move closer to the enemies.
😎🤟
It's hard to overstate how exciting this reveal was for Doom fans. Seeing Doom 2's demons and settings fully realized, on top of all the wild new stuff... the hype was incredible. Thankfully it paid off in the game itself, which is amazing (if admittedly a bit cluttered at times).
😎🤟
If it is a bit cluttered at times you are not killing the demons fast enough :P
Haha, you should start a Cooking with Doom channel 😂😁
Play DOOM Eternal, the playing with the music is a completely different experience to just listening to the music.
You guys should definitely check out the doom eternal gameplay trailer because that had everybody hyped for what was to come
We’ve been hearing that’s a must see 🤩
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames oh it's good they put that trailer together really well now you could obviously watch the trailer and nothing else but there's also the footage from the convention where this was shown and it's awesome just to hear the people as the trailer plays
Here it is the footage from Quakecon where this was shown: ruclips.net/video/CGq8Ee2gOe4/видео.html
3:05 you saw that but this is the franchise that started it all
Say* not saw
Was more just drawing comparisons to stuff we’ve seen than saying this was a copy of those 🤗
Doom is Halo's great grandpa and this is his new Lamborghini.
Haha love that 😁
Demons killed his pet rabbit, so Doomguy's reaction is technically justifiable.
3:58 Indeed. Some might say, it's Ultra-Violence.
😂😎🤟
1. "This world" is Earth.
2. Buy it. Play it. Live it.
'nuff said.
:)
😎🤟
Oh I forgot to tell. Congrats on 60k subs 🥳
Thanks! 🥳🥳🍾🥂
This is almost a remake/re-imagining of Doom 2 : Hell on Earth (1994). A game with which many of us grew up playing with.
But it’s a continuation of the story right? 🤔
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames The continuation of the story of the 2016 game , yes. However , like the first two Doom titles from the 90s , the first game takes place on mars and the second one on earth.
doom was the first ever fps shooter that was so violent even with the old low texture it would still give a kid nightmares in the 90s
😯
Holy shit ITS HERE
This game is a non stop adrenaline rush that is RELENTLESS
🥳🥳😃
The guy with the gun is named doom guy. He finishes them off like in mortal kombat 😁
I'm usually hesitant about franchise reboots but 2016 DOOM and Eternal were absolutely amazing.
😎🤟
I would recommend the two of ya's read/listen to the codex of DOOM Eternal more specifically the story of the Knight Sentinels. It explains the three main tribes of the DOOM (aside from humans) the Knight Sentinels, the Maykr's, and the Demons without spoiling much, and how DOOM Guy became the DOOM Slayer.
Thanks for rec! 😃
Doom is one of the greatest games to come into existence. It's mere presence on this earth is a gift from a godly being. You feel godly in every game (besides doom 3) I love these games and I'd love to see more reactions of the doom franchise from you two
More Doom will surely come 😎🤟😈
3:39 Kens vs Bethanys reaction. Beautiful.
😂🤗
“Where’s the story?”
Doom:”Here’s a shotgun”
Every time I’m feeling like reaction videos, your guys’ content always shows up, you’re up there when it comes to my go-to’s! I’d love to see you two react to the Mortal Kombat 11 cinematic announcement trailer, very gory 😎
🥳🥳🤗😊🥰 We do have that in our request list to check out eventually 😊
Dooms sound track is literally 10/10.
Glad you guys got introduced !
I know Beth be putting herself through hell watching kills but maybe an idea could be reacting to some kill executions 🤣
Haha yeah we know after watching this that we made a contract to see the kills 😂
Thanks for the info on game and gameplay 😃
The doom games, are absolute chaos and non stop carnage. Truly incredible games. Also designed for non stop action. I highly recommend them.
We may try Doom 2016 😅😁
Oooh for the 2016 game, there's one trailer called "Doom: Fight Like Hell". That one is a live action trailer.
Then there's the 2015 gameplay trailer, the campaign trailer, then the launch trailer. (These show the action but you already know what's it like just by watching Eternal's gameplay lol)
This game is definitely metal and hardcore lol didn't expect you guys to do a reaction to this at all haha
Are you saying we aren’t metal and hardcore? 😂😜🤗 Yeah you’re right we are straight up Disney show tunes😛
I was waiting for this )
😁🥳🥳
The final trailer you watched is also the intro to the game amazing game so much fun there was hell to pay :) loved your reaction your eyes almost popped out of your head watching the second video lol doom has that effect lol
Haha yeah caught us off guard 😝
All it needs is Arnold Schwarzenegger from Total Recall saying “Get your A** to Mars”
This reminds me a lot of Bulletstorm, You guys should check out the trailers to that
😂 great Total Recall reference 😊
I’m sure it’s been suggested but if you’re looking for more doom another vid idea could be every glory kill from doom 2016 and every glory kill from doom eternal. There are a variety of demons in the doom games and there’s a mechanic where once you shoot a demon enough and it’s basically one shot away from dying you can melee it to get a brutal close quarter kill animation that gives you health, that’s what most of the moments in this trailer that look so brutal are.
Glory kills are for sure on our list to watch 😇😈
People saying u don't stuck there with the monster..the monster stuck there with you..🤣🤣🤣
Haha. Nice. 😁
Best part of the game is when one of the Slayers allies says "you can't just blow a hole in Mars?!" And then mission prompt pops up saying [blow a hole in Mars]
😂😎🤟😁
Rip and Tear until it is done.
Doom(since 2016). One of the few franchises that is not criminal to mention with Warhammer.
You guys should watch some cutscenes only compilation of the first new Doom from 2016 to get into the lore.
More Doom vids will for sure come 😁
“So much gore” wait until she finds out that there is a level called super gore
😯🤯
1:34 nobody can remain unfazed by his presence :v
😎🤟
that Hollywood background looks so cool
🤗
Yay I love when people react to trailers about me! Rip and Tear
Haha Thanks for showing up Doom Guy! Sorry to hear about your 🐰 😢
Based on events from the first game, hell was unleashed on Earth, best of luck.
😯😰
Doomguy is just pissed his bunny died
And we love him for that 😊
So for the guy who has the big red energy axe, they're called; Marauders which are a group of Night Sentinels that once fought alongside the Doom Slayer but were resurrected after death by demonic energy, corrupting them in the process. The axe they have is made of pure Argent/Hell energy
"Against all the evil that Hell can conjure, all the wickedness that mankind can produce. We will send unto them... only you. Rip and tear, until it is done..."
😯 Thanks for filling us in 😃
Doomguy started killing demons in 1993, and is still doing it to this day. He is rage and brutality incarnate. Doom is Eternal. Great reaction by the way.
Thanks! 🥳🥳
You guys ever thought of doing the Doom 2016 videos? The live action trailer is great!
We plan on checking them out eventually 😃
You already know what I'm gunna suggest 👀 i'll be waiting.
😇🤗
I’ve been a fan of ID software’s work since the beginning. I have an have played every version of Doom they made. The reboot of the series with Doom 2016 was down right incredible. Eternal is simply bliss, for a Doom fan, and the ending I never saw coming in the DLC’s. You need to check out the trailers for Doom 2016 to get the full picture. And the trailers for Doom Eternal DLC’s are just as good.
More Doom content will surely flow 😃
These 2 are funny, she's like disturbed look on her face, he's just eating it up and intrigued.
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames
The game is surprisingly good at making you better at shooters gradually, I'd suggest playing on a lower difficulty if you're not used to shooters.
Awesome to see u guys do doom reactions too! 1st watched ur reactions to dead by daylight, then doom: my favorite games. Love seeing ur reactions!
Yay! 🥳🥳🥳 Doom looks fun as hell so more reacts for that and DBD for sure 😁
Holy Hell.
Me: not holy, only hell
😂
Doom Eternal is what Happens when YOU are the final boss
That’s a great way to sum it up from why we’ve been reading in comments from others 😃😎🤟
Nice reaction guys!!!
This video was SO dangerously good!!
👌👌👌
Btw, this game is actually pretty hard😂
So we may avoid it if it’s hard but we can still react to a bunch of stuff from it and if their is cool lore and what not we’d be down 😁
The coolest and terrifying trailer i've ever see
😎🤟
5:59 me when i watched the doom eternal trailer and i accidentally simp for it:
😂
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames also you look exactly like doomguy.
Awesome video! :3
😃🥳🥳
Absolutely amazing video 🙏🏻🎊🎊🥰
Thanks! 😊🥳🥳🥰🤗
Doom is awesome, insanaty, brutal, and crazy
Perfect 😁
