One huge mistake very very common in modern (western) knife/sword making is to make the tang too narrow and to file deep 90degs for the hilt, creating extreme weakness prone to blade snapping at those points. I'm so very happy and impressed you did NOT make these mistakes. Not particularly fond of your Tsuba because being solid steel it is heavy adding unnecessary weight to the sword. If it were skeletonized more, it would drastically help this issue. Otherwise, I love your work. Well done!!

What did you apply to the blade and what did you put it in when you made the pattern on the blade? I'm asking because the method of engraving the pattern on the blade is different from the method I knew.
Very interesting question, in my opinion it brings a sound that reflects the strength of the blacksmith's muscles, secondly it increases the weight of the anvil to reduce vibration! Third is probably aesthetics!!

Tsuba was usually made of iron though and often not skeletonized at all.
