I have been using the Galaxy Z Fold 3 for eight (8) months. I have really enjoyed this phone. Over the past month, I have noticed a serious issue with the main screen. This video displays the issues I am having with the phone and how Samsung can improve the next Galaxy Z flip 4.

My Z Flip 3 screen didn't crack or dent, but the layers (protector, ultrathin glass) started separating near the right hand side of the hinge. Samsung repaired it under its manufacturers warranty, free of charge. Phone is as a good as new. Their after care is pretty good. I do agree that durability needs improving on the next iteration, but Samsung are really trying to keep their Flip and Fold customers happy, so this "gimmick" can one day become the norm. Sure the technology is new, but I still remember when a mobile (cell) phone used to be the size and weight of a small brick, with about 30 minutes of battery life. Tech revolutions have to start somewhere and I'm glad to be an early adopter and ambassador for this new tech.

My screen bubbled up just like that but there was also a fine crack along my crease
A few days later, the crease ingredients broke and now I have a big black bar in the middle of my screen and I can only use the bottom half of my screen
I am very disappointed that I tried so hard to baby it and yet the screen just shattered

It's just sad that they didn't fix this with the z flip 4. Many people are having the same problems with the newer model

My pre installed screen protector started doing at 6 months then eventually cracked all the way across at crease, I took screen protector off and crease was fine, now 2 months later it's cracking just like yours.

Mine Z FLIP 3 got screen issues ( burnt led on the hinge stays always on) with 6 months of very careful use. It seems to be the TBF (time between failures ) on this new tech model. I would not recommend it... They fixed it (because it was still in warranty) but it seems will happen again in another 6 months and them with no warranty

Same problem with mine after 5 months. Called Samsung and they first offered to have someone here locally to fix (nobody will) now they want me to send back under manufacturer warranty but THEY WANT A 500 DEPOSIT ON A CREDIT CARD WTF????
Wtf!! That sounds insane. I would never! Yea they screwed me on a trade in before and charged me $500 for a phone I sent back to them but the carrier service lost it or someone stole it. I have been on the beach working, dropped it from a 4th floor balcony, and use it as my every day phone. I have had it as long as you. Not one issue with my screen.

Yes I have the same phone regular use of the phone,and I well look after it I clean it everyday,and mines the same issues great portability phone,the rest of phone is rubbish and doesn't hold up then,my screen protector has already been replaced once because it was coming up within months so screen problem not anything else..

Not only has the hinge messed up, the phone shuts down when the flip is closed! Samsung cannot guarantee a repair. Flip Z4!

after 18 months of use, mine and my wife's z flip 3 is showing same problem. the screen is peeling off from the center horizontally along the hinge. i will contact Samsung and see what they say, if they will repair it without charge or not.

Had the same issue after only 5-6 months eventually the crease where the blemishes are will go white then turn black and touch screen will not work. I called T mobile and i am getting a new one under the 1 year manufacturer warranty. You cant say the screen is cracked because they will try to get you to make an insurance claim at your expense. Just say the screen has a white or black blemish at the crease where it opens and closes the hinge, and from just normal use no cracks or scratches you didnt drop it or misuse in any way. They will try hard to get you to say crack or scratch or that it somehow your fault. It said that the phone can only open and close a total of 7000 times before it starts to wear out.

I haven't had this particular problem, but my screen doesn't stay on the moment it starts to fold, which is literally the reason I got it 😢

Yes, my boyfriend had his phone for 3 months. Paid over 1000.00 and his did the same thing. He contacted samsung mailed it in and they wouldn't fix it under warranty. They wanted hi.e to pay for repairs. They told him the phone was damaged by him and it had dents.

I have had my Samsung galaxy zx3 flip phone 4 months I have had it on my original 3 and the new one which I have had a month the screen protector bubbles in the fold and peeks up when you fold it so I just took the screen protector of and just replaced with a a shatter proof one it's fine now

I was told that the screen that has the folds IS the built in screen protector. Same thing is happening tone too. I am also starting to have battery issues. This my 3rd month with the phone.
Yea buddy at this point, I would not recommend the phone. I have heard so many horror stories and it seems like there is no solution. Dude.... mine broke. I had it for 3 months. Outta nowhere.. it started failing. In less than 12 hours, it was completely useless. Samsung tells me it's my responsibility to replace the hinge. Normal use.. phone case and screen protector on from day 1. They KNOW it's a manufacturer issue. Bull****. Imma get to the bottom of this. They are gonna get so many bad reviews and hate for this. People are gonna go crazy over this nonsense.

Same issue, Samsung giving crappy excuses not replacing it in warranty. Asking me to pay $350 for replacing it.

Mine was thrown amd fell numerous times and half yhe screen become blinking white .... restart and its still works as before. NO ISSUE. .

I just took my screen protector off because that was happening to it. This crease cracking is a huge downfall. Also got mine shortly after launch. My screen is not doing that quite yet but I quit opening and closing it nearly as much when I realized my screen protector was starting to Crack. I leave my phone open unless I need it to be small to fit in my pocket. It's been doing great so far.

We got the the flip 1 ago. And had the same issue 10-11months after we bought it. I came across your vid because I am planning to get the flip 4 hoping the flip 3 hadnt got these issues after a few months. But to my surprise, This flip line has a major issue with that part of the screen. I say No for the flip 4. Thanks for the vid

Had mine for a year and mine is still grate also the main reason for the cracks is one sand 2 flipping it like others and no matter if you took it anywhere with sand it can still happen dust and sand and dirt is everywhere

I got a flip that is identical to the one you are showing the pervious one had problems holding a charge after a year so i got a new one about a month after i got it a blak line appeared on the fold and the top became unresponsive

I love this phone but the same issue here with the manufacture screen protector is separating at the hinge.....mine looks worst than your wife's phone. It's annoying

Had mine a year only had to remove the factory screen protector other then that its in mint condition

I got stung with a bill for stuck pixels because they found 'indentations'. After arguing with the management I recommend using this found in a padded room wearing gloves. All very well bringing out a new product but don't blame the consumer for using it! Determined not to buy another Samsung phone but the alternatives are American fascist iphone or Chinese fascist Lenovo. Tragic!

Had I only watched this sooner--I have 2--1st one started 8mths n thought I did something but I pulled entire screen off..lol..thinking it was another protector paid 250 replacement--1yr w otha same thing I was smarter called them 2 use warranty--Next mth paying them off & getting rid of both

I wish I knew before I got it :( It just simply cracked all of the sudden and the whole middle is black. Not to mention the touch isn't working anymore. i can only use the front camera to answer phone calls. I've been using it for 7 months, brand new, taking care of it like women do...it's unacceptable. I really don't know what to do now, I'm not sure it's still covered by the guarantee...such a shame for Samsung. I wish more people would come with complaints so they could take a global measure and change displays for free, not to mention reducing price. for sure z 4 will be as crappy as this one

Send it back to Samsung and they'll change the built on screen protector free of charge as it's covered under the one year warranty. This happened to a friend's phone and he sent it back and it took about 10 days to come back, when it did it was good as new. I don't think the fold technology is quite there as far as durability is concerned. Hopefully Z Flip 4 will improve this.

@@GouldsGamingandTech yea they did plus they found some unknown defects and they repaired it for free that wasn’t covered in the warranty because they said they had the phone for over a month and a half. I just got it back 15 minutes ago.

I was having such a hard time choosing between the iphone 13 or the samsung flip 3. My family has been telling me that the hinge will most definitely break eventually. I refused to believe that until I saw this video. Although I really like the design of the flip 3, not only has my family warned me about this problem, but this video is just the ice breaker tbh. I will be getting the iphone 13 soon. Will update if ever I regret buying it. Hopefully i made the right decision.

Educate yourself it’s the screen protector that need to be replace by the company, it’s not dents, they have a video you can replace it your self.

No problem. The best option is to contact the Samsung care plus. Since the phone is so new, the screen “should” still be covered under the warranty. here is a timeline of my experience, purchased phone oct 2021, less than 3 months in: hinge feels loose/deteriorating ( not major issue imo(but still an unaddressed issue)), after 6months the factory screen protector separated on the crease which was not an issue because I like the feel better with the protector off or I like it raw, per say, after 8 months these hairline cracks began to appear, this is where I become frustrated, 9 months in my microphone is progressively becoming faulty making phone calls only possible on speaker phone. my phone is almost ready for the garbage can and I have not even reached 1 year of ownership. samsung will not fix anything because the screen protector was removed. long story explained and now even longer, I shall go back to my old phone and NEVER purchase or rely on a samsung product again. Please be warned

it is a screen proctector! i pulled mine off and it is fine! att guy told me it was made in the phone. freaking liar ! i even took it back and showed the guy that was last year. and no problems . just pull it off. that easy
I wish that were true. But in my case, that was the actual phone. I already took the screen protector off. I even had to replace it. But the actual screen itself was messing up.
