I found a little country liquor store last week that had 4 bottles of A121 for $55 and I purchased all 4 of them. I love it and glad I have enough to last me quite some time. This video makes me feel better that I have lucked out on finding Stagg anywhere and everywhere I have tried.

A121 is my favorite ECBP batch of the last few years. Hits every classic bourbon note I love and it's aged and proofed just right.
Have both. Both good, but prefer the ECBP. I am really digging it. Right on, Matt!

Liking my first ECBP missed out on Stagg by one place in line. Was worried when whiskey tubers were hinting it fell short. Glad to hear it holds up..I certainly enjoyed my first pour.
I love my ECBP A121. Really glad my buddy hooked me up with a discount and got it for $55. I should of bought another bottle a couple weeks ago.
Hahaha your octopus line killed me. I was sipping this while you reviewed it. I think I had a similar thought to you in that I nosed a ocean washed tobacco that was super strong rye spice but coated in some weird funk. All wrapped in sweetness. Different from previous batches but I love how EC can change it up and still wow you! Keep up the good work my man

Circus peanuts ... you know the orange marshmallow candies formed in the shape of a peanut. Wonderful sweet note for a "well" distilled bourbon.
Glad to hear EC came out on top because I won’t see a Stagg Jr but might have a shot at ECBP. Question now is how it holds up against the 20 batches
Matt, I have both of these fine Bourbons and for the sake of keeping ECBP available and somewhat easy to find, could you have not just picked Stagg Jr. as the winner? Lol, we all know Stagg anything is already impossible to find now anyway, so no reason to make ECBP even harder to find. Just kidding of course.
With that said, I thought Stagg jr. batch 15 is one of the better batches in a long time. The ECBP A121 is also great. I thought A121 was better than last years “A120” batch, but not as good as last years “B520 and C920” but it keeps getting better the longer it’s open. My A121 has been open a month and just keeps improving. Thanks for the great review.

Matt, you should do a flavor profile skirmish! Like pit a few bottles against each other that have the same strong flavor profile (vanilla/caramel, floral/fruits, grains) would give me something to buy in each category haha!

I somehow managed to grab a bottle of the Stagg 15 this past week after never seeing a single bottle for years. It really is an excellent bottle. But I’m actually not surprised to hear you say that you liked the Elijah Craig more. I haven’t had the A121 yet, but the C920 is one of the best bourbons I’ve ever had. They’re doing something right over there at Heaven Hill.

I've got a bottle of Stagg Jr 15 and found it underwhelming compared to batch 14, or ECBP 290. I'm excited to try to A121!
Just wish I could find them. C920 and batch 14 were sublime. Like #487
In CA I can find ECBP A121 all day for $70, Stagg Jr is at least double that price IF you can find it.
Revisiting this comment today, ECBP is still findable for $80-90, Stagg jr is like $250+ now lol.

I got a bottle of both maybe I should have them Duke it out...pour for pour. I'm sure the Stag is great but that ECBPA121 is from the whiskey gods. Hence I'm on my second bottle. Matt u are awesome ADHD WHISKEY RULES

@@ADHDWhiskey This batch of ECBP is so different from all the others I have ever had. I do enjoy it and it is fairly complex. I totally got the apple cinnamon notes with some faint cherry notes. And then in and out I hit some of the classic nutty notes, but then it would swing back to the apple cinnamon notes. Kind of reminds me of an apple cinnamon granola bar/fig newton or something of that sort. Definitely a different and interesting bottle of ECBP and I am happy to have it and I enjoy it. Too many other people I know were shitting on the A121. Sometimes the norm is not always right.

I found the A121 last week. It was light and thin on the palate for me. I'll never see the Batch 15, so, A121 wins for me. Great review as always.

Haven’t been able to find any ECBP A121 yet. But my local liquor store said that they’re holding a bottle of Stagg Jr Batch 15 for me, and that I can pick it up on Monday.
Hopefully I can find ECBP A121 soon and have my own little bourbon skirmish.

I bought A121 about a month ago and still haven’t cracked it yet. I seen a few reviews on it that weren’t all that good. I have 3 other ECBP’s but I really want to find C920. I aquired a bottle of Stagg Jr Batch #9 (2017) in a Bunker COVID Clearance through a Stimulus Investment. I see recent releases of Stagg Jr $150 - $250. What's a reasonable number for #9 ?

People like Stagg Jr better because it says Stagg on the front. If you actually think Stagg Jr is a better release then you need a better palate

Ecbp sooooo much easier to find and its affordable. Stagg jr good but in so short supply it ends up costing you in time and gas just to find one. C920 excellent. C918 was amazaballz and just finished it 2 months ago. HH is doin it right and bt keep source low to keep up buzz and desirability. I almost had it with them and i from frankfort!!!!!!
I hear the stagg jr 15 gets better over time from many people? Some people go from not liking it at all to thinking it's the best bourbon they've tried all year. Let us know how if it does continue to get better over time as well for you

I just did the same blind and I picked the Stagg Jr easily. The Stagg Jr has been opened about a month longer though. Maybe the ECBP needs to open up.
