You inspires me to start reel mowing - granted it’s a manual Fiskars. Was mowing 2x a week with my Toro rotary and I notice a difference. Can’t wait to see how this goes with the reel Mower (did it once already and it’s a damn workout). Thanks for the inspiration Lawn Coach! Liquids are next for me once I splurge on that Ryobi backpack sprayers (this year as been YM and Milo)
Thanks for the videos! Been subscribed since last year I’m in central texas so your channel is more relevant than some of the others. I started the year with lesco 0-0-7 pre, then lesco 15-5-10, I bought the flagship and I’m going to give that a shot for the rest of the season you anc byd recommending it is enough for me. Also want to thank you for the Bifen video I saw results the next day!! Getting ready for a big party (10th bday) in July and that will definitely make it more enjoyable! Hopefully the lawn holds up getting into the summer I will get the stress blend soon to have it on hand for another brutal tx summer.
You have a nice yard. Grass looks like a golf course. I have St. Augustine grass so I’m trying to find ways to get it to look like a golf course. Ice and thick. But anyway your yard looks awesome
Awesome content! Been following you now for almost two years! Wishing you could do more videos!! It’s addicting. Quick question wanting to know your opinion…. So when we put in the lawn we leveled the best we could but didn’t account for the settling the dirt would go through this season I’m wondering if I should level with a topsoil mix to add some organic material to the super sandy soil that I have? My lawn is not even close to being able to reel mow but I am cutting short with a regular mower and cutting every 3 days. Wondering what your thoughts were, thanks in advance from far west TEXAS!!!
Big question Mr lawn Insider big fan fyi, I’m new to the lawn care wanted to ask if I’m wanting run the same chemicals / spoon feeding how often can I spray ? I will highly appreciate the answer
Hey Rhett, love the content. I'm a new homeowner (2 years) but just now getting into lawn care stuff. I live in San Marcos and have a Bermuda lawn as well that has got out of control this past year. So many weeds popped up and I've spent 3 or 4 weekends in a row attacking them the old fashioned way (pulling/plucking). There are still so many weeds that I just couldn't pluck left and weeds have already come back into the yard in sections I've already plucked. So, I've got some herbicides (pre and post-emergent) from Lowes and Ewing... my question is, should I put down the (granular) pre-emergent first then spray my (liquid) post-emergent? The post-emergent I picked up are Lowes products; Image RTS (ammonium salt of imazaquin) and BioAdvanced RTS (2,4-D). I picked up the pre-emergent from Ewing and it's a granular 0-0-7 prodiamine. Whooo that was a lot. Sorry to keyboard dump your comment section.
Thanks for watching Jared. To answer your question briefly, yes, you’ll want to lay down the pre-emergent first before applying the post-emergent. I would just pick one of those two products for now. Then maybe next app you can try out the other product if you want to compare.
so I'm new to all this fertilizing lol. new to being a homeowner at that so i put down fresh sod back in march of this year. now I'm hooked on getting my grass to stay green year long. ( i know its not feasible in this Texas heat but worth a try for a newbie) however, i wanted to get my HOC low this summer but since i laid sod late i didn't get to establish it until she May officially and by June i was still cutting at 2.5 (tifway 419). now I've worked it down to 1inch looking a little brown and light light green. I'm now cutting twice a week but still not turning green the way i want it. me not reading much into this liquid ferts. i applied my application last night and watered it in immediately. how long after i did that app and watered in can i reapply since i messed up? TIA
Have you already done a video showcasing how you determine how much granular nitrogen you choose to apply for a 90 day period vs the liquid nitrogen interval applications for your season?
I've had bad luck with that tip. Really liked it while it worked... but after just a handful of uses it would start spraying a stream out of one side. I purchased two and the same issue occurred.
I’ve had it where tiny particles would get stuck in the tip and I would have to pick it out with a needle, but I changed a few parts in the guts of my backpack, and I haven’t had that issue in a long time. These tips have lasted me 3 seasons so far.
I have to ask this, but how many legs did that dog have when you found him? Andy Dwyer : Three! That's what makes him the best. He can can do more with three legs than most dogs can do with four.
Yeah I was just relying to another comment that said the same about MicroGreene. I’ve never had any trouble whatsoever, but I’ve also never gone full rate.
First Aussie 😁. Rhett, The lawn is looking great , hopefully you get regular rainfall to help you along . 😎

Awesome! Glad you’re finding it helpful!
That 18-0-1 Greenpunch is good stuff, I apply it twice a month (spoon feed)
Yes the rain has been awesome!! over 5" over here near Creekside in the last month.
Good info and content Rhett
Thanks Brian!

@@LawnInsider That's about what I figured. You think it's safe to water in the pre-emergent with the RTS herbicide?

I have the same sprayer and TJett nozzle. What position do you have your sprayer’s min/max dial to give you the 1 gallon per sq ft rate?
Should you mow before or wait a couple of days after application?
Do you have a link to the Backpack Sprayer? I need to purchase what you using!!! To the T!!
Totally random, but your trees really took off compared to what I saw in your videos last year! What kind are they?
Elm and maple.
What kind of trees do you have bossman?
An elm and a maple.
So i have 10 sq ft of lawn. Hiw many gallons of water do I have to put in? Thanks
What type of hose nozzle you have?
Best month to use this ? Do this every 4 weeks?

So you did not water in at all before mowing?

Classic. Parks and Rec.
Me watching this having 16,000 sq ft. and ready to burn my bank account LOL
How many lbs of nitrogen are you applying per 1000 sf with each app?
A negligible amount with liquids really. Something like .64 oz per 1000 on this spoon fed app.
@@LawnInsider What spray tip nozzle did you use for that app?
Can your sprayer handle all that thick stuff at once? Cause mine can't...its frustrating...
Yeah I was just relying to another comment that said the same about MicroGreene. I’ve never had any trouble whatsoever, but I’ve also never gone full rate.
Mixing micro Greene with any other n-ext product always clogs up my fan tip. I have to put micro down by itself.
I’ve had another person tell me the same thing, but I’ve never had any trouble with it. Maybe because I never use it at full rate?? I’m not sure.
Whats your HOC?
Where are you located?
New Braunfels, TX
Links to Greene don't work.
Thank you! I’ll fix it.
It’s fixed. Thanks again!
