I’ve always been scared of rails and never committed to doing them until i just did it one day, I’m telling you rails are wayy easier than you think as long as you don’t lean back
Hit my first rails this week! (A fatter pipe, but still a rail haha). This tutorial was really helpful. Though, things move really hard on the rail it's hard to consciously balance, pedal etc haha
Just don't think about doing it and do the thing. If you over think things they become harder. Just kinda do a last minute Imma hit this with no time for you to convince yourself not to.
TG Danka I don’t know how much this will but I used to have trouble with 360s and what really helped was just to keep my head turned so my body would follow (and obviously to wind and spin hard)
Hey i started watching you a month ago to prepare for this season since im gonna focus on the park love the content and quality of your videos Ps: already ordered both of your new shirts 😍😍
4:05 This can be mentioned. After my thumb injury I noticed that most of the ppl don't use pole straps when in the park to prevent thumb and other injuries
This really helped me. I just got to aspen yesterday and I’m very exited to hit some rails. I don’t get to ski that often because I live in North Carolina and there isn’t as much good mountains there so when I go skiing I always have to watch a lot of how to do trick videos.
Filip Osvald practice, last season i couldnt slide a rail unnatural for my life, but this season i spent a good amount of time and now im comfortable enough to do front/ back swaps, so just work on it. good luck!
Louis has been open since the 15th of November, just switched to skiing this year. Already hitting some of the down rails, just wanna day your channel was a big contributor for my switch and I couldn’t be happier, keep grinding!
sweet sound track at end. I will be charging in Bear this season , w/ some new to me, Volkle Bash skis, SUPER STOKED! I got my pass, doing squats, gunna lay down a PVC practice pipe, just got a used mini tramp, and im 66. Skiing rules. Get Wise. BNW.
If you a starter it is the easiest for me to just slide on like a barrel or pill. Do the slide for an inch on the rail then work your way to half way and then 3/4 etc
Love your vids. One thing I think could be helpful is if you added some freeze frames and graphics like when you're describing people's weight distribution. Showing what went wrong with arrows and lines, etc. I think that could improve the usefulness of these vids and add some more production value.
Great video, as a rollerblader the movement isn't that difficult but getting over that fear of committing has been tough. I've got box slides down, I want to over come the fear and get rails down! My 6 year old just attempted his first rail over the weekend, he did pretty good considering he hasn't learned to pop/ollie yet.
Omg thank you so much! I always knew that you would make a other video but I didn’t knew when you would make a other one and I couldn’t find it anywhere because on top of that I didn’t remember your RUclips nickname. But I wanted so much a good video that was going to explain to me precisely how to hit a rail, well I just wanted a really good video like this one because I couldn’t find any good videos anywhere. But thank god that I finally found you and that you’ve made just the video that I needed, thank you so much! ⛷🔥👌🏼
Great video explanation of rails! However I can do narrow boxes and 180 out, but I still have a hard time just doing a 90 out forward. Some explanation on how hard to send your spin would be nice, because I feel like now I send to hard and have a hard time stopping and just go out with then 180
@@h31212 Hey man I've been out a couple times this season and I think I nailed it at the end of this season, trick was to not send to hard just shifty it and make sure you pop coming to the end so you can counter rotate your shifty back to forward. Hope it helps!
@@TheDowner911 Yeah I've suspected that was the solution but my exit pop often ends up in disaster because of my messed up weight distribution. I'm glad you managed to do it!
hey, can you please make a pedaling tutorial? i havnt found any videos that go in depth about it and i am still mad confused on how it works. (preferable on a hand rail)
Would had needed this video a week ago 😂 i just decided to learn to rail and went for it, knewing ofc i was going to slip and i did, many times over maybe 5 times, then i did the most un-clean rail ever seen by mankind, kinda got of it with one skii before the other and then the other one over the first one BUT I managed to save it and was still standing up 😂 next run I was like fuck I’ll just bring enough speed to jump the whole tube maybe 4 meters, but still try to keep contact with the tube because I thought then most of my wheigt is going forward and not down on the skiis/rail, and sure enough, I landed a SUPER clean pretty fast rail. My brother was behind he said it looked super relaxed and clean like the other “pros” in the park. I was so shocked myself when I got of the rail that I was still standing up and I even felt how clean it was. I got soo hyped even though I knew it was probably mostly luck I had to do it again, fell so hard and got the corner of the tube JUST left of my back plate 🤣 so I switched to my all mountains (92mm) instead and went for some off post powder jumps instead. No better feeling than landing from a 2 second air time in steep powder 😍 Ready to go back on my long twin tips after seeing this! Thank you 🫶
I have downhill skis (curved on 1 side) next season I’m renting curved on both but my first try I fell sideways and merely avoided a head bonk. The next try I did it but randomly fell after almost landing it. Then I got it.
I always hesitated with these for two reasons: firstly I thought I’d hurt myself doing it, secondly I assumed they would destroy my skis… Is that the case?
I personally wouldn’t recommend them. I’ve never even seen anyone wear one in the park... However if you think you might get injured or want to progress very fast, it might not be a terrible idea.
I always hit rails but having one ski on either side and then jumping 90 degrees, is this easier or harder then having both skis on the right or left side and then jumping on.

Michael Loeve you can do either one. Often it’s easier for people to go from the side and kind of turn into the rail a little bit but in my opinion I think it’s better to go up with it between your skis to get the fundamentals of the pop and the slight rotation in the air, instead of depending on your takeoff to do that for you. It’s really whatever feels right though
I’ve been trying to get my friend to get on rails all of this and last season. He’s starting to atleast hop on/kinda over the rail but he’s been up over 6 times this season and still can’t slide a rail correctly. His main problem is that he is edging in too hard and turning into the rail causing him to slide straight off instead of going straight at it (or a very slight angle if you’re on one side) and getting the pop and turning in the air. Does anyone have anything that might have helped them or a friend stop turning into the rail and popping and doing a slight rotation instead? I’m at a loss with him and he also doesn’t want to do box slides...I told him multiple times to straddle the rail and not turn into it and he doesn’t understand can anyone help me get this guy on rails???

thick fs
Where are you skiing? Like what resort
How much do you wanna jump when you leave the ramp before entering the rail?
Will try it Tomorrow, hope i don't hurt that much
Tried but hit my head on the rail but I was wearing a helmet so I was fine
I recently just started hitting rails and can only come out switch. Any tips for how to come out straight please ?
Facts me too man literally started a week ago
Use the heel of your front foot to pedal off forward
Patrick wayskinner thanks
Last year I tried to hit a tiny rail and ate it because I leaned to far back lol😂
I always catch a front edge and fall on my face on the rail like some just grabs my legs and yanks em lmao
Your edges are too sharp, detune them a bit and this will stop happening.
