  • This tutorial will show you how to crochet a textured baby / children’s cardigan.
    This cardigan can be made in 6 sizes from 0 - 6 months to 4 - 5 years. This tutorial follows the pattern for size 1 - 2 years. Detailed instructions for all sizes are included in the written pattern.
    For this cardigan you will need a 5mm crochet hook and worsted weight yarn - I used Drops Big Merino yarn.

    I just want to let you know how very badly I want you to publish a hard copy book full of all your beautiful patterns! I would pay good money for that! I use your patterns all...the...time!! It would be so nice to have them all in one book, alongside your beautiful photographs of your finished projects!

    I have made baby cardigan before but the patterns have all been DC and V stitch increases for the yoke. LOVE your pattern. Waiting to hear gender on my next 2 great grandchildren before yarn selection. Thanks bunches! BTW - appreciate your teaching method with frequent repetitions to keep me on track.

    Lovely little cardigan, made a smaller size by using D K wool and smaller needle.
    Was not to sure about starting sleeve on the sides.... but you really cannot tell where the seam is..
    Now going to make using thicker wool ready for colder days.

      I am making the 6 months old size and the neck is big enough to go round my neck !! I am using a smaller hook too .Dont know where I have gone wrong have right number of stitches too . What have I done ?

I am doing long sleeves on this cardigan, could you tell me how to decrease it a bit as the sleeve comes down to the wrist? I don’t like how the sleeve is completely straight shoulder to wrist.       It's a beautiful cardigan, but, it turns out quite large, especially around the yoke/neckline. I've made two, dropping down a size and still too big. I'm trying to figure out how to start the yoke off smaller for a better fit.

    Beautiful pattern but very, very confusing. You state 9x's more and then you state 20? You state 40 stitches to the back which doesn't correspond with your first count. I worked on this for a total of 17 hours...I just gave up. I've been crocheting for 30 years...

    You should say how many sts are in each row after 8 for sleeves. Mine keeps comin out with 40 more..lol

    I bought this pattern. I love the look of it but am sorry to say I am quite confused and have started it about 5 times now 😖 I think I will try one more time with the video. I chose to do 6-12 months and followed it exactly but it looks enormous and when it came to round 8 it didn't look right. I hope I can finish it!

    This is a lovely pattern but for the life of me I can’t get the sleeves right I don’t understand why the garment has to be turned inside out this puts the right side of the sleeve on the inside what am I missing .

      You could give it a go! Just work rounds of double crochet around the neckline and then sew up the back x
