Not nearly as much fun as a few boxes of gold, self protection and food… and lots chocolate coins 🤣

Nice sturdy tool bags from harbour freight. 15 lbs in each one are easy enough for my wife to carry 2 at a time. Not as obvious as a pelican case and stash easly on the floor behind the seats of my Expedition with a cable lock thru the handles and the seat rails. First thing in last thing out. I've been evacuated 5 times in the last 5 years by fire. It's become the easiest and most cheap and cheerful way that works for us, we keep the tool bags stacked near our safes at all times. Cheers

What's the point of that exercise in the first place? Cash on hand and a bank card can get you anywhere in a functioning economy. Money tied up in a consumer item like gold is just a burden.

Safest way to carry gold: stack your ounces in a tube, dig out a peanut butter jar, insert tube into center, make sure there is no rattling at all. Scoop PB around tube. Reseal the paper thing over the PB very carefully. Put lid on. Place in shopping bag with other items.

I found the Apache 1800 & 2800 model cases from Harbor Freight work great. Less than half the $ as Pelican. They seem rugged and tough enough at least for me. I have also bought one for a travel gun case. Keep up the good work 2is1, love your content dude! If you're looking for content ideas, I would like to hear/learn more about off site (vault) storage. The things that scares me the most about traveling with metal, is getting stopped, and the PoPo decides to take it upon themselves to search my vehicle, finding the contents, and confiscating it until I can prove I own it.. And spending a few thousand in court costs to get it back. My state has Preponderance of Evidence laws, and if the state put up a good argument of it being criminal related, (even without proof) it would be gone.

It's really all about waking up to some realities, and once you do, the same things fall into place for pretty much everyone. I moved to gold after a similar thought experiment: What if I have to boogie due to a natural disaster, or other emergency? At the time had two, ASE monster boxes. Worth a whopping (at the time) about $17k to $18k and weighing in near 70lbs packed up. Transporting it was problematic: Do I lug it into the lobby of the hotel every night? They won't fit in the room safe. Leave them in the trunk of the car? Sheesh! Sold it all and put enough gold in a tiny Pelican case to last me a year and is 10x more portable.

Here's a thought: We can swim with $100k of gold in our jeans pockets. Silver? Not even close to that value

I keep my stash in ammo cans, which fit perfectly in my gun safe. Also, I travel extensively through the summer and I acquire a fair amount of cash as i go along. Enough in fact, that it creates unwanted attention in airports. A few years ago i began buying gold bullion which I carry in an old fashioned change purse like Grandpa carried. As i approach security, it goes in the tote with my wallet, shoes, belt, pen, etc. nobody from TSA has ever given it a second glance. An additional benefit is that I'm not likely to be rolled for my purse full of parking meter change.

Very sad that we live in times like this that we have to constantly think of protecting ourselves 24/7 , uncertain of the right road to take, uncertain of who to trust, uncertain of what is the safest to invest, what institution if any you can trust, and so on.. However this is reality, you can never be too sure or too safe anymore.

For me, gold is for preservation of wealth, silver is simply for commerce.
If you’re rich in a metals-based society, you’ll have a pile of gold and then convert what you need to silver to do your daily business.
Silver might perform better than gold sometimes, but storage is much more difficult… literally 80 to 1! $300 of gold is smaller than a dime, $300 of silver is about 8 huge solid ounce coins. In CAD.

    • @2is1gold
      @2is1gold  9 месяцев назад

Yeah, you can store and transport a lot of wealth with gold. Cheers!

Hey I'm sure you have one out but I'd love to see an updated version of some of your coin collection. I've been wanting to get into coin collecting, but not just for fun. I'd love to have fun and be investing in rising assets at the same time. Would love a video or two about that stuff 👍

Its very practical to store one tube or less of gold at home. More than that should be stored in commercial vaulting. Silver should not be bought at all. Its not worth enough to be bothered with.

"Silver should not be bought at all. Its not worth enough to be bothered with."
Owning silver (for me) is about what it will become worth in a SHTF situation when the US$ takes a huge dump. I can see its use as barter money.
Think Venezuela and Zimbabwe type situations here. Chances of that happening in the US are miniscule... but not zero. But whatever floats your
boat. That is the essence of stacking, IMO. We can tailor it to fit each of us exactly. I would trade about 2/3 of my silver stack for gold if we ever
have a repeat of the GSR from 2011. Back then, the GSR dropped to a low of about 32:1. Yeah, I'd trade 32 ounces of silver for an oz. of gold. 🙂
