What a fantastic antedote to the stuff Nashville is vomitting out in the name of "Country" these days. Authentic music played by traditional musicians.

Did ya see how the bass player, and then the mandolin player realized that Strings and Molly were driving up on their impromptu crescendo, then the bass player looked over and smiled and the mandolin player did the same seconds after? Then all of a sudden they knew they had magic, and they played like they felt it. Huge smiles from them. Super energy from Molly and Strings bringing it up to the verse. Goose bumps and a heart felt, deep lunged - Yeah!” Molly is really good on the guit, underrated. Finally the banjo player, the one who’s just incredibly, well, so underrated(not mentioned enough for his greatness on the instrument,) enters the picture at the very end. I have to say, when Molly smiles I bet half the country’s hearts melt.

Love his love of dissonance and risk taking improvisation. (Most starkly seen at the end of this tune as the band chromatically rises as Billy holds a note vocally) His ability to meld it so seamlessly with an authentic bluegrass sound and instrumentation is Imthink the thing that sets him apart from anyone else I’ve heard. His singing and playing ability are amazing, but there are other smoking bluegrass players and singers. None I’ve heard with his level of joyful risky experimentation. Oh, Except Chris Thile.
@ hey thanks for asking! Molly is a fine fine player of course, as are all the musicians up there. But on this one she seems to be playing a support role and her playing, for my taste, is muted and sedate, not stirring. I assume that’s on purpose here, as a foil for Billy. I have played many gigs where that was my role as well, not to overshadow whoever was lead in the situation. (I think I’ve lost a few gigs in my early days where I did not realize this, as well! I love watching Billy and Molly together.
That mandolin player is a blazin picker.
Big facts @ 2:10 he was jammin the f out! I had to rewind it and listen to that part like 10 times. Just ridiculous talent!
Markadious Great playin’ by the mando dude! Looks effortless.

@@Nosferatu10 used to play with Missy Raines
these two are so good together
These 2 are jaw dropping when they jam together. How do they do it. The whole band is good but Molly and Billy are next level together.
Just Daaaaaaaaamnn!!!! 😮♥♥♥♥♥
This young dude has some powerful lungs! One of the most catchy bluegrass songs I've ever heard
That crescendo.....🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Man. This is the greatest thing I have ever heard. RIP music. It's been great. But i've found the one.
Billy Strings and Molly Tuttle keeping Blue Grass alive, amen. Great job.
This goes beyond raw talent. This qualifies as genius. Billy Strings is a musical prodigy right up there with Mozart, Gershwin, and the Beatles.
Omg a musical genius.
I notice he's always watching and admiring everyone on stage he's playing with
You can see how much fun they are all having. 2 min40sec The look on Mary Tuttle's face watching Billy riff.
That couldn’t have been more tight if they’d spent weeks in a recording studio. Absolutely sublime.
Bluegrass Rocks; always has❣️💯❤️
Wow. Alone at my computer, I broke into literal applause following the guitar duel. That was a wonderful!
pure magic, this one
Imagine the sort of guitar skills you'd need to impress such an accomplished guitarist as Molly Tuttle. Well Billy just has 'em in spades. Simply amazing.
Those two need to have kids. Imagine the inherited talents
