PAPILLOMA, AN INTERESTING SONG
Papilloma, apart from a benign tumor, usually caused by a virus, is a song that I like to Dj (and dance to) from time to time.
I am aware that its sound and, above all, the type of discourse of the melody mean that, for some dancers, the tune does not motivate them too much. But, if you listen to it carefully, you realize that it is an interesting song with attractive elements to inspire dancing.
Therefore, to promote it and so that the dancers don't give me a bad look when I Dj it, I have prepared a video for you from the performance that Enric Peidro Swingtet did a few months ago in Morella. If you activate the subtitles you will be able to see a basic description of the musicality elements of the song.
The main points that I would highlight are:
- repetitive melody with clear accents on beats 7 and 8
- very cool resolution to close the A sentences
- very contrasting B
- announcement of each solo chorus with a strident tutti (the whole band playing a melody at maximum power)
- well-executed solos, with speech understandable by the dancer, full of ideas
