I dont usually make suggestions but i think a really cool video idea is to see which bodies would transfer over to different platforms. You have so many rc cars from different manufactures. It would be cool if this body or the mad van would fit an arrma or traxxas. Its an idea that doesnt cost anything and i think a bunch of people would be interested.
I mean it’s pretty easy to figure out on your own

Hi! Great video!!! I have it for months and I found it instantly great. Then I asked you to review it… glad you enjoy it. It has a few downsides, I can say after months using it. Shocks are ok, 120mm putting the center of gravity way too high (clearance isn’t everything 😉), I add some shocks mounts to make it lower and improve the flex, and I trim the body shell wings. The body shell is terrible, breaking easily, I glued glass fiber with neoprene to make it more resistant (like Kevin). The body shell posts are very fragile as well and I had to change them… and take care of it, put grease everywhere because it get rusty easily…. Specifically all around all the ball bearings, grease the gearbox too and the diffs..
I definitely need to add some weight, but all in all it’s a great crawler for a third of a TRX-4… it’s maybe not slow enough but it’s not bad going slow… and it’s very fun on 3S, rock bouncer style 😎😎😎
Oh last thing, the tires are not bad at all! Not that sticky, but very soft. I think it’s probably one of the best crawler right out the box..

I think it looks better than the Mauler, and it certainly seems to drive well, straight out of the box. It would be interesting to see the RGT and the Mauler head to head. 👍🏻

I was tempted to buy this little guy for my 1st RGT rig, stopped short and bought the 18600 instead. Now I have made up my mind and getting this one on my list. That 550 motor should do the trick to climb. I do noticed the softer drag brakes. But then again.. I have decided. Thanks Phil.. you rock 👍🏾👍🏾

Nice bit of kit there Tomley, location looks great.
The way they construct these chassis with 4 link and center plates makes an instant monster truck with monster tires, faster motor and a rear sway bar.

I told you, you were the one that made me decide to order one. I just got mine in blue yesterday, I thought it would come in grey but I don't mind anyway 😁.
The first thing I did was to adjust a bit the front shock absorbers because it's heavier there and I turned upside down the bumper mounts so now I have a lot more travel on the front suspension 🙂

That's a decent platform to make into a Monster Truck. I did a little project build of late using an FTX Kanyon, adding a set of Proline 6" monster truck tyres and wheels, some wheel adapters, the usual mods I've done in the past to a Kanyon, a truck shell, and 2600kv 3660 brushless motor with 120A esc on 3S. It's quick enough for an MT, so realistic. This RGT you've reviewed looks great! edit, oh and with it being an FTX and sharing the axles with the Outlaw, out came the locked diffs and in went a pair of Outlaw diffs, 40k wt oil in the front and 25k wt in the rear.

Great crawler the wheels certainly help being nice and big, it’s also got excellent ground clearance and packs a punch when you need it 😎👍
That reverse drive will make a huge difference with the torque twist and most definitely required 👌🏼

5 minutes? My 2 RGT EX86110's with the same battery run for over an hour no problem at all.
Thats a nice bit of kit for sure and RGT keeps kicking goals in the budget end of the market.
Well… maybe 10.. although it may be that I’ve had a few duff batteries. This one actually surprised me. Not sure I’d get an hr out of it though!

The RGT and the FTX remind me so much of the everest10 redcat almost identical chassis on the RGT and axles on the FTX MAULER.

This thing looks awesome. Kinda reminds me of the old clodbuster/clodzilla chassis we use to build. Definitely needs 4 wheel steering though in my opinion. Still looks good 😎👍. I might have to look into 1 of these,lol. The price seems rite.
Yeah.. the Clodzilla. I think I built a Clodzilla 4 around 10yrs a go.. was a beautiful build, but needed quite a bit of work

Will it be worth reinforcing the body with some silicon/rtv to be able to bent without breaking and use some wheel spacers to avoid body rubbing or will it messes with the geometry of it?

Very nice video review, i was thinking of buying a high speed rc truck again, but when i watched your video, i was Amazed by the smooth performance of this RGT trample, high speed rc trucks are good but costly in maintenance especially in gears and drive shafts 😁. I will be ordering this RGT soon..

Very nice truck. While it is beyond most of our limited RC budgets, will you do a complete Insta360 review? It's unfortunate that you do not get the ability to FPV with it, what can you do with it after you've pulled the SD card? Besides the camera itself, what other stuff do you have to buy with it, realistically, to get something useful to use? What would the all-in cost be?
I have a full review coming 👍 I really like it… took it out yesterday to a show and did a little bit of FPV… using my phone… range is obviously really not that good. But it’s so versatile, you can mount it in so many decent places for the perfect shot
@@TomleyRC I’ve seen footage shot from quads and the Insta360 isn’t affected by range, is it? It’s recording to the SD card, isn’t it?
@@kodak_jack yeah, it records to the internal memory. The range is just WiFi/Bluetooth to see the screen on your phone.

How many degrees does it climb if give maximum grip on the surface? Have you done something like that?

The 86100 is more of a proper crawler, this is a little more like a comp crawler. Both decent though

What about waterproof ability?Can it submerged?
In my experience they are fine with water… although never recommend submerging them
Different body or just modify that body and wouldn’t have issue with rubbing. Seems like great vehicle. I wonder how add on upgrade support is for it. Integry or what ever.
Just an FYI as well not sure what it is but mic is picking up a very high pitch feedback from something. Maybe radio? Or is it from car?

Good bit better electrics, cvds instead of dog bones up front and a slipper clutch are some differences I've notice. Rock Hammer might side hill a little better. Thanks for the video.
Wish FTX would release this in the UK. I have a Mauler which is awesome, but this looks better!
In regards to repairs, 🔧do you know what aftermarket parts fit the RGT 18100 TRAMPLE? or do I have to purchase only RGT replacement parts?

hi Phil, do you think the reverse drive thing does much? I had a truck with it that torque twisted like crazy, thought that RD would have prevented it but once the front went light, it was game over. Nice video as ever, and the quarry actually looks scary. Take care 👍🍺
Compared to the Mauler it’s certainly noticeable. The newer FTX/RGTs have it and yeah, I think it is a good thing. Although timing your shocks helps as well along with weight distribution
Jeep Gladiator body style it is cool. Have you tried any Red Cat rc trucks I just got a volcano EPX. It was $179 USD

Damm, i wanted to spend only 200eur on the mauler but for 50eur more this is definettly worth it since it comes with all the upgrades mauler needed! only missing front lights!

Nice looking crawler! High CG and overdamped (easy to fix) but seems to perform well 👍 However, this is NO Capra killer and the price point is a bit high for an off-brand RC. I think it would do better converted to a monster truck. Thanks for the review!
A few people have mentioned it being a monster truck… maybe I need to do a few tweaks and make it happen 👍

but then a day after my package arrived, the RGT EX86100 V2 is released. LOL.
It has lamp, a more realistic body, but the motor is still 540.

@@TomleyRC Just found a new toy, it's not out yet but it's called the Redcat Danchee Ridgerock, 4WD and 4 wheel steering. I'm betting you're going to want it too haha. ($139 to preorder from Horizon Hobby).. man that thing is going to be good, it's 10th scale too. I'm too cautious, I'll wait to see how it works for others first.... knowing my look, it'll become a 500 quid machine in that time haha

I have an axial ax10 rs540 27 turn motor. I bought an eBay battery NiMH 3600mah. I don't rock crawl but do thick sand tracks at slow speed. Battery lasts.an hour.
The Rst Tramphole has a certain "ring" to it I suppose..... I'm here all day hehe
