    I made an error. The mounting brace for the adapter can be bought from Retro Frog, not Laser Bear. Link is in the description. The SD card bracket for the GCLoader ODE was purchased from Laser Bear though.

    Excellent video!
    Here's a pro-tip: Remember to hold the B button while booting up the game. Sometimes Progressive Scan doesn't activate by default, and the only option will be to tell the game that you want to enable this feature by doing the Hold B button method. Other games like F-Zero GX and Eternal Darkness even have options for 16:9 aspect ratio buried in their menus.You will be surprised how many Progressive Scan games there are that actually have this feature!

    Thank you for the video. What racing game is at the 2:30 mark?

      GT Cube . It's a Japanese only. Pretty fun GT clone albeit pretty basic.

    Can I force my PAL GameCube to play games from the GameBoy Player at 480p using either of these devices?

    • @goukigod
      @goukigod  2 месяца назад

      These adaptors simply output whatever signal the GameCube is producing. They can't change the signal. I think what you want is something like Swiss that allows you to force the GameCube to output different signals

    So I have the LG CX and I’m using the this HDMI by retro bit. And I notice audio lag. When playing for 5 minutes the audio starts to lag. An example would be when playing smash and i hit an opponent the sound would lag for a second. I’ve tried it on a tv that has hdmi and other video ports from 2008 the Sony Bravia and on that one is worse. Sound is gone for a whole second. Any suggestions this was really pricey almost $90 bucks :/. And I’ve tried different hdmi cables and the result is the same.

      I just fixed this on my prism, go to advanced settings and turn on sample rate hack

    Is it worth getting these adapters for a PAL gamecube? Since the resolution of PAL games is 480i instead of 480p?

    • @goukigod
      @goukigod  Год назад +1

      Yes. The digital output alone looks much sharper than cables. You can force a PAL gamecube to output 480p using Swiss too.

    Emulation on xbox is where I'm at. Resolution up to 8k.

      Sure, emulation has really come a long way but I will always prefer to play on original hardware

    Does this work fine or have its own options with gameboy software on the gameboy player?

    • @goukigod
      @goukigod  Год назад

      Will work fine with the Game Boy Player. I'm unsure if there's any custom settings for it sorry. If there isn't, I wouldn't be surprised if someone doesn't create some at some point.

    A quick question : what region of Gamecube are you using here ?
    Is it Japanese or an American model ??
    i'm living in PAL region and I "heard" that PAL Gamecube can't access to Progressive mode ...
    only US or Japanese Gamecubes ... Is it true ?? Do I need to chase a US or Japanese Dol-001 Gamecube ??

    • @goukigod
      @goukigod  Год назад +2

      It's not a hardware thing, particularly if you're using Swiss. The PAL GameCube supports 480p just fine. The feature wasn't enabled for PAL region games.
      Here's a list of PAL games you can force to use 480p www.gc-forever.com/wiki/index.php?title=Swiss/Forced_Progressive_Compatibility_List#PAL_game_list

      I use mine to run to a retrotink 4k

  • @dracojoule
    @dracojoule 2 года назад

    How does this compare to something like the retrotink 2x?

    • @goukigod
      @goukigod  2 года назад

      Similar devices although this one takes a digital signal directly from the console, rather than converting an analog signal first. So it produces a sharper picture than the retro think 2X, although you can use the 2x with more than just a GameCube

      @@goukigod I see! What if you're using the GameBoy player attachment where the resolution of those games is 240p, will the retrobit prism handle that?

      Absolutely

    Does the Prisma work for Nintendo 64 as well?

    • @goukigod
      @goukigod  8 месяцев назад +1

      No. It uses the Gamecube's unique Digital AV port. The N64 doesn't have this.

    • @ACobraFumante-th5lb
      @ACobraFumante-th5lb 8 месяцев назад

      Thank you for your reply. Was hoping to find a good not too expensive option that would work with both my N64 and GC. Hoping not to have to splash out the cash for one unit per console.

    • @goukigod
      @goukigod  8 месяцев назад

      @@ACobraFumante-th5lb Only thing that I know of that works for both is the HD Retrovision component cable. Even then, not all GameCube models are compatible. Check the HD Retrovision site to see if your model will work.
      Unfortunately 'not too expensive + good + works with everything' is kind of an impossible utopia.

      "Aitch" is the correct way to pronounce it in British English. If you check the Oxford English dictionary you will find it under "A".
      Irish English uses "Haitch".
      It is annoying that it is becoming more common in England and the "Haitch" people try to make out that "Aitch" people are pronouncing it wrongly.
