    Having the standard 650 Super Meteor shocks ajusted up two notches and still it bottoms out doing 25 to 30 mph on rough country roads in Hertfordshire England. So i will be replacing mine soon. Informative vid sir 🤘.

      I did get the standard shocks to work better when adjusted but like you I'd still get the hit on the hard spots. Did do a 700 mile ride a week ago and the YSS were the star of the show. Very good product. Take the time to adjust them in right. Wahoo!

    Very cool. I have found suspension upgrades to be worthwhile.

    Now this is a valid review! Lots of miles, willingness to take the shocks to uncomfortable levels to test them. The EASE of adjustment makes me think you could tune them as you go in order to optimize function to pavement.

      Not just a valid review, but this is the best way to test and set your shocks up for your needs as well. Good insights and thanks for sharing Fuzzy man! Wa Hoo! 😀

      Thanks! have rode this bike another 800 miles since this video. Did a bunch of interstate with the YSS. Have found the shocks really work well. Do plan on leaving the settings at 3 for another 1000 miles. May click down to 2 when doing long interstate rides. As you said, easy to make adjustments. Wahoo!

    It's all down to trial and error and personal preference. I replaced the shock on my old R80 Airhead last year with a Hagon shock (it's monolever) and now I've got the set up exactly how I want it!

    I know of a couple of people that state a really good improvement with Hagon shocks also, which Baxter Cycle also sells and they are much less than the YSS. Good to know that the YSS are very good though.

    Great vid 👍 Don’t forget, if you’re planning on touring, you may have loaded bags etc increasing your overall weight. What is good for solo riding and no luggage may be different when you’re loaded up. Also, will you have a pillion?

    I sat on the SM650 and found it pretty comfy for a tall guy but you never really know till you’ve been on a long ride
    Enjoying your videos on the bike!

    Another fantastic video fuzzy. How is that windscreen for helmet buffeting? You and i are the same height.

    • @forgottenmotorcycles
      @forgottenmotorcycles  11 месяцев назад +1

      I wear an HJC i90 helmet and get very little buffeting, almost none, unless it's super windy out. Feel the windshield is excellent. Hoping it does okay in hard rains...I'm sure we will find that out soon. Wahoo!

    The curse of forward controls can't stand up or use legs to brace.I twisted spine at 18yrs old & then broke it in bike crash 17months ago & told my back was arthritic.I always had back problems after twisting it.Upright riding position is for me cause legs take some of the compression as on forward controls legs take very little compression & spine takes more compression no good if got bad back.
    Suspension is really important to get comfort just right glad you worked out a good setting & those YSS be so much better than RE rear shocks.
