Wow! It's great when things just work! The nutted hub axles will not slip. One thing to check for though is the bearing preload locknuts working loose when you tighten the wheel in place. The axle sometimes turns as you tighten the wheel in the dropouts. This isn't always obvious, and I've toasted some wheel bearings that way! As always, it looks like a great time and you've

I have a question you may be able to help with. I seen a small frame dirt jumper for a decent price. However I'm 5'11 and use a large hard tail. Is the small frame size (15) a huge problem?
what size is that spindle for the bmx cranks as i have the same bearings in my rocky mountain flow 2 i was looking at doing the same thing to it

the most important part is getting starting, so (personally) i would go with the cheapest option you have
bmx is easier to learn on

He has done a wheel building video covering the basics. There is also a book he mentions in a couple of videos about wheel building that covers the topic in more depth. There are so many ways to build a wheel. mountain bikes use one particular lacing pattern the most (3 cross), that's what he covered in his wheel building video.
