Ever tried running your favourite Windows application on Linux? What’s been your biggest success (or headache) with Bottles? Let’s share tips and tricks here - drop your experience in the comments!
I’m happy to say I have my last two “have to” windows programs working with bottles. See ya Microsoft!!! It took some tweaks, but testing so far looks great. My third program “Lightburn” does an an error having to do with windows WMI service, but is working. I’m looking for a tweak for that. I can open a command line and start the service, then start the exe and viola…. Works. Just trying to automate that.
Thank you for the update - your answer might be a pre-run script in the Bottle configuration, so you can run something before something else (if that makes sense) in a sequential order. But with Lightburn being so specific, you'll appreciate I don't have this in my lab. But...hearing you are now able to move away from Windows just made my day!
When I right click on the desktop in Linux Mint and select Display Settings, there's a list with resolutions to select from. If you don't get that there are some things you can do. But honestly we need more info here, also KVM is not the topic of this video you're commenting on. Are you using QEMU/VMM, what Linux distro is your actual operating system and what distro is the virtualised host, etc. Can I please suggest you have a look here: How to configure QEMU/KVM Hypervisor and run a VIRTUAL MACHINE (Linux Mint / Ubuntu) ruclips.net/video/BbJmmPLU0Ak/видео.html And then leave your comment there with as much environment details as possible? Happy to take it from there.
Hello! For reference, at what point in the video please? Do you have some more details, maybe which program. I don't fully understand the "Windows based webpage link" just yet, my apologies.
@ my question is not related to your video. I have a website I used to use when I had Windows, and now I don’t, I just have Linux Mint. I would like to be able to install this windows program into Linux. Can you please help me.
@@norfolkhiker1449 This is still unclear. Why would you need a Windows program to be installed if you visit a website? Is it local Java or ActiveX? Try to describe the situation with as much environment details as possible and the program name and maybe then we can try to figure it out or I can even try to reproduce it for you on my end. You did manage to get Bottles installed and configured? If it really has nothing to do with this video or is not even Bottles related, this might not be the best place for the question.

Hello
Please can you tell me how I add a Windows based webpage link into bottles. The program I wish to run says it’s for Windows and Mac only
