- We had this stunning BMW Individual Twilight Purple F90 M5 come to us for our tried and tested Stage 2 Package that we have refined on our own car over the last year. Through extensive road and dyno testing we have optimised the DME Calibrations to unleash the F90 M5's true potential once the restrictive stock cats have been removed.
Retaining the stock exhaust and fitting the Supersprint Catless Downpipes also changes the personality of the exhaust sound, and adds more aggression to the overrun burbles.

All I know is every car needs to have catless downpipes and stage 2 ... about ten german cars joined the M1 the other day after a car meet in Luton I randomly ended up as part of the convoy and nearly creamed myself hearing the pops and bangs of all the cars.

I’ve seen a million downpipe and other installation videos and I have to say this was actually pretty refreshing not to hear anyone speak, just watch progress develop before my eyes with great videography and a nice soundtrack! I’ll be back for more.

hi from South Africa buddy. I also own a 2019 M5, and only wish I could that to my car. We have this motoplan that comes with the car (5yrs), so doing anything remotely like this will void the plan, and I can forget selling the car in the future....

@evolve i gather this is not a competition model has he just changed badges and grill to black, i cant see the opf filters near the front of oem system? I thought all comp models had opf. Im tempted to get DPs on my M5 comp but worry with stock opfs will still be restricted.
From memory yes you are correct.
We do not advise catless downpipes with OPF in place.

Weird question but do you know if an audi style flashing head/ tail lights system exists for bmws? I cant find any.

I'm an electronics engineer and actually designed and made a pair for the back of my M3 at the time. They scanned across like the Audi indicators, and looked pretty cool. Don't have the car any more, but if you see one in the UK with audi style indicators, it may have been mine :)

Hey the m6 does not sound the same unfortunately. It can still get a very nice sound with downpipes though.

Can you do this and remove the burbles? Actually how much louder that stock is this on start up and normal driving with the exhaust flaps closed?
Not without changing the ECU software.
It’s a fair bit louder, if you wanted less sound just the OPF delete would be a good option.
@Evolve Automotive thanks. I'll currently torn between an F80 m3 comp and an F90 M5 so doing plenty of research. Was looking at Bootmod3 stage 1 or 2 for either.
Is that 4x CATS, or CAT and a PPF per bank ?
4x cats. This was a non PPF car.

Unfortunately we didn’t take the RS3 in the end as not all the parts turned up in time :( it is going to Santa Pod next week though!

This what I call digital bhp, very high on power output but not as tasty as analogue bhp, just like organic and genetically modified food, still creative.

Yeah the V8 on the M5 is reversed compared to "normal" V8s. The inlets are on the sides, and exhaust ports are in the middle/top. It's supposed to help reduce heat soak in the inlet manifolds, and allows the turbos to sit in the centre V.
