    Elegant, poise, charm, and beyond funny... Certainly a far cry from the crass garden implement chic that's so popular with female comedians of the current era.
    Ms. Rudner's career is on the same trajectory as Betty White vs. the flash of aging potty-mouthed party girls.

      @alburnett75 2 года назад +1

      Comedians are true to themselves. Some are like this and some are not. I like comedians of all kinds. Your preference of comedy Is just that YOUR PREFERENCE. It's just like everything else in this world, if you don't like it then you just move on to something you do. We are all different for a reason. You can't expect comedians who've had successful careers to read a bunch of RUclips comments and go " Omg I had no idea that's what EVERYONE preferred. Ill stop being myself now and be more like that." If you don't enjoy a comedian that says curse words like a majority of humans living on this earth then that's your right and there are a lot of clean comedians to enjoy. But it's not okay for you to belittle those that do. I remember a time when you could not like something and just move onto something you did without pushing your agenda down people's throats. I miss those days😔

    To be fair, stand up was a lot different in 1996, especially in the "clean/family" space. However, this space was also occupied by Brian Regan, Jim Gaffigan, Kevin James... On a side note, I get the feeling that Natasha Leggero may have found some delivery/presence inspiration here.

    • @chrisbrown18andup
      @chrisbrown18andup 8 лет назад

      +Sarahbellum 1245 They don't last in this brutal industry. Cite a comedian who's edgy yet not funny in your eyes. then we can have an interesting conversation!

    • @AquariusRisen
      @AquariusRisen 8 лет назад +1

      I actually find sexual and race related humor to be a bit gimmicky, even amongst the "greats." Especially those who rely on it for a majority of their material. Chris Rock, Patrice O Neal, Bob Saget, and those like George Lopez and Carlos Mencia get on my nerves in particular because their whole shtick is "Mexicans are like this, white people are like that..." That's not to say it can't be done - someone like Dave Chapelle, who offers a fresh perspective on a common trope, can make anything funny.

    • @chrisbrown18andup
      @chrisbrown18andup 8 лет назад +1

      Sarahbellum 1245 Patrice offered mind boggling perspective on race. His conversions, though, were better than his specials. Although, I'm sure they'd be more comparable had he not left us early.
      Race, religion, and sexuality are what defines humanity, and it has for the duration of written history. Comedians offer perspective of these heady topics that can't be achieved in other forms of intellectualization or commentary. Carlos and Lopez are garbage, but perhaps Chris Rock or Patrice would think you and I have underlying racism towards Mexicans. That's the potentially problematic way to approach it, which makes it the funniest. Humanity works out serious issues through the common folk's (bottom of society - up) comedy. Serious conversations on these topics start systematic (top - down) wars.
