Great work from Rita. She's always been funny without needing to be dirty. Well thought out humour.
Rita is a national treasure. Always funny, always clean.
Wearing a dress of a red house hostess
This woman still looks fantastic! And still very funny, keep going Rita.
Rita is SOOO original!!! The laugh, the surprising punch-lines and that slightly wide-eyed, slightly disconcerting gaze...luv it! Luv ya, Rita!!
Elegant, poise, charm, and beyond funny... Certainly a far cry from the crass garden implement chic that's so popular with female comedians of the current era.
Ms. Rudner's career is on the same trajectory as Betty White vs. the flash of aging potty-mouthed party girls.
She's great! I forgot how funny she is.
My favorite female comic. Always funny.
Wow, you know someone is capable of true comedy when it transcends time... still funny in 2019
OK they didn't put the year in the title, so does anyone know when it was?
Bella Strange 1996, it says it right at the beginning of the video
@@checkm8964 Ah thanks! Somehow I missed that and didn't think to go back and watch it to find the date.
"Well, it's cheaper and you get more feet...."
Now THERE'S a coincidence. I just watched that too!
She is the FIRST Millenial. Imagine that.
She reminds me a cool aunt or cousin with a marvelous sense of humor. I like her comedic timing and pause for effect.
"You have to be so careful that first week" learned a life lesson!
I have always loved her delivery.
Rita is a great comedienne. Her work is clean and entertaining.......
“I don’t panic when I get lost. I just change where it is I want to go.”
“Men teach dogs totally different tricks than woman teach dogs... I said ‘Look, I taught him to sit!’, my husband says ‘Look, if you put him on the roof and light his tail he jumps into the pool!’”
Man, she's hot
I always had the hots for her. I envy her husband.
Like what she has on a red dress that shows her cleavage. WOW WHAT A WOMAN!!
@@sean607ify And keep in mind that she was born in 1953 -- I used to see her all the time in LA in the clubs in the 80s -- would laugh till I cried - she's always been pretty. That red dress is just stunning, classy sexy at it's best.
I'd pay for tickets to see her in that dress reading Mother Goose rhymes!
Beautiful, clean humor, great interaction and delivery... and a most impeccable dresser!
Matthew Hamersly I’d be right there with you!
What a dress!! So comfortable looking but awesome!
Glad she fixed the big ass.
Lovely gentle comedy without swearing why can't all comedians do that?
some of us aren't old farts and enjoy comedy thats willing to challenge and offend our assumptions!
why can't *more* comedians do clean comedy? it's hard to do it well.
She's always so adorable.
Before Ellen became my favorite female stand up comedian, it was Rita. A different style than Ellen to be sure, but Rita is just as comfortable as Ellen is on stage. And damn, Rita is kicking it in that dress!
So this is OBVIOUSLY the woman who influenced Natasha Leggero
She's so funny and so beautiful.
I had SUCH a crush on her...
What class she really is a cool lady. Shes hits the nail on the head about life.
Funny but not Dirty, How DOES she do that, absolutely amazing.
Simple ...she was raised a certain way and she never strayed from her good upbringing! I'm very happy there are a lot of people who appreciate that she refrains from using unwelcome profanity
@@heavnnnsent Yes, she is simply the best.
All comedians should read comments for this You Tube. Seems I'm not the only person that prefers comedy with out profanity and explicit content. Thank you Rita!
Trust me she is as funny as it gets and profanity is disgusting too many of us. Some comedians use it and they are funny but I prefer my comedy to be pure and unadulterated.
Comedians are true to themselves. Some are like this and some are not. I like comedians of all kinds. Your preference of comedy Is just that YOUR PREFERENCE. It's just like everything else in this world, if you don't like it then you just move on to something you do. We are all different for a reason. You can't expect comedians who've had successful careers to read a bunch of RUclips comments and go " Omg I had no idea that's what EVERYONE preferred. Ill stop being myself now and be more like that." If you don't enjoy a comedian that says curse words like a majority of humans living on this earth then that's your right and there are a lot of clean comedians to enjoy. But it's not okay for you to belittle those that do. I remember a time when you could not like something and just move onto something you did without pushing your agenda down people's throats. I miss those days😔
@@alburnett75 Yes! Thank You! You nailed it!
Some can appreciate all forms of comedy, because we're not attached to asinine ideas that certain words or shared human experiences are 'bad'. Rita is great. So are all the other women who do this, no matter how they present their comedy. Choose love! ~THC
That last one was as funny as heck. I must admit that I haven't tried that one with our dogs🤣
She's right about the first week. I still do the cooking and dishes to this day.
Man, it’s like standup’s version of pleasantville.
a white car ! priceless !
I may have the map but we both forgot the compass. Also, we're not lost, we're having an adventure.
The Gas Fairy 😂
This woman reminds me of Morticia from the 'Addam's Family Values' movie and that busty woman from the live action 'The Grinch Who Stole Christmas'. Like, she's a perfect mixture of the two in voice, attire, and looks. LOVE HER.
What a stupid analogy.
I haven't heard any new material from her in a long time. Great set and she looks amazing! Congrats on your 8th Anniversary. My husband and I just Celebrated our 12th Anniversary. Good to have you back Mrs.Rudner!
Sunsetter678 ummm you realise this is from 2 decades ago, right??
It's Mrs Bergman.
flawless
00:08 Good job editing the sound, kids. Don't quit your day job.
Unless this is it. Then quit it.
Give em a break. It was probably done in the 90s
I've seen shows from the 70's that had better editing.
But I have yet to see any that had worse.
Funny you should ask. I am now a sound technician.
E on the gas gauge means enough. Lol
I never saw her as attractive, but she is dazzling
Rediscovered Rita. Love her.
Look at the demeanor of all men. They dont want to clap and their laughs are subtle. What women of comendy have to prove is astounding.
That doesn't mean anything. I love Rita and I love her delivery but she doesn't make me slap my knee in laughter. She's a gem to watch and listen to and she is hilarious, but I don't need to be in stitches to enjoy her. Her comedy and approach is a lot different from other female comediennes and that's why I enjoy her.
I would marry this woman...beautiful and funny with perspective.
She is amazing.
Manganese for depression 3-7 mg. I take 10 mg from vitamin Shoppe brand. Daily
For anxiety vitamin B1 Benforthiamin 600 mg. And potassium and magnesium for it to work.
But women drivers still can't read maps, that's why they always stop & ask for directions every 5 miles! Ha!
To be fair, stand up was a lot different in 1996, especially in the "clean/family" space. However, this space was also occupied by Brian Regan, Jim Gaffigan, Kevin James... On a side note, I get the feeling that Natasha Leggero may have found some delivery/presence inspiration here.
This is legitimately funny, guys. I laughed out loud. You're totally right about Natasha!
I beg to differ... it's much more difficult to be funny when you can't rely on "edgy" material that provokes uncomfortable laughs.
+Sarahbellum 1245 They don't last in this brutal industry. Cite a comedian who's edgy yet not funny in your eyes. then we can have an interesting conversation!
I actually find sexual and race related humor to be a bit gimmicky, even amongst the "greats." Especially those who rely on it for a majority of their material. Chris Rock, Patrice O Neal, Bob Saget, and those like George Lopez and Carlos Mencia get on my nerves in particular because their whole shtick is "Mexicans are like this, white people are like that..." That's not to say it can't be done - someone like Dave Chapelle, who offers a fresh perspective on a common trope, can make anything funny.
Sarahbellum 1245 Patrice offered mind boggling perspective on race. His conversions, though, were better than his specials. Although, I'm sure they'd be more comparable had he not left us early.
Race, religion, and sexuality are what defines humanity, and it has for the duration of written history. Comedians offer perspective of these heady topics that can't be achieved in other forms of intellectualization or commentary. Carlos and Lopez are garbage, but perhaps Chris Rock or Patrice would think you and I have underlying racism towards Mexicans. That's the potentially problematic way to approach it, which makes it the funniest. Humanity works out serious issues through the common folk's (bottom of society - up) comedy. Serious conversations on these topics start systematic (top - down) wars.
Happy Birthday to Rita.9-17-53.FL.
At the time I hated Rita. Now I'd rather be on bored and play stupid and be happy. Then smart and miserable.
Love you Rita. NY here
Gotta love Rita's style of humor
Humorous author Leo Rosten once defined true humor as "the affectionate communication of insight." Rita Rudner is the epitome of that.
She reminds me of Sheldon from big bang theory.
Yeah.. He completely hijacked her delivery.
Stupid comment.
No,,, if the gas tank is on E,, it's e for enough
She leans into the female stereotypes as a heartwarming side of her unlike today’s women.
Beautiful Dress one of my favorite comedians
imo
still damn funny
imo
A Rita Rudner quote. When I met Mr Right - I did not know his first name was "Always"
Thank you Al Gore Rhythms. And Peter's Friends.
Dear Diary, When I met Ms Right Angle aka Ms Laura Ingraham - I did not know she was a would be "first lady" All The Way!
"When some body loves you" lyrics?
My all-time favorite, what else to be said, She's simply the best, not to be compared, she appeals to the keener, finest, cleanest senses. And with great timing and unexpected punch lines, above all, always delivered without reaching with slime, gore, and gutter residue. I had long ogo inscribed her in my book of none-such, for in her craft, she's been set apart!
Dearest Rita, that's all!
I love seeing how unimpressed the men in the audience was, stand up was still super male dominant back then. Ah what a woman
1996!? It doesn't seem that long ago. Oh man, can we all wish to go back to the 90's? Maybe we'll back in time if we all do it
montreal is rife with mullets
Lots of sex appeal
I have a white car....
she is funny and very pretty
She could have dressed herself
Class. Sheer class.
1.8K+👍's up thanks for sharing
,,,, yes, very funny !!!
She is just terrific
Naturally funny. No vulgarities.
RITA RUDNER IS REFRESHING TO WATCH, NEVER USES CURSE WORDS OR SPEAKS OF SEX, THAT'S TRUE COMEDY AT ITS FINEST!!
She's beautiful.
ralph salotto yes she is!
Wow
hot
Honey you’re on bug patrol 😂😘🥶❤️
Rita is just talking about my mom at this point
Rhoda Rooter in Hollywood !
Wow, so funny and true!
Rita Rudner is the best.
She Is AWESOME.
Lol so true 😜
Thank you...
Look at the microphone technique. Pretty girl, people want to see the face, hold the microphone down so they can see it. It annoys the wotsit out of me to see people who seem to think they have to have the microphone against their lips for it to work. I wonder the agents don't catch on to this.
Amazing rack to go with the humor just splendid!
She bought those with the dress, they were having a sale.
Women comics suck imo. They just don’t have the right delivery. The only one I can think of who’s good on her delivery is Wanda Sykes. And I hate her trump hating ass but she is great how she delivers her comedy. Lady comics want to laugh at their own jokes to much.
The garbage is womens work
This kinda wholesome comedy zzzzZzzzZZZZ boring lol
Yeah... She's kinda funny kooky witty but most of her schtick is men are like that, women are like this. And we thought maybe the 60s changed all that?
Men don't buy cars for themselves men buy fancy cars because they know women love them. It's the bait.
*because they THINK women love them.
shes like a female version of seinfeld
