- Rita Rudner began her career as a Broadway dancer, Rita Rudner noticed the lack of female comedians in New York City and turned to stand-up comedy where she has flourished for over three decades. Her performance on a variety of HBO specials and numerous appearances on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson, helped establish Rudner as one of the premier comics to emerge from the comedy boom of the 1980s. In this Showtime special Rita hosts her comedian friends in her most irreverent special to date, called "Rita Rudner and 3 potential Ex-Husbands". This is Rita's full set only from this special.

I've been a Rita fan for at least 30 years. It is amazing how her comedy is so razor sharp and yet so free of dirt. I used to talk about Rita Rudner jokes with my 90-year-old mother, who always loved a good joke. Rita is one of the finest comedy talents to come along in years. We are all lucky to have been touched by her.that
Her comedy has been spot on for decades. She's a treasure.
Back in the 80's she had this timid librarian kind of persona, but now it's a life-weary mom just doing her best to cope.
She told a joke once on Caroline's Comedy Hour about 30 years ago which my (Scottish) wife and I still laugh about. Rita said she is American and her husband is English; their kids are rude but disgusted with their own behavior 😂🤣

My favorite joke of hers: when I want to break up with a guy I don't tell him that; I say, I love you, I want to spend my life with you, I want to have babies with you... Sometimes they leave skid marks 😂
OMG love it! I'm Irish and my ex-husband was Jewish so I tell people that when any of my kids get into a bar fight, it's very confusing for them. They don't know whether get into a physical altercation or get a good lawyer and sue

This lady keeps getting better and better. Gorgeous at any age and the amazing thing is that her comedy is still so hilariously clean and perfect for the entire family. Can't get enough of her. One of the true female veterans of the genre.

My favorite joke is the one about going back to an exe is like backing over a DO NOT BACK UP tire grate…you go back because you think you might have forgotten something, but deep down inside, you know it’s going to end badly! 😂😂😂

Been a fan since late 90's and she has only gotten better and quite frankly even more beautiful. Love the fact she can drop some great innuendo and seem so innocent at the same time.
That's the word! I was thinking "Well yeah, she's clean, but she doesn't avoid mature subjects." And it's because she doesn't TRY to be gross, quite the opposite. Like that double-punchline "And my husband said "Wait...why do we have to remove the eggs?". So we adopted." That sharply perceptive about men's carnal nature, but not gross. She's terrific.

I agree. She's probably not dirty enough for today's comedians. That's one of the reasons I love her. She's always been hysterically funny and never once changed her style, thank goodness!
