Is marram a pioneer species? My Y9 class know its in the foredunes not the embyo dunes.
At Studland Marram grass definitely grows in the yellow dunes as well as the embryo dunes, however this maybe different in other dune systems. Thanks for your comment.

Marram grass is NOT a pioneer species of embryo dunes. It only exists in yellow dunes, along with Sea Lyme Grass.
