I’m currently 24 weeks pregnant with dizygotic twins after a single embryo transfer. After years of trying and multiple doctors saying that we won’t be able to ever conceive naturally. So we have one IVF baby plus one natural baby = 2 miracle babies 🥰
I was 39 when I got pregnant with my twins (DCDA or DiDi). I got my boy and girl with one pregnancy. A lot of people think this is amazing (which, it is) and it’s like “Ah two for the price of one!” Etc. (Ugh… no! Two for the price of TWO!) 😂 They are incredible, however they were born at 30 weeks gestation and spent a lot of time on nicu and special care (australia). They are fine now at 15 months old, but it was so HARD!! And yes, for the millionth time…. I DO have my hands (and my heart) full.
I am a triplet because of injectable meds. I grew up hearing how hard my mom's pregnancy was and how long we spent in the NICU. But info like this is really hammering home how dangerous it was! I was the smallest of us and I was about 1127 grams (2 lbs 4.5 oz). But even the largest of us was not quite at 3lbs. But all three of us survived and the worst complication we ended up with was my asthma from being on oxygen for so long. I'm grateful that we got so lucky!
Hi... From Portugal 🇵🇹...😊 After one IVF cycle failure, I've got pregnant naturally and it's a mono/mono pregnancy (two babies) ... So my miracle happened...😊🙏 Right after an IVF cycle failure and before a new IVF cycle... Thanks Dr Natalie for all the information... Was useful for my IVF cycle... I knew the right questions to ask my OB-GYN/fertility Doctor... Thank you so much 😘
Congratulations! May I know in the wait time between the two cycles , did you communicate your thoughts about you would be trying naturally ? If yes, what did your doctor say? Or you just did it without telling your doctor?
Thank you for your video. I had Mono/Di twins after IVF. Unfortunately they did not make it after twin to twin transfusion syndrome surgery. I was referred to the specialist too late. It’s important to bring awareness to these risks.
It was one of the best videos I’ve watched to get information about twins and I really appreciate it! I am doing IVF now and just extracted eggs. This made me decide on single embryo! Thank you Dr!
Wow... I'm actually going through IVF right now and i had no idea the risks of twins was just generally higher as a result of IVF. And i read ALL of the of l paperwork and watched all the modules. This is because the assumption was that this was directly related to transferring more than one embryo at once ...i didn't realize that each individual embryo was at a higher risk of splitting!
I’m currently 12 weeks with twins following my first double embryo transfer in January. It’s super uncommon in the UK for clinics to even allow a double transfer, but my clinic seemed to encourage it and even froze our 7 embryos in 3 pairs plus one lonely one of lesser quality - without prior consultation. I’m 26 too so seems bizarre! So we were forced to transfer both or let one perish as it likely wouldn’t have survived the thaw and another freeze. Crossing everything that all ends up being well with them, thanks for the informative video 💞
@@ImogenRoseFitness this was Shropshire & Mid Wales Fertility Centre in Shrewsbury 😊 ah thank you, for the most part it went well but unfortunately my emergency c section (at 34 weeks) resulted in a hysterectomy after losing 5 litres of blood due to placenta accreta. It’s all been very traumatic but I’m just relieved that the boys are okay. Best of luck with your treatment, when do you start? Xx
Oh my gosh girl I'm so sorry that must have been so very traumatic for you!! I'm happy your boys are ok though, what a blessing. Through storms there's rainbows at the end :) I have my consultation with the Dr next month and they will decide on how many cycles. Just had my endo surgery this month so hoping it's succesfull :)@@lewamush9325
Hello. I'm considering Clomid (or its alternative). Advanced maternal age, I've had three miscarriages in just over a year. At 41, in Feb of this year at 42 and a few days ago in April at 43. At this point, I just want ONE healthy baby. If I use a medicine such as Clomid, is there any way to avoid twins? I wouldn't be using IVF (I don't think Clomid is considered IVF), just taking the medicine in hopes that one of the multiple eggs that comes will be the right one.
How you going to call me old with Jon & Kate plus 8 and not mention Octomom as well 😂 My older sisters are twins, born in 71 so they're definitely natural twins.
So love all of your videos, any advice for poor responders with low AMH who medical professionals say they can’t “help” but to keep trying naturally? Are there any viable homeopathic options to help to regulate a monthly cycle? I’m sure there are other woman out there in a similar situation.
I know I'm watching this video and reading the comments LONG after they were made... But, if you're still on your fertility journey, check out NaPro fertility specialists. They do everything possibly naturally and will work with someone with low AMH.
I just lost one of my twins (at 10 weeks pregnant). I'm 47 years old, and these twins occurred without fertility treatments. It was possibly genetic why I miscarried one baby. It's still early, so I've been advised that I could lose the other. My question --- given my age, what type of fertility treatments should I look into if this pregnancy doesn't make it. Thank you.
I was di-di twin, born 1500 gramms, my sister about the same . My twin di-di girls were born at 37.5 weeks, 2500 and 2800. Not ivf, but laparascopy for endo, some hormones for 1 month, natural pregnancy the next month 🎉🎀🎀
In my understanding the goal is more than one but if you get 3, 4, 5 they may cancel. My insurance will allow me to convert an IUI cycle to IVF had I over responded in that way
I had 4 follicles grow using letrozole. We did timed intercourse and I just found out we’re having triplets. My Dr. said that’s a 1 in 4,000 chance. Hope it helps.
I'm currently on my first cycle of letrozole and have 2 matured eggs (one on each ovary). The doctor didn’t recommend we have twins because I'm only 23 and it's a lot to take in but I don’t know what to do tbh. There’s a chance of both being fertilized and implantated, or only 1 or even neither of them... (I have pcos)
A question best asked of your own doctor, nurse, or specialist. People on youtube know too little of all other factors in your case to give responsible, reliable answers.
I would love more information about what you said at 9:58 I am so thankful to have this tidbit of information (about trending away from injectables for ovulation induction, and if oral medication is unsuccessful that the newer standard recommendation is to go straight to IVF). I am at the start of my fertility treatment & this will be our first month trying with assistance from a fertility specialist. I was offered by my doctor to choose between oral meds or injectables plus timed intercourse since our only issue seems to be diminished ovarian reserve. I was leaning towards trying Clomid first anyway & now after learning more over the past couple of weeks including this video, my decision is made. I'm so thankful for your channel while simultaneously a little disappointed my doc was actually pushing for injectables with timed intercourse or IUI... makes me wonder if she's as up to date on newer research & techniques as you are... But this is the beauty of having resources like you on the internet!!
Dr. Crawford: my hubby is half-Japanese, so I’m wondering if my chances of having twins are even lower than I though? Or do they think that’s more related to Japanese women rather than the man? We have a 16 month old daughter (naturally conceived) & I’m 33. We’re hoping to have two more babies and I would love a two-for so I only have to be pregnant one more time. 😂 But now I’m thinking that’s probably less likely unless we need to do IVF and the risks are higher than I thought.
Twins have nothing to do with the father, even if he comes from a family of multiple multiples. It all has to do with the woman. Did she hyper-ovulate and release more than one egg? Did mom’s egg split? It comes down to the egg, not the sperm.
If I get IVF could my child have a monkey DNA in them. That's what my mom was telling me. And she also said that it is only for married people and you could have multiple kids at the same time and that it was not natural. If I get IVF I well ask God to make me have Twins.❤✝️🙏🏽🧕🏽😇. Hopefully it is not a sperm from a murder or something😬😭.
