Oh and I don't have a tension/torsion wrench but neither did the original mechanics so i did it up till it couldn't be tightened anymore and that will have to do..... we'll see
I think PSA changed the design somewhere around 2004/2005. So you have the same engine but 2 different covers and gaskets depending on the production year/month. Same with the oil filter design and (I think) parts of the air intake. Don't ask me how I know. 😉
So my 307 was emitting a blueish-white smoke and doesn't overheat, but seems to misfire a little. The gasket is clearly leaking because you can see oil around it. I'm about to fix it and I hope everything works when I'm done.
Good day, come easy, while checking the spark plugs today, the spark plugs were oily as if I took them out of the oil, what could be the reason, what could be the bidet misfire in the vehicle pejo 307 1.6 16v 2004 Model Thank you very much for your interest and interest
I got fhat plastic gasked plus beside that i got some red paste and still got bit oil leak.. Will new gasket fix that? Im planing to disamble, clean ans put new one without paste, or i need paste too?
Hi I have a 2005 peugeot 407 sw 1.8 litre petrol. it has 146000 miles on it but every two months I have to top up the oil. I did notice that their is some oil around the rocker cover on the back. my question is. Should I follow the same process in stopping the leak? thanks
Hi Anthony, I woud recommend you to buy the correct gasket and replace it. If you are very low on money you can try this repair. It has been working fine with my car and I have been driving over 15.000 km afterwards. I see no problem up until the day today - keep in mind that it will always be better with propper gasket :) Cheers
All EW family 1.8/2.0/2.2 are good engines without chronical problems that kill the engine, the same for this TU5. Head gaskets or even head covers are normal to be changed after some years of use in all cars.
I haw broken my cover coz a wrong gasket, I received gasket weth pleh but i nedet onli rober, cover is shallower. Same engine TU5JP4 NFU 1,6 307SW two different cover caps same engine.
