I was very happy to see the way you used your existing coax cable from your antenna. I was so dreading running all née cable. I too am a Direct TV customer so this appeals to me over the Dish Network setups.

I glad that I found this video. I was always getting mixed information on how to use DirecTV in my camper. Good job!

Thanks bud, you are right as you definitely have a beautiful 360 degrees view!!!! And loved the way you robbed the excising coax from your tv. Looks pretty easy and can’t wait to get mine hooked up!!!!

Hey I seen your hookup with the satelite on your rv,awesome view by the way. Did you have to setup your satelite service b4 hand and did they have issues on the old reciever. I'm having problems with direct tv

Great video. When you added the receiver to your plan, did you just tell them which receiver you wanted which was compatible to the satellite?

I know this video is older, but curious if you're using the same setup now in sd or if they shut it off? I've been paying a monthly $65 during summer months to Dish and using my King Dome, because DirecTv told me I'd have to spend a ridiculous amount to use my current subscription to purchase a sled. Hubby said we aren't paying that amount of $, let alone how big and bulky the dish is now. Thanks.

Since this, we went with T-Mobile home internet $50 a month and 2 new smart tvs. Take the internet anywhere you go.

Ok So I have a box at my house that is active on my account that we do not use at the moment. I can bring it with me when I go camping this weekend and set it up to my parents RV antenna and get cable? I have the Standard box like you showed in the video :)

This will only work with the satellite dish shown in this video, not with an RV antenna. Check the part number referenced in the video description. Have a safe trip!

Nice idea with the antenna coax. Mine has a power button to power the antenna built on.. in.. the wall like an outlet switch. Wonder if it will work for the satellite power too!

this question may be a little ignorant, but is this good for anything without Direct TV service? We just bought a motorhome with this already installed. I just want to know if it has any purpose if you don't have a Direct TV service plan. Thanks!

If it’s the same as this on, only Directv will work. There are others that work with dish

If I permanently install my King QV4100 dish with the handle pointed to the rear of the RV, as the KING installation video directs, does that mean that I have to park my RV in a southerly direction for the dish to find the signal? Or does it do a 360 degree search, no matter what direction the RV is parked?

    • @OldNo7Garage
      @OldNo7Garage  4 года назад

I would say as long as the southerly path is free of obstructions, tree limbs etc. you can park any way you please. That’s the joy of having a dish such as this. Like I said, just make sure there is a clear view of the south for the satellite to find signal. If you have any more questions, please, let me know.

Old No.7 Garage That is exactly what I was thinking. But I’m on a shake dedicated to full-time RV years, and asked how people like this dish One lady replied that she did like it, but she couldn’t mount it on her vehicle because she would have to point her vehicle south every time she park. That was contrary to what I was thinking.

Old No.7 Garage Ok. I’m just happy that there’s a video about the D12-100 that hasn’t been uploaded for six years. I was confused on how you got the box activated and googled it. DirecTV started shutting down SD channels in April. I found this article that said you can no longer activate them. But clearly it’s wrong. Here’s the link to the article: forums.att.com/t5/DIRECTV-DVR-Receivers/Activating-an-SD-receiver/td-p/5869380 Sorry to bother you so much.

    • @OldNo7Garage

Haven’t tried this but honestly I’d say no. Just because the satellite has to search to find signal. I don’t know how it would keep the signal. Only One way to know......

Wow tried to watch your video, but you made me very dizzy with your video. You need to slow down when you move the camera so it wont seem like the Merry Go Round kicked into high gear.
