What's good about this press is that when done on shoulder day due to the load vector it guarantees that your triceps won't hold you back. The upper portion of the movement is easier and that's where the triceps take over.
Nicely done, although I disagree with the use of a plate. At any low angle or dynamic movement that's just asking for it to come loose. I suppose you might not strictly call it a press at that point, but some of the best landmine movements are off center line. Are you making a distinction there?
Criticalbench Ehh, kind of. Still inline with the body though. I was referring more to movements like sweeps that take it out farther. You can get wide range of motion.
Actually ,it's a big mistake just putting the end of the barbell in the plate without the landmine attachment they sell strictly for doing this. Look at his plate sliding around! It's 100% wrong and really, dumb to try this. Spend the money ,go on eBay, buy the attachment for the barbell, and, place it in the hole of two cast iron 45lb. plates. Trust me,you'll avoid injury, and damage to the floor, and you'll be doing it the correct and safe way.
Why do this instead of a normal single arm dumbbell press? Is it for shoulder health? Or for explosive movements? It doesn’t promote shoulder growth or strength as the weight gets lighter as you press away from the body. It has the opposite effect on the body than what happens when we naturally perform any sort of pressing. That is when we press our body or weight up or away from our body our core has to create stability along with the lower body because the load actually gets heavier. When using a landline the weight gets lighter as you press away from the body because of gravity and because the land mine is in front of you. The only land mine exercise worth doing is the row
The idea of using the shallow hole of a plate as anchor is total asinine !! It is an accident waiting to happen with potentially very serious consequences. Especially kneeling position is assumed.

Add a tennis ball with a hole on the end of the bar against the wall. It protects the wall and the bar.
Thanks. This instructor explains in a simple, but complete, manner the techniques and benefits of the exercises. His other videos are very good, too.
You're very welcome!

When doing single arm presses you are working off midline : )

so if I perform the press and catch movement, is it recommended in the upper chest position or the shoulder position, or you recommend both?
First I would say do what feels most natural and comfortable for you. If both grips do, switch it up every couple weeks.
