- How to make a massed grouped flower arrangement featuring yellow roses and anthuriums
Ingredients - yellow standard roses , grass to create loops, green midori anthurium, hosta leaves, green trick dianthus, green Santini
This little design makes use of grass loops to capture enclosed space and grouping - in this case, these beautiful yellow roses.
The anthurium creates a good contrast to the soft yellow roses, and the colour scheme adds visual impact and ‘zing’ !
With roses easily available then why not have a go at creating your own version?
This would look perfect in any home, or makes an ideal gift.

Thank you 🌼
Very attractive, thank you x
🌼 Thank you 🙋🏼♂️
Lovely design! I find myself recycling foam often too. Creating a 2nd or 3rd arrangement for home, then eventually mixing it into outside planters/pots with soil for added water storage. I live in a very hot dry climate and it saves my potted plants.
Thank you 😊
Love the green anthuriums, they last so long!
We have the red, white, a very dark burgundy and watermelon colour growing at home.
Thanks for sharing John.
They are my favorite the green ones. Are these houseplants that you have? I have never tried to grow them - must add one to my houseplant collection 😀🙋🏼♂️
@@FlowerJoos they are growing under trees in the front and near our orchid greenhouse in the backyard! We live in Brisbane, Australia 🦘

I really , really like the way you used the grasses--so interesting! This is a beautiful arrangement that would be so nice to have somewhere in the house. It would also make a lovely gift for someone. Thanks John!

Love the tip for using the grass! Will add to my Thanksgiving arrangement!
Thank you 😊
Hello, John! I very much like the yellow and green palette and agree that this arrangement would look great in any home. We are quickly approaching Thanksgiving here in the states, and I was thinking that the yellow makes for a good seasonal color choice. Also, in the spirit of Thanksgving, let me say that I am grateul for you and this channel as it conveys wonderful ideas that stem for your creativity. Cheers, Friend, and best for a wonderful week.
Thank you so much - it has given me so much pleasure seeing that people get value from the videos and the content. And those that follow us regularly and support us are very much appreciated. 😀
Flowers are something everyone should have in their lives - so thank you friend and have a great week also 🌼🙋🏼♂️🍁🍂
Super pretty, and perfect color choices for Fall. (Thanksgiving in the US). 👏
Well done!
Question: Have you ever tried to incorporate stems/vine of Pothos in any arrangements? Knowing they would serve more as a spiller, I like the bolder leaf vs ivy sometimes. I’m thinking of trying some, and the bonus would be the possibility of rooted cuttings later. With the soft stems, maybe a light wire wrap to keep them anchored? 🤷♀
Thank you 😊 I’ve not used pothos in a design but it could look great - and you are right, maybe anchor with a wire, and then reuse for cuttings later! I think it would be good - not likely to wilt and a nice change from ivy 😀

Hi John, I have been watching your videos on repeat. Such cool content. I want to start floristry but im struggling to find a wholesaler. Could you do a video on this?
Thank you so much. Where abouts are you based? Wholesalers need you to prove that you are a business - so registered in some way, premises, vat registered - they will do checks before giving an account, so it is hard to sometimes open a new account if you are new.
The wholesalers delivery vans get to know everyone in an area, so they have a good finger on the pulse and if a new business opens they would know that florist from where they worked.
If you want to start floristry then I would suggest you don’t need a wholesaler, you need experience in a florist business first. You will see how things work, what doesn’t work and what does - that’s gold to know before taking the plunge and creating a business.
Hi John, Thankyou for getting back to me. I guess Im looking to buy in bulk so that I can practice designs. Im sure im missing a trick. Unfortunately I cant afford to quit my cuttent job and look into work experience or switching careers just yet.
@@salsal9644 I wish you luck - and to be honest flowers from a supermarket can be the same cost nearly as wholesale but the availability might be much more varied.
Our local Tesco had a good range and some reduced as well - so good for practice. Maybe there are some online suppliers of Wholesale flowers who will supply to flower arrangers so that would be ideal. So better prices than retail but maybe a little more than business wholesale. The stem counts though will be maybe higher than you think - 20s and 50s . Hope you dan find a source 🌼🙋🏼♂️
Is it okay to use floral foam that has dried up or should it be kept moist? Do you recommend saving our used floral foams?
Hello! That’s a god question . Floral foam isn’t really good for the environment as it breaks down into micro plastics but saying that it exists, so if you can reuse it then that’s better than one use only. The first consideration is how holey is it? If it’s full of holes then it won’t hold water as well as usual. Then good for packing and supporting a better bit, or using in a container that will hold water to a good depth anyway, so all stems are in water and the foam is just giving support to the stems.
For keeping it is best to keep it wet - so only soak what you need, cut dry foam first to get the bit you need. That way any foam left is dry and will store for as long as you want. If it’s wet then best to keep it wet, though I wouldn’t leave it in deep water to do this. The only problem is it might get a bit of mould on it, but that will rub off. If the foam has dried already, you will probably find it won’t resoak well.
Best advice is designs for customers or important work gets fresh new foam - but old foam can be reused to pack or for practise prices, or to use in deep containers ( this works in places like churches where the design stays ).
Hope that helps!
I just reused a wreath ring from august - but used for my door and bound on moss and then winter greens. It’s good it got reused and it still has strength and will hold moisture.
