- How to make a large waterfall summer sunflower design, featuring sunflowers and solidago
Ingredients - sunflowers - mixed , solidago, allium, canna leaves, zebra grass, forsythia foliage, dried poppy seedheads, cow parsley or ammi .
This gold coloured alibaba style metal vase is just the perfect colour to use to go with our fabulous sunflowers and solidago. With the flowers raised up we can not only see them better but they can cascade down to either side, creating a design that would be perfect in a hall, at an event or just to have in the home!

Damn! I wish I had seen this a few months ago. I did a wedding cake for a bride that wanted a SUNFLOWER motif. This arrangement would have been perfect for the wedding party hall. Oh well, now I know. This is truly SPECTACULAR!!!

A really spectacular arrangement. The container looks a little bit like a milk churn. The addition of the cow parsley really made it. I’m on holiday at the moment in the Costa del Pembrokeshire 😂. We’ve rented a cottage and I’ve done some flowers here too! I think I’m addicted to flower arranging 😀

What a gorgeous arrangement, and, if I can say ao, "it is just my style". As it is, I'm a follower and devotee of yours, and am very glad to be so. Another awesome arrangement John. My most favorite videos are the ones when you were in the hotel and you were able to do large arrangements and sprays. It was a pleasure to watch. I realize that working out of your home prevents you from making those large arrangements. That why I love this one. Also, sunflowers are not my most favorite flower but they look so great in this arrangement. Keep up the good work. You're a pleasure to watch. :-)

That is such a lovely design! How would you suggest transporting something like this safely to a venue?
Thank you 😊 yes - it needs to be held securely - so sitting in a fixed bucket or lying on its back in a box are probably the best suggestions . From experience a little time securing items really saves so many problems with deliveries
Magnificent arrangement, John! I love the solidago (we call it goldenrod). Unfortunately, the variety we have here in the eastern US is very pollen-laden, and many people are allergic to it, so not a good choice for arrangements. I’ve tried using Queen Anne’s lace (wild carrot), but it has no staying power and curls up very soon after being cut. Any suggestions for how to make meadow flowers last longer?
Thank you! Yes, the meadow flowers don’t last so easily - the only ways to help are fresh water and a cooler room for them to be placed in - but it’s just their nature I’m afraid 🌼🌼🌼

Floral Foam is single use plastic so it really isn’t a good thing to use at all. It never breaks down and poisons our water ways.
Yes this is very true, and the industry is working hard to find alternatives. It is a petro chemical product. In other videos we show alternatives that people can use which are plastic free and more environental. 🌼
