Thank you for another fun tutorial. I'm sorry to read so many negative comments here. I think some viewers have forgotten how fortunate we are to have all these free quilting lessons from knowledgable people. I learn something new with every tutorial!
I learned how to quilt reading Amy’s Diary of a Quilter tutorials! Her tutorials are clear, concise and are easy to follow. This was before I even knew RUclips existed. Thank you Amy!
So cute! Thank you for the tip on how to swirl the seams. I love seeing Misty's tutorials - such an encouraging soul! If you can't hear Amy (stuff happens), click on the CC and read along.
I LOVE Amy Smart. She has a fabulous blog plus she is a great teacher. I learned how to do quilting from her course that was online. She is so easy to understand. Her quilt designs are perfect to learn from. She is also a fabric designer (!), and I’ve bought so much of her fabrics!
What a nice surprise to find this bonus tutorial waiting for me at the end of a long day at work. This is a cute project that I have to try. I’m currently working feverishly to get all Christmas gift projects done, so after the holidays probably. Great job Misty! 🥰
Thank you for showing this cute quilt idea. The first quilt I ever made (before I even knew quilting was on RUclips) was Amy Smart’s Christmas Tree quilt from her website. It was a game changer for me because you could make a couple blocks and not have to cut out so many at one time. Thank you Amy. And thanks Misty for sharing other’s ideas as well as your own. Loved the poinsettia block 😉.
Thanks for joining with us, Lynn! We're glad we can not only be part of your quilting journey, but that we can also bring on wonderful people like Amy to help, too!
So cute and you make it easy. I will be making this soon! Love all your tutorials. Merry Christmas to the entire Doan family! Thanks for providing us with all your talents and knowledge throughout the year -- such a wonderful gift!
Thats 1 thing i wish Jenny would do more of telling us which way to press the seams.i know she always says no one can see them & no one is going to take the quilt apart to see which way there going.but it really helps when your doing your own free motion quiltig
On the same note, I wish Missouri Star patterns would indicate directions on which way seams are pressed. I am still learning and feel this would be valuable information to share in a pattern.
@@heathermartin8656 i agree with you 100% i watch another quilting lady that does videos also & she always tell you which way to press seems send me a private message & i will tell you who it would not be right to say it on this
I have to disagree, she has said that a time or two, I have watched every single one of her tutorials, some multiple times, She encourages you to press to the dark side. If your just tuning into Jenny you may want to watch earlier tutorials. Many appreciate the teaching she does, it would be slow going and boring to hear the basics over and over every week. Jenny has been teaching us for many yrs and we all know what to do because we have seen her hundred videos from the beginning. Once the other teachers reach the number of free tutorials and patterns that Jenny has done, their fans will get bored hearing the same ......simple steps we learn in the beginning. For total newbies, all you have to do if your not clear is send her a message and they will get back to you with every question. As far as knowing how to press your seams after you have done a quilt you should be able to decide for your self how you prefer, there are several thoughts on pressing seams open or pressing to the side. Tina, you said you wished she would tell you how to press the seams. Well in your comment below you say she does tell you how to press the seams.......you just don t like what she is advising......that is the great thing about Jenny, she is cool with what ever you choose to do once you know the reasons to pressing to the dark side. There are other teachers out there now that have followed Jennys lead in teaching online, that is great, But for any of us to start comparing them is really an injustice to all of us, the more you see, the more your exposed to teaching the better off we all are. But just because there is a new kid on the block does not mean what Jenny has given us for the last 10 yrs is less than wonderful.
@@MissouriQuiltCo thank you. I watched one of your videos that was a short cut for making HST. In your video, you placed two squares RST, then sewed a quarter inch all around the square, then it was cut diagonally into HST. In that video, you said all the sides would be stretchy bc it was cut on the bias edge. So I didn't know if it would be the same thing with this video too ?
graylagran, maybe they weren’t aware that there was a problem. That is my guess since they usually produce videos without issue. Are you going to continue watching MSQC videos, because, you know, it could possibly happen again?
Amy is difficult to hear as it seems that her mike is so much further away than the host. Amy's voice is muffled. There should be a way to check the voice level. It is too bad, this is impossible to watch, other than with the voice off.
Please take this as constructive criticism, not as a negative. I enjoy your quilting videos very much, but please stop saying "perfect" and "exactly" so often.
Me too i learned to quilt by watching jenny but i have not made any of her quilts for a Long time since misty started.i do like the videos Natalie has done.
@@tinadenike4994 Jenny still has her weekly tutorials, Misty is separate or an extra one each week, which you can choose not to watch......they are separate.

I love to see my favorite bloggers live on RUclips. Thanks for a great shortcut!
Ps. Amy, thank you for the pressing tip to swirl seams 💜
The colors in this collection are SOOO happy! Love it!! Hope it's the Deal of the Day SOON! Also love an extra day with Misty :)
Love Any Smart's cheerful enthusiasm!

I needed a review on the swirl technique. This looks like a perfect project for a new quilter like me. Thanks so much!
Where is the cc
Misty this was a great video, no interruption.
thank you for sharing this pattern, I think I will try it with larger blocks so I can make a large lap quilt.
Good video, I like the way the 1/4 square triangles were done and the pressing idea

Round quilt
Lovely project! Lovely fabrics! Lovely time with you ladies!
I like that fabric. Very cute little quilt. :)
This would be a really cute quilt for a doll bed.
Difficult to hear her but darling pillow. Love the fabric! Tfs.
Love this collection!
Such a cute little quilt!
Is Amy's microphone working? Sometimes she is hard to hear.
Yes, it was like her mi's volume was low or we were hearing her through Misty's mic.
Yes, her mic was working, but when she turned towards Misty, her mouth was right at Misty's mic height. Sorry about that unanticipated issue!
I love this collection!
Hello, this is a great starter quilt for me 😁💕 simple & colourful 😋 Erica x
I would try Jenny's super easy 1/4 square triangles for this lovely quilt.
Beautiful squares! Love seeing Amy Smart. Silly question, is that a regular ink pen?
Great tutorial! Thank you.
We're so glad you enjoyed watching this tutorial, Evelyn! Happy quilting!
Great project 😎

Very sweet
It can be a baby doll quilt

cute
Does this block end up stretchy on all sides ?
We haven't had any trouble with that, but it could, Stacey.

I think Amy’s mic is not working
I don’t think Amy’s mic was on for you could hardly hear her.
What’s wrong with Amy’s microphone 🎤 ? Why wasn’t this fixed during filming ?

Can’t hear. Frustrating.
Would have liked to have watched this video but the quality was so poor very very hazy.
I really enjoy Jenny. Misty not so much. Only cause HE is usually running his mouth from behind the camera. So if I see her face... or a hard pass.
