    Afghanistan is often depicted as a Middle Eastern country that requires women to wear burqas in public, but the real story here is actually much more complicated than that. Photojournalist Paula Bronstein spent 15 years documenting life in Afghanistan, and tells Seeker Stories how women are finding their voice.

      +Yang Xiao Long why? Because they have turned against them to worship Allah, and Allah is literally Satan himself. They also hate Jews, Christians, and Israel, like Satan, and the Jews and Christians are God's people and Israel is God's nation. This verse is speaking to the Muslims, they are relatives with Jews, and they will be punished for what they have done:
      Obadiah 1:9-10
      "The fighting men of Arabia will be terrified, and every soldier in Jordan will be killed. Because you robbed and killed your relatives, the descendants of Jacob, you will be destroyed and dishonored forever"
      The Bible also says Syria and Babylon (Iraq) will never have peace and will always be wars there because of what they've done, and... Still no peace!!!

      What the most people dont understand is Afghanistan has ALWAYS been a consevative society. In the 60's and 70's only the capital Kabul and some other big cities were some what less conservative. but the countryside was backward conservative place and majority of people in Afghanistan still live in countryside where people dont have access to proper education and healthcare. Back in 70's people in Afghanistan lived in their own bubble, they didnt know anything about each other. Taliban and Mujahedin are just a byproduct of this backward countryside's ideology mixed with the funding of Pakistan ( Taliban) and USA ( Mujaheddin).
      But even before the whole Afghan Jihad episode, Burka was still a very popular traditional dress. The skirts women you are talking about belong to some very posh gated communities of Kabul where average Afghan was not allowed to go, the skirt women represent less than 0.00001% of Afghan population.
      Afghan society has been ultra conservative for centuries. Afghanis belong to ultra radical Sunni Wahabist sect of Islam. Burka, voilence and Misogyny is validated by their very basic teachings.

Like slaughter, terror, deception, rape and all other signs of ugliness. The Religion Of Allah the Only God they say. I'd want nothing to do with it in any way. It ugly it's Bad and in no way true.

Littke boys from all ages, even 4 years old, have to work to support their families. Usually they have to resort to sexual work, become dancing boys and get all kind of sexual abuse. Thats what happen when women are not allowed to work.

      That is true. But these people believe in a different version of islam. Which means they believe women were created after men and men are more powerful than women. Only 7% of muslims in the world believe this. Mostly in Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan and Pakistan. Less than 1% in Turkey, Indonesia, Azerbaijan, Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt, Malaysia, Türkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Albania, Bosnia, Kosovo, You get the point.

    • @theSelodijehermano
      @theSelodijehermano 7 лет назад +1

      Rio 2016 TURKEY-TÜRKİYE but they're still Muslims. You're talking about 7% from over a billion people professing Islam. So if you do the math, that's a lot of women being oppressed in the name of Allah.

    • @legaciestr
      @legaciestr 7 лет назад +3

      So, I am a Turkish girl. I am 23 and I don't wear hijab or niqab or burqa or anything. I wear modern clothing and I am a Muslim. So coming to you from a Young Muslim Turkish Girl, Islam is just a religion, it depends on what YOU bring to it. For example if you read the Quran, it says "don't pray" and if you stop reading there than you would think that God doesn't want you to pray. But if you turn the page, it continues "if you are stoned/drunk" There are people who misunderstand the Quran and think they are muslims. For example, translations. I am from Turkey and I read the Turkish me'âl of the Quran. And it says in literal translation "if your wife sleeps with someone else, separate your beds. And if she does it again, hit her with a tiny stick." When I read this part, I thought about leaving Islam and I did for about 3 months. Than I moved to America. I met an Arab there. I used to hate Arabs and think they are disgusting but this girl was very nice. Once I asked her about this Âyet from the Quran. She laughed. And then said hit them with a tiny stick is literal translation and is very wrong. She said in Arabic hitting with a tiny stick meant not talking to someone and cutting all contacts with someone. See, Quran is a very deep book and you can't understand it just by reading it. You have to live it too.

    • @theSelodijehermano
      @theSelodijehermano 7 лет назад +1

      Rio 2016 TURKEY-TÜRKİYE I understand what you say and believe me that as a Roman Catholic I also have trouble accepting the Bible as the Holy book. All I'm saying is that as you mentioned, some governments have taken the words of the Quran into literal translations. Creating all this rules where if you don't wear a hijab you get arrested (Iran, Pakistan, Afghanistan, etc.) that's my point. Whether we like it or not, there are millions of people suffering and being extremely oppressed, sometimes even treated as animals because of religion and a book.

Still, I could be killed for not wearing the scarf (I detest my scarf just because I MUST wear it not to mention all the clothes I must wear even in the hot summer) Most students have been very well conditioned to their religion. They think I will burn in hell forever since I am not Muslim. A few of the students have been out of the country and they just think I am so lucky I get to leave this place. They tell me they resent the freedom of men and they also tell me they wear the scarf because they have to (NOT WANT TOO!!!!) Christians here must hide, they will be killed. I live in a compound-protected. I am ready to leave, the female situation here just depresses me.
