One of the best albums of all time. I was in such a dark place at the time it came out. Not sure if it was good for me at the time or not, but appreciated it none the less for the music it is.

Great observation with the influence the song Let Down had on the next wave of bands. Not only did they influence the bands you named and more, basically the whole Post-Rock genre used it's template of soft twinkly guitars and odd time signatures to create a wall of sound for the next 15 years.

This, in my humble opinion, is one of the best albums released in my lifetime. ✌️

I think 'Let down' was played in 'After Life' the Rick Gervais Netflix thing. That's the only place I've ever seen it used.

Let Down is one of my favorite RH songs. This entire album is magnificent. You nailed it when you said how many bands Radiohead influenced. It is fun to watch you discover this phenomenal band.

3:10 That choir-sounding instrument is a Mellotron. The Beatles used it often.

I think the choral sounding keyboard is a mellotron. Invented in 1963, each key is a separate audiotape player. Very expensive and very much a sound of prog.

Let down is such a beautiful song. It was lovely to see your reaction. :)
That final part of the Exit music song always gives me goosebumps and brings tears to my eyes. It's just so intense. Loved hearing your take on it.

You nailed it with the Radiohead song and TV and Movie connection - the first track was the closing scene music commissioned for the 90's "Romeo and Juliet" hence the name, but its been in a bunch of other stuff - as with many of their songs - the entire first season of "Westworld" as one example had like 4 different songs, but they show up everywhere, especially as a lot of film-makers and editors are probably in GenX now in their 40s and have that influence. I think the bands most often cited as easiest links are Muse and Coldplay, but that is always an oversimplification and sort of subjective. This is the second half of the 'first half' of the album "OK Computer" - you already heard "Airbag" the opener, "Paranoid Android" comes next - a great spacey tune "Subterranean Homesick Alien" is 3rd then these 3 tracks - one of the most killer first halves to any album I personally ever heard. Love this album so much. Also, great call on Johnny Marr - both Thom Yorke, who plays most of the rhythm guitar and the Lead Guitarist Jonny Greenwood (the guy who plays 90 different instruments on all the live vids) cite Marr as a major influence. Also "The Pixies" - they had so many different sounds throughout their 9 albums so far, this was their late 90s post Grunge, new electro/alt/rock (the next one up is a HUGE left turn into a unique and crazy new sound with "Kid A" and then continued to change up their sound on every album, sometimes to incredible results, like master work 2007 "In Rainbows" and sometimes harder to latch onto sounds (2011 "King of Limbs"). You have such a great ear for different bands and riffs and the entire ability to relate bands - makes your reactions so fun to hear. I first got on when you went through a lot of Stevie Ray Vaughan, my hero, and now it is awesome you've started in on my favorite band in Radiohead. Long comment, my bad!

Came here for the Hip, staying for Radiohead. I love this album so much.
Exit Music tells the story of Romeo & Juliet. It was made for a movie in the 90's but in the end wasn't used.
Let Down (to me) is their Manchester sound on full display. Very Stone Roses-y.
