Cypress was my FIRST show, I was 18 years old, I did not even really know the band or their music. Got dragged down by a friend who promised me it would be a good way to celebrate the new year. Needless to say, this experience turned me into a lifetime fan. I hopped on tour in KC 2000 and rode it til the end. Continued to follow them when they returned; I've at least listened to every show they've played since then. Phish-Hooked for LIFE. Even got a tattoo of the Phish logo so I would never forget that amazing experience.
Love this vid. Even then I was too old to do festivals then. But I fell in love with Phish in 2021, even thought I first saw them in 96. No way I am going to do Mondegreen, but I sure did love the 2 STL shows I just witnessed. Mondegreen is going to kill! Have fun Mondegreenians!
You can do an entire series just on BC … it was the craziest show and event that I’ve ever been to. The stories are endless ! There has got to be a site where people can share their experiences 😊 Unbelievable! My pictures from that show are so random and special… we were atop our huge RV , guitars , keyboards and amps .. at one point I looked at the amps and all knobs were turned to 11… all of them and we were playing ….amazing 🎉
I seen Phish the 1st time a few years ago. I have been to hundreds of concerts in my life but Phish wasn’t a concert it was different it was an experience. The people are awesome. The hippie village. I have now seen Phish a few times and I will go every chance I get
like Josh, we got down there way early. the 28th at night. parked with a couple hundred folks in the last rest area before snake rd. and everyone had tons of fireworks and we all blew our firework loads that night together in the rest area. and then it was just a couple hours of traffic in the morning and we had basically the best spot in the place right by the concert gates.
Thank you for that! What a life changing experience it was. Just amazing. We were fortunate enough to make a pilgrimage there last month, coming back from the keys just to get a picture at the sign. Really, thanks Wook for this series!
This was great! I watched this with my wife, she was at Big Cypress and was sharing her stories along with yours. It was like I had the extended edition! Keep up the amazing work!
I rode down with Scott Marks and we rear ended a car in the Bronx. Rest of the weekend was uneventful lol. I can't believe nobody mentioned that SOAM>Catapult
I had an amazing time, grateful to have experienced all of the imperfect perfectness, bringing in a new era....love hearing the tales and again, great job putting these into fruition ✌️❤️
We spent a long time in traffic... I felt so bad for the regular commuters. A lot of them drove by on the shoulder. When we got to our site we realized the drain on our cooler was open and a lot of ice had melted and soaked all our stuff. I brought in tons of fireworks and luckily they didn't get wet. The thing I remember most was tons of people looking for herb. For some reason there wasn't much on site. It was weird. We were stocked so we were able to make some nice trades. One thing that almost happened was that we had a special bottle of water and my buddy almost accidentally drank the whole thing. We were like, "where is the bottle?" and I looked over and he was starting to chug it. A tiny sip was more than enough. I grabbed it before he got much more than a mouthful but he still had an interesting 48 hours lol. I had seen a lot of shows before but that was my first festival. It was so great. I have a video on my channel of some footage I got of the grounds and stuff.
Big Cypress kicked ass! I absolutely LOVE the band The Phish! Edit: I got there a day early and didn't sit in more than 3 hours traffic! #cheesecake #aftermidnight #sunriseset
The whole year was great for music. The summer tour was off the hook. Not a dud at any stop. July 4th in Atlanta is still probably my favorite show to date. Was at Alpine and Polaris and Deer Creek. I remember the announcement of NYE in Ohio was super exciting as i was living in Tampa area. Its like 4 hour drive down there. Felt like we were making great time until we got on Alligator Alley. Then it like 12 hours till we got in. It was pretty fun for a traffic jam. Big Cypress was insane and every NYE i was I could go back and experience it all over again. Got home at some point late on the 1st. Next day saw the Dude of Life acoustic set in Dunedin FL at place locally called The Pharm. Bunch of Florida bands and The Dude.
Anyone who was there knows how amazing it truly was. Id bet that for the 70k plus down there, it's definitely w/in best 3 experiences of every last person. Nothing before can compare and nothing in future will come close to replicating.
Oswego wasn't that bad in comparison to all other Phish fests. That was about 3-4 hours for us. And we just decided to go that morning from VA. They were checking people in at the car when I got there. Then you went to a different line.
Man whoever turned turned their RV back around when the cops were turning people away at the end of Snake Rd is still my hero. We got to the be the 8th car into the fest because of him. My friend almost got arrested arguing with cops. Also, props to the dude who ran through the gas station yelling “they’re opening the gates!!” When in fact they were not 😂
We drove in the morning of 12/30 from the gulf side and only hit 2 hours of traffic so I guess we lucked out! Then we started walking out at the end of Meatstick, we were walking to the car while Here Comes the Sun was playing. Jumped into the car and went and no traffic on the way out!
After the show I passed out for 8 hours. Woke up and drank a 12 pack of beer. Slept another 8 and when I woke up the place was empty. Went to fort myers beach and recooped.
@@swillia420 we were going to go down to the Keys but decided against it & went to Fort Misery like you guys. Had a room in a Howard Johnson's I believe right on ground level on the beach. You hopped over our little fence outside of the sliding door and were on the beach. Was so much fun. Ft Misery was a lot of fun too, we stayed down there for another 3/4 days maybe almost a week even. We did not want to go home to the cold Midwest. I had a bunch of sand in my car I left in there until it got warm again in Chicago like in mid May.
We had 1 guy from NYC that had a knife. Came to our village of 15 people and tried to rob us all with a knife. He was cracked out. He knew nothing about Phish. He's lucky I was lit and in a good mood. We surrounded him.
That was grrrreeeeat. I wanted to go, but got busted at the Portland maine show for seelling bunk jellies. Oh well. It would of changed my life I bet though. By the way, what did these tshirts say?

Well that was a pleasant end to the weekend surprise.
Always take a party test kit to a Phish show. I have since 95.
Killer episode as always! Was born a couple months before big cypress but would trade my entire childhood to have been there.

I live in manatee county. 4.5 hrs north. We left late Wednesday night n got in line early Thursday morning, n it still took us 12hrs to get in.
We drove two loaded down trucks from Texas to Southern Florida. It was a 25 hour drive, and we slowly inched our way down Alligator Alley for 8 hours.
@MikeFionna Only time my dad ever got food poisoning was from Miami Subs lol

I think the doll droppers were part of the nitrous mafia. Surprised no mention of the nitrous mafia.
First thing we did after walking out of Cyoress was go to our car and turn the radio on to see if Y2K took down the world.
Mine was about 15 cars within a tenth of a mile.
I was there.
"Say it like your PISSSSED", Trey says to Kev.

Y’all preaching “peace, love and no hate” but benji wearing a “fuck trump” pin. Hippocruatly hilarious
We don't "preach" anything and we don't censor our guests. We mostly just talk about a jam band.
nice pin benjy🤌
wearing a “f trump” pin is a lot lol
oh now i get it he’s the guy that thinks it’s hilarious to moon people
I thought he was the street level snitch from an early 80’s network tv buddy cop show ..😂😂
He's also wearing a "love" Dead pin on the other side. Can't get a read on him 😂
