Yup, good eye. The song has always been in Ab, with a capo at the first fret with Jake playing a G shape. It appears that his black Eggle acoustic guitar is strung and tuned down a step and a half to C# and Jake’s got the capo on the fourth fret. Playing the song in the standard G shape brings him right back to Ab, so he’s not tuned down for his voice. He’s playing at the same pitch as always. Likely the guitar is strung and tuned low for a different song but putting the capo on the fourth fret enables him to keep Simple As This at pitch. I’ve noticed some of the guitars are tuned downed during the live set, but usually he brings everything to studio pitch with a capo. Every now and then he’ll play with a capo down one so he’s singing a half step lower, but not too often.
The transition of his voice is unbelievable
His voice at the beginning ♡
I love nottingham's accent.

melxna sorry. but don't cry or I will.😭
Forgot the lyrics btw... “mining for treasures that I never found”.
He always change that part in the live version
his guitar must be way down tuned. playing the original chords but 3 frets up!
I think he is just using a capo to change the key to make it easier for him to sing live.
Yeah it does sound low considering where the capo is.
I'm not sure but maybe he play on my own before, that song is very down tuned
