unfortunately for us as a chileans, tourists just do the "gringo trip", and goes to certain places and cities, but they miss the beauty of the real country, i agree in certain opinions of yours but is like if i jugde france only if i go to paris, next time go to the "regiones" in the south or north and you will find out that as we say that "santiago is not chile"
great advice, will do this next time. Do you have some specific cities that you would recommend to stop at ? I heard about Puerto Natales & Punta Arenas, but maybe you, as a local, would recommend something else
fair review. santiago has deteriorated significantly over the last 10 years thanks to an economic downturn due to bad fiscal policies, mass migration and finally the 2019 riots and covid lockdowns which left the city dirty and unsafe. it was not like this before even in rougher neighbourhoods. the place to stay in santiago is providencia which is safe, clean and near everything or a short metro ride away. the ideal as you said is to head out to other cities or visit smaller towns. santiago is worth visiting but isn't chile.
@@tripreview.andrii it is improving for sure. check out enciclopedia de santiago, lots of videos on the good and bad of the city and how it's changing.
I just came back from spending 2 weeks in 3 different areas of Santiago. The images you show are a small fraction of what this city is about. Yes, there are homeless people, like most other large metro areas around the world. The difference I saw in Santiago are entire families of immigrants from neighboring countries (mostly Argentina), with small children, camping in parks where people would stop to bring them food and clothes. However, I also saw a city that is growing in leaps in bounds, using sound urbanism concepts to make humans' lives healthier and more pleasant in a densely packed city. You chose to focus on your negative point of view. That is regrettable because, in my experience, this isn't a true representation of Santiago.
Your criticisms are welcome to see if the authorities do something to amend our country since they have given free rein to the bad migration that has arrived mainly from the Caribbean that they have. Our streets are dirty and with a lot of prostitution and crime. Before, it was a safer and more orderly country, but now it is no longer the same as it was years ago.
I had no idea that Santiago was so dirty and dangerous. Liked your honest review. I have a constructive suggestion, do not use Mexican music for cities outside of Mexico, that music is loud and annoying. I would use music instead from the country you're visiting, like in this case from Chile, and if you can't find any from the country, I would use something more neutral and not as loud.
Thanks for the suggestion :) To be honest, I just used 'latino' music and I cannot understand when it's a Mexican or a Chilean music :) but will try to improve it in future
@@tripreview.andrii My pleasure. I have Hispanic roots, not Mexican and I can tell you with certainty, that to most Hispanics, (especially in the Caribbean and South America) that the Mariachi Mexican music on a video will turn a lot of people off. I watched your other two videos from Vina del Mar and Valparaiso, very interesting.
Tirso de Molina isn"t for tourists, from my point of view. May be you had visited dangerous places for s.o who is not local one. Where are you from? It is clear you are not a native speaker of english. It seems you only visit the bad part of Santiago. I don't understand you. About comments of recommendations I suggest u to come back to Santiago and show the other part of the city. And 2nd to open your mind and be positive. Third good bye.
interesting, I was expecting it to be a center of the city and the most interesting. Can you name a couple of places/regions of the city, that you would recommend ? I mean exact names

Interesting. Which part of Santiago did you enjoy and would recommend to others? where is the best area to rent an apartment?

it's sad that this happened to your country. I saw interviews that say the same. I hope that this situation will improve soon

Chile before 2019 was another country, when we were mostly chileans.
I hope newcomers will be able to adapt and it'll be safer again
