Nice. I have been a marine electrician at a shipyard for over 30 years, and while I am pretty good at it, one thing I tell the newer guys coming up is that you will never know it all, the systems are always changing on ships, and there are usually always more efficient ways to troubleshoot problems. So it is always best to keep learning and watching how others do their thing, because sometimes when someone looks at a problem a little differently, they may find something that you may have overlooked. So keep an open mind, and strive to never stop learning!😉
Great idea, awesome video and good explanation! But... I felt frustrated starting from 03:40... It was unnecessary checking 1F3 fuse and 1F40 overload relay NC contact. Your motor was turning one direction and 1K4 contactor was energized. In such situation, everything that should be in focus only: 1) remote control 1S2 contact, NC contact of 1K4 contactor and coil of 1K5 contactor. I think, if you narrowed your troubleshooting down to these components, you would got fond the cause on the first try. But that was not that what you wanted... Right? Why didn't you wonder who did disconnect the wire and why? I believe, you know the answer :-) ... You did it to make a nice video! By the way, anyhow it was pleasure to watch it!
Yes. Sorry about. I forgot to include that it wasnt necessary to test circuit before the push button. I just did that so the viewers can see how it is supposed to test circuit. Also I could find the problem right away if I test directly at the remote control. 😆 This is just a simulation. Thank you sir.
You're doing great Mark, thanks for uploading..Just be aware of the difference on the sound level between you speaking and the music.. Music may be too laud..
First you should check remote controller right away, because of the forward button is working that tells me there is power going in to the remote controler,so obviously the issue in the reverse button, this should save you lots time doing troubleshooting ;)
i like your video but you add music which is so loud that it is problem to understand what you say.pls avoid music on your video or slow down the sound of music
Yes. I mentioned in the beginning of the video that this is simulated. You can’t do this in real troubles on ship. Everything has to be repaired immediately. I mean you can do it but not with good camera angles.
