Btw the hilt *can be tightened if done correctly. This is something i've done many many times. Just requires a vice with padded jaws, a peen hammer & a steady hand. Its easier if there is a peen block though just b/c its easier not to damage the pommel. However a few light taps are usually enough. One can also counter sink the metal between the blade & guard to avoid rattling but for that i would recommend going to a professional culter.

despite being a Chinese sword its shape and overall profile is very similar to that of the Late Roman empire Spatha double edged symmetrical cut oriented designs with minimum hand protection
Very nice sword. Hilt shape reminds me of some "demon banishing" swords from the 19th century i've handled. Though i think that LK Chen is a bit longer than they were by a couple inches but the banishing swords arent meant for combat as such either so....lol
1-1.5lb is around 450-700g
