Hey man, it's always great to see new content from you. I'm gonna play me some Street Fighter and listen to you as the new year comes in. Have a happy new year, man.

Happy New Year to you, too. Did you have a chance to play the SF6 Beta?

@@Swordsage Unfortunately no. My computer these days ain't what it used to be, so even Street Fighter 5 I'm running on lower settings. When 6 comes out I'll probably have to get the ps4 version or finally put money down to buy a new computer.

29:58 - What DID happen to customers' self-respect? I completely agree. I keep seeing these terrible product trends, and people just roll over for them. Subscription-based everything even when there's no continuous service being delivered, no headphone jacks on phones, no ability to replace batteries on electronics, it's ridiculous.

Good to hear from you :) I completely agree about Musk.
It's kinda funny -- I'm listening to you talk about video games being released before they actually work well (much less completely right) while playing Axis and Allies in another window. (I don't know anyone these days who plays the analog board game, so sometimes I play the computer version.) This thing was released in the mid-'90s and was full of bugs. They put out one patch, which fixed some of the worst bugs and created a few more. Then, they gave up. I have even older games that were never fully fixed. This industry has been this way for a long time, but I agree that it's worse now. (Aren't they all?)

As another "audiophile", I really enjoyed the audio talk! I'm hating bt too, and although for comfort reasons I'm happier using my over hears at home, for mobility, I've been so happy with my Moondrop Arias !
Now I'm really wanting the full video on audio and bt and everything!

I'm all for other rants like the bluetooth one. The longer videos and rants are always good (current state of the human being is still my favorite). Besides, even if you don't do it, I'm not a patreon so I can't really complain

It's pretty funny how a lot of games shipping recently as unfinished 'complete' products seem to have similar issues with a few meddling forces:
    1. The investors who have been persuaded to invest in a product that takes at least half a decade to develop and has yet to even sell and want their profits, with extra interest for every year that has passed exactly on the earliest possible workable date or the exact moment they panic over negative press.
    2. The guys in marketing and accounting(excluding the obvious top-level management and decision makers) whose jobs are to maximize sales and minimise expenditure at any cost whose opinions very likely have more weight than they should regarding how things should be as they are the only ones who actually directly deal with the seeking and generation of profit, with every essential development/design/consultant job being, in pure cost terms, a drain on limited resources that may not even help with generating future profit.
    3. The consumers who endlessly seek the latest thing for the smallest modicum of satisfaction and occasionally cause marketing and investors to panic over absolutely nothing because of all the loud internet screaming. This group tends to make everything worse and has been growing exponentially, if other mainstream things like Apple iPhones, Hello Kitty and... whatever nightmare nonsense the current day brings with all this 'celebrity influencer' stuff can count as indicators. Also because human birth rates and population growth stop for nothing.
I have been searching since 2005 for a squad-based shooter game with actually competent allied squad AI that doesn't make stupid decisions or teleport randomly when the players split up. I have been searching ever since I played Star Wars Republic Commando and have never found anything equal or better despite it being over a decade since then. Payday 2 was somehow almost as good as Republic Commando because at least you could tell the bots to stop resting their muzzles between your shoulders.
Personally, I believe that it's a combination of stupid factors that has lead to the development of barely useful allied bots and I believe it's a combination of all the negatives of the three groups I mentioned that hinder any sort of development or progress in this regard.
I am also willing to draw random crazy lines and accuse all three groups of every detrimental feature or release under the sun as it will very likely be a cold day in hell when any of the development teams relevant to the actual development of the game instead of the monetization can actually be considered as critical decision-makers when it comes to shoving cash shops or chopping games up to profit off of a product that should have been released complete with nothing but future expansions(not cut content, actual expansions after properly implementing any cut parts that were to be in the original game but cut due to time constraints)

Musk reminds me of that Twilight Zone episode Season 4 Episode 14 "Of Late I Think of Cliffordville".
In which a Tycoon owns everything, but is bored of it all, and wants to start over and conquer his empire again. so he makes a deal with Miss Devlin (Julie Newmar) to start all over. needless to say, it doesn't go well.
towards the end, Miss Devlin tells Mr. William Feathersmith
Of course, it didn't work. It could *never* work for *you*, Mr. Feathersmith; shall I tell you why? Because you are a wheeler and a dealer. A financier and a pusher. A brain, a manipulator, a raider. Because you are a taker instead of a builder. A conniver instead of a designer. An exploiter instead of an inventor. A user instead of a bringer.

Any chance for another tabletop story one day?
I still listen to that McGregorville campaign story every other month.

5:39 - I do wonder if the Chinese government artificially promotes talent videos as some form of nationalism, because it makes the country look good to have so many talented people. Just spitballing, of course. Maybe you address this later in the video.

Hot take: Anthem is a more satisfying experience than cyberpunk.
