Would be interesting to see a video looking into the possible strategies that are built into the oxtail saber-relevant techniques and movements for dealing with different situations, such as anti-spear, anti-jian, anti-whatever strategies, essentially looking into adding context to the movements and techniques for the thing. I'd expect that there would be a lot to look at, considering that it is a weapon listed as being used by bodyguards, police, militias, etc. As a side note, a video on Chinese styles that involved bodyguard-relevant strategies would be interesting, considering how rare it is nowadays to see anything that teaches 'Defending Others' as part of its syllabus. We mainly only see 'Self-Defence', but those strategies likely don't translate as well to defending someone other than oneself.
If the rust comes back it could be that there’s moisture inside the scabbard. Sometimes wood is used that is still bleeding sap, or moisture somehow got inside. If the scabbard is the issue the only choice to avoid future rust is a replacement scabbard or to store it outside the scabbard (safely wrapped in cardboard for example). Had a couple of Hanwei swords with this issue. No amount of oil fixed the problem. Not even drowning the inside of the scabbard with oil. The scabbard’s were essentially ruined. Maybe there’s a way to dry them out… a hair dryer maybe? But probably not.
LK Chen is probably the best sword manufacturer for the money, for how good my Scarlet Sunrise Jian performs I'd almost give them a pass for the rust that dao had 😂
@@stripprclipR1 All I hear about Cold Steel is that they're heavy and there's cheaper options with more bang for buck but I've never personally owned one.
