@@kaths_rockxbye5601 Even Sony wants to forget that happened. An amazing console that they ultimately killed with greed (those proprietary memory cards). I still have 2 mint condition OLED Vitas and I love them.

Second most played was probably GTA Vice City.
It's less about playing it, and more about the fact that I was a little kid who didn't know how to treat electronics right, so it would either sit gathering dust or I'd spend the whole day with it charging up while playing...

i have one without a charger and a battery (lost the charger, battery bloated so hard the casing cracked so i had to dispose of it)
My childhood console, but i have the PSP Slim 2002 and still works nowadays.
I call the psp an overclockable controller because you can turn it into one by downloading fusa gamepad and you can also overclock ot by installing custom firmware.
I still have mine! Loved playing Full Auto on there

The umd does infact work with other devices and can contain movies music and other media! The casing for the games is infact proprietary tho. Otherwise its like a super mini dvd wich you wouldn't really want to be spinning around while your traveling. (They designed the case for it to prevent what happened to portable cd players (which was just audio) from happening to video and other data crucial to loading and playing your games!)long story short: The case keeps the disc centered and prevents excess wobbling. Pretty neat.
can you convert an old psp to a new one by adding new chips and screen?

the PSP was peak childhood for me back in 2008, dad gave me a white Japanese-spec 2000. Played GTA LCS and Burnout Dominator on it for hours until I dropped it one day.
I found it a few months ago in a drawer, along with the original box and packaging, I put an extra battery I got with my secondhand PSP 3000, and it still powered on. Thing's a little tank

I did a mod on this thing, basically just installed a new software to play pirated games. It took me a week because someone made it permanent. It really is a dinasour
I really miss UMD but also the PSP door to put it in had this problem with the metal component on the back and it would make it hard to open and close

Actually, the first handheld console by PlayStation was the pocket station. It was only released in Japan and to play games on it. You had to flip up the display and it was also like a memory card so you if you had an original PlayStation, you would plug that thing into the memory card slot and download games to it

This model is the best cause its better for ppl with bigger hands and this is the only model you can switch out the analog stick without opening it
As one who owned few too many PSP's lugging these on trips were a pain but glad the 2000 and 3000's weren't as thicc!

Dude, you can fix it yourself, especially when under the “fix” you mean “replace the broken part”. Just get a screwdriver, open it and replace what’s broken.
