I have the exact same bike and color, pneumatic impact didn't help me, I had to use a cheater pipe with pressure on the rear brake. Nice choice on the brand sprockets. I wonder if an 18 Tooth will fit in there and if I will need to keep 120 links on the chain?
Update- I am replacing my front sprocket again. Supersprox doesn't make a front sprocket for my bike since I did the 520 conversion but they can custom make you a rear 520 pitch sprocket. Sprocket Specialists can make one for you, just tell them to cut down a stock OEM on both sides. Use Firefox for their website. I too used a 27 mm socket but rounded off the nut. I will now have to find one to fit the outer part of the nut now, maybe a 37mm? Also keep with the 118 links, after the chain stretches a bit later on you won't be able to take enough slack out with 120 links.
Hi.. thanks for watching, hope you subscribed.. The chain is a RK XW-Ring Chain PN# GB530GXW. The sprockets are called Super Sprox PN RST-489:42-GOLD 530 chain 42 Teeth Hope this helps Cheers
Should of installed a 18 tooth for more top end believe it or not the bike will take off faster with taller gearing i know crazy huh it pulls the gear just as fast cause 2012 zx14 has a longer stroke it wount rev like a 2006 to 2011 they have same bore but 2012 has long stroke 1352cc to a 1441 i own both bikes and i think on a good day the 07 would win my 07 not running now but going to put it back on the road i had so many good ti n es on my 07
Funny….. I had a 09 same colour scheme as my 2014. That being said I think 200 mph is probably fast enough. I’m more into the acceleration and G forces produced even though I’m heading towards top speed in the process lol.
Going up one tooth up front is like going down 3 in the back. You’re gonna find the bike doesn’t respond quickly . Lower cruising RPM’s which will make the bike sluggish . Also, your gonna gain about 30 mph on top speed. The negative thing is the bike will feel 100LB heavier once you hit the throttle unintentional wheelies will be gone 😎
@@vikenlink I feel u. I'm trying to find anyone that's done any sprocket swap on these but so far your the only one. On my vulcan I'm up 1 down 3 and it made for the best combo for the highway and twisties. But it is a lot lighter and easier to throw around a corner
@@vikenlink going up on the front will not yield faster acceleration but going down on the front will. Down 1 on the front and up 2 on the rear is the most common sprocket combination
It would be fine going a tooth up… I would personally keep it stock. A larger front sprocket will last longer, but like you said, I’d go up 2 at the back to even things up.
@@nikkilabuschagne557 I suggest you buy a service manual…. It’s not a hard job if the motor is out of the frame… the process is straightforward but long winded to explain.
Hello... if you’re referring to the little black bottle, that’s a emission thing. I believe it’s a gas vapour charcoal canister that filters gas vapour from going into the atmosphere.
Guess that’s why the bike shops charge extra money if you want to watch the tech service your bike. It’s going to take him that much longer to do the job because he can’t do his short cuts when he’s being scrutinized by the customer’s laser eye’s .
@@vikenlink there's always a hero in the group lol. Good video bro. Where is part 2? I got an 07 zx14 and I'm about to save money and do it myself too lol.
I think my Gen 2 is due for some new sprockets and chain too.
Just a tip u can zip tie rear brake pedal down and it would have held the brake for u
Good idea DangerDave... I recommend you
Change the chain, front and rear sprocket . No point going halfway .
Good luck on your project!

Well done ....its not so bad really....just that gen1 is different dismantled to gen2 ..ie hydraulic slave cylinder has to be removed
Bout to get a zx14r how do you think a tooth up in the front will do if I want to commute but still hit the twisties from time to time
I’d personally leave the gearing stock..

It’s a Muzzy M14 4 into one…
Muzzy went out of business a few years back. The exhaust may still be available online.
😂

What's your over all goal speed wise??
well my goal isnt for overall top speed but im wanting faster acceleration for 1/4 mile
Can someone tell me how do they set the timing chain and camshaft on a kawasaki 2015 zx14r
